Morphia is such an awesome track.
The intro is so intense and after that it only gets better. I have it in my cd player as night time music now  |
I love The Blood Of The Eyes.
|
Did a gig with Esoteric a bit ago. They made a lot more sense to me live than on record. Singer had a stupid "Madonna" headset mike though - looked very silly.
|
Kyuss are absolutely breath taking.

Wow, cool to hear. Do you enjoy their music? |

Esoteric is definitely one of my favorite "ultra slow death metal" bands. :p
Metamorphogenesis is the one I've given the most listens. The first song is hard to beat, when you're in the mood for that sort of thing. NP: Witchfinder General - Love on Smack |
np: Esoteric - Arcane Dissolution "Subconscious Dissolution Into The Continuum"
Esoteric, anyone?
Yes! Over here! Subconscious... is awesome, such an angry record. Epistemological Despondency is cool too, the second song is very grindcore/death. I wish they'd bring back the trippy stuff in their newer work. They sound like a fearsome live band, people have been known to just sit down on the ground and take it all in. And don't they have like 7 members on stage (2 keyboards, 3 guitars, drum 'n' bass)? |
Do you enjoy their music?
I wouldn't go that far!:p You could appreciate the power of their sound but all in all I wounldn't say I enjoyed it. There was a death/doom band on that night as well called Indesinence. Check em out if you like that kind of thing. Nice guys. Werny: as far as I remember there was only 6 members - lots of distorted vocals as well. In another Esoteric-related trivia - Their old drummer used to also play in another doom band called Unsilence. He was then replaced in Unsilence by a certain Mr J. Ondur |
I demands that this thread turns up the Candlemass and that Messiah rejoins them... Immediately.
|
Can someone recommend an album that sounds like Candlemass's EDM, please.
|
Ummm... Ancient Dreams and their self/titled.
|
Solitude Aeturnus, maybe?
|
New Isole comes out tomorrow
|
Everyone should check out Maiden Voyage now.
http://www.mp3.com.au/artist.asp?id=25396 Think Thergothon. |
What other albums by Lacrimas Profunde should I pick up beside the one sent out on the Daily Upload?
I think that La Naissance d'Un Reve is a pretty good album, but like someone else said, get Memorandum. |
I think i've mentioned Swallow The Sun a few times in this thread.
I think they're pretty good. A Doom/Death band from Finland. Very good vocalst, I love his deep growls. I've ordered Ghost Of Loss a while back, the special edition, with a dvd with a clip and some live material, it's good stuff, I can recommend it to fans of doom/death. I love the lyrics to descending Winter, not all that special but they fit very well with the feel of the music: Descending winters for all lands, All hope is gone, in his hands. out from the north, in to the south, winter turned his frozen mouth
Swallow The Sun is great. Their best song is Through Her Silvery Body. |
There's always been a lack of Skepticism talk here. What are people's thoughts on them?
I still need to get Aes, Lead & Aether and The Process of Farmakon. No one has them! I've heard most of Lead & Aether though, it's brilliant. |
I've got the Aeothe Kaear demo, and it's pretty good. I've only given it a quick listen so far, though.

I've got it downloading. If you like that, maybe get Stormcrowfleet (which has re-recorded versions of some songs from the demo) or Lead & Aether for something more artsy and better produced. |
I'm actually listening to Stormcrowfleet right now - it's wonderful. :)
And Swallow the Sun is definitely a good band. |

Unsilence are really good.
|
my distro doesn't carry any Unsilence though, and judging by the M-A page of them, it's hard to come by :(
