i think it's always been popular, these albums just get reissued sometimes and reviews put on like Pitchfork etc... so then they pop up on the indie blogs where i randomly download them cause i like fela kuti. . .

cbmartinez 11-12-2009 11:54 AM

how is it ridiculous? they are probably the biggest indie rock band after the Pixies.

Kyle 11-12-2009 03:52 PM

Sonic Youth?

Yeah, Pavement reunion is pretty big though. I'm sure I'll catch it at some point next summer.

yeah i mean people have been holding out for years for this, i understand why there is so much hype, it still just seems a little overblown

Fuck Buttons - Tarot Sport

Listening to this record again and thinking, it's good, but also disappointing. Street Horrrsing was this really fresh sounding noise record, with its own unique sound, and I can see how they've tried to progress that sound but it hasn't really payed off. I wish they'd really committed to the electronic, almost techno sounds that are in the background, and made a completely different record to the debut. I still think there are some cool jams on here, just wish they'd challenged themselves a little more.

sgrevs 11-12-2009 08:33 PM

I really like the new Fuck Buttons.

With regard to Pavement, they're coming to Aus in March and I wanted to see them but it costs like $85, so I shan't. I also only really listen to CRCR and sometimes S&E.

cbmartinez 11-12-2009 08:42 PM

street horrrsing was one of the worst pieces of **** I've heard in a while but I've heard the new fuck buttons is good im gonna check them another chance
