At the moment my favourite Megadeth song is Hangar 18
:amaze: what a song!

Bartender 02-05-2005 04:02 PM

My favourite Megadeth song, now and usually, is Train of Consequences.

Apologies for the useless post, I accidentally clicked my way into this thread and felt I couldn't leave without posting something. So I latched on to whatever the post above me said.

shadow_stalker 02-05-2005 04:03 PM

im listening to hanger 18 at the moment, it is really cool, maybe a bit overdone on the guitar solos...nah, they are pretty impressive

i think my fav megadeth song is either 'moto-psyco' or 'die dead enough'

munky_magik 02-05-2005 04:06 PM

After having seen Holy Wars live, I've decided that it is my current fav :)

IAJP 02-05-2005 04:06 PM

That's what's so good about Megadeth, a lot of the guitar solos are really over the top and unnesecary, but they work.

shadow_stalker 02-05-2005 04:12 PM

hey i just noticed i have 'i thought i knew it all' on my comp and havn't listend to it yet

*puts it on* sounds cool

AB/CD 02-05-2005 04:13 PM

i hated holy wars live for 1 reason soon as i heard that intro i thought aw **** this night is over

shadow_stalker 02-05-2005 04:16 PM
i hated holy wars live for 1 reason soon as i heard that intro i thought aw **** this night is over
AB/CD 02-05-2005 04:26 PM

holy wars is always the last song they play live its amazing live but its just the fact that when it starts u no its the last song and in this case its the last time ill see them

Burdcheese 02-05-2005 04:41 PM

Only 4 days...

I'm so excited.

Also looking forward to the day after - "sorry I can't hear you, I was at a Megadeth concert last night" :D

AB/CD 02-05-2005 04:59 PM

i no all about that my hearing didnt come back till about 3pm the next day

MAthiAS 02-05-2005 05:34 PM
kill the king is a cool song, anyone else like it?

/noob style post
Yeah, its a simple riff but its really cool. The chorus riff is pretty sweet, reminds me of I Know Jack.

Anyone like 99 Ways to Die? Another great song thats not talked about much.
i hated holy wars live for 1 reason soon as i heard that intro i thought aw **** this night is over
Well... you might've said the same at Peace Sells, because Holy Wars always follows it. They always save like Sweating Bullets, Symphony, Peace Sells, and Holy Wars for the end. It was cool on this tour how they threw Back in the Day at the End. And then in the beginning you've got the classic Set the World Afire and Wake Up Dead, so its a good mix of old and new.

99 Ways to Die is an awesome song. Hidden Treasures is pretty cool overall too.

Deconstruction 02-05-2005 05:42 PM

hidden treasures is pretty cool i like truth (especially the Spanish version that was on the remastered version)

munky_magik 02-05-2005 05:43 PM

I Still need to get hidden Treasures :-/

Freezing Moon 02-05-2005 05:43 PM

Who has heard the bootleg of their first ever concert with Kerry King?

The quality is pretty bad, and there is a computerized voice advertising inbetween songs, but it's definitly worth hearing.

AB/CD 02-05-2005 05:44 PM

see the belfast gig was class until i got headbutted during kick the chair

MAthiAS 02-05-2005 06:00 PM
see the belfast gig was class until i got headbutted during kick the chair
I read that as "i got headbutted by a chair"

I don't have Hidden Treasures, just 99 Ways to Die. What else is on there? And is HT an official album or B-sides or what?

munky_magik 02-05-2005 06:03 PM

Hidden Treasures is just B-sides and rare tracks I think.
Angry Again is on it, as is the Duke Nukem theme I think..

Nobody has answered my question about the bootleg concert.
the only megadeth album i have is peace sells :upset:

but im planniong on getting rust in peace (due to advice from this thread :thumb: )
Ya you cant go wrong there.Thats Megadeth at there thrashing peak. When i first picked up Killing is my bus i really did'nt care for it that much(now it's one of my faves)Really Peace sells is the one that got me hooked when it came out in 86.When i heard "peace sells"and "wake up dead" for the first time i was amazed and the rest is Megadeth history they have been my fav for many years now. While rust has got to be there best display of pure musical talent and incredible lyrics you should also check out SO FAR SO GOOD as this album is ****in great(has a sound unlike any other) the whole album stomps gotta love Mary Jane,502,In my darkest hour, set the world afire...like i said the whole thing kicks @ss.

I already posted this in the "other" catagory but this is where it needs to be.If anyone is interested i have an incredible 10 disc set of live one of a kind footage that was shot during the 1990 "RUST IN PEACE TOUR" it has been on tape for some time now just sitting around but has now found its way to dvd. This footage includes Dave and the band in the dressing room, onstage,in an airplane, motel room on so on(hours and hours of never before seen footage) any one that is interested leave me your contact info and i will send you the list which includes everything on the 10 discs,as it's way to long to list here. For those of you that havent seen my first post im a long time fan and huge collector of Megadeth.Let me know what your after and if i dont have a double of it i can most likely find it depending on it's rarity.

Yeah, that's the one. The version I got was just called "First Ever Gig With Kerry King.. etc." Burnt Offerings is one of the songs though. It has an interview with Mustaine at the end of it, if that defines it at all.

btoto 02-06-2005 04:40 PM

Chris Poland :thumb:

munky_magik 02-06-2005 04:44 PM

Pfft, Marty > all

Burdcheese 02-06-2005 04:46 PM
Pfft, Marty > all
I second that, if for Hangar 18 alone.

btoto 02-06-2005 04:47 PM

No ! Chris > Marty > Al > Glen > Dave

Al's stage performances were so hot ! :naughty:

i_love_my_epiphone 02-06-2005 04:48 PM

I third that

Agreed. Nobody fit as well with the band.

MAthiAS 02-06-2005 05:03 PM

Marty > Chris > Al

Not throwing Glen in there because he's just for the tour, though I think he did a killer job.
