I've seen two versions of it. In one it only show's him saying, "what's your favorite?" and in the other he says some load of scripted crap about how you favorite song is like your favorite pair of jeans and then shows a quick shot of him singing the song.

Sleeper 09-16-2005 10:29 PM

I think i may have seen it, but i hope to catch it again.

I have found that Incubus have obviously become more mellow over the years but it still sounds good. I only have three albums and i have noticed the difference in each of them. But just because they are becoming more mellow doesnt mean they don't still kick ***. They have a awesome drummer, guitarist, dj, singer and their new bass guitarist doesnt sound bad too. Overall. INCUBUS RULE!

The gonkulator is a ring mod. He uses it in Glass, Pistola (briefly), and I think Smile Lines (he uses a ring mod in Smile Lines though I'm not sure it is the Gonkulator).

Have you seen the 'Alive at Red Rocks' DVD? If so, do you know what that thing is that he turns and it makes the guitar sound like water. He uses it in the "Pistola" and "Sick Sad Little World" solos.

Phaser/Flanger, there's no telling with Mike. His rig includes 2 Boss PH-2 Phasers, an MXR Phase 90, and a Boss BF-2 Flanger; so it could be any one of those. I'm not sure which part of the songs you're talking about, otherwise I could most definetely tell you. I think you're talking about the MXR Phase 90 though.

ibanez_line6 09-19-2005 04:38 PM

nah i haven't seen that DVD yet, i wanna get it so bad, i got there other DVD's and they are pretty cool

He uses it during the "Pistola" solo. He does a bend and twists the knob on that thing and it sounds like a ray gun. It's a big box looking thing. I have no idea what it is. It isn't a phaser or flanger. It's a box thing on a table. Any ideas?

Just got this from the Incubus newsletter:

SURF'S UP FOR INCUBUS!
Brandon and Mike's team won last Sunday's surfrider Celebrity surf jam in Huntington Beach, and Brandon was crowned MVP of the event. This week, Incubus' passion for surfing and music collide with the premiere of the new surfing documentary, Flow. Flow is a feature length documentary covering the life and history of legendary surfboard maker, Al Merrick and the Channel Islands Surf Team. For the film, Mike wrote the majority of the score while Brandon narrates the film. A number of Incubus songs pepper the flm as well. The band will attend the premiere tonight, September 19th, at the Arlington Theater in Santa Barbara, CA.

INCUBUS BEGINS RECORDING NEW ALBUM!
Incubus has re-entered the recording studio to begin writing and recording their fifth full-length album. Stay tuned to this space for all the details!

It is amazing. I saw them on the Crow Left Of The Murder tour a year ago and the DVD performance was exactly the same. It was like watching the same concert, but from the stage. The production quality is superb.

ibanez_line6 09-19-2005 08:53 PM

Awesome, new album coming out. Do you's reckon it will be even more mellow or will they bring back more of there metal/rock influence back into it. I am hoping for another S.C.I.E.N.C.E type album

Nice to see they are comming out with a new album, can't wait.

I highly doubt that will happen. First of all, Dirk Lance is gone, so the funk bass is gone. Second, they have seemed to mature alot musically. It still has an awesome groove, but in case you haven't noticed, they have become more musically advenced from album to album. I am expecting this album to be jazzy and hard rock. I'm imagining there will be more songs like "Make a Move" on it.

Sleeper 09-19-2005 09:03 PM

I wouldn't be surprised if it sounded more the Odyssey Movements, which would be awesome.

Yeah, it would be pretty sweet. I heard that song "Follow" and it reminded me of prog music for some reason. Probably be the time signature changes in it. Mostly in the intro riff.

now what i have found is that "follow" has differences from the first movement of the oddessy, and oddessy has a much better feel to the song

Sleeper 09-19-2005 09:24 PM

Thye fourth movement has the most beautiful build up at the end, but then ends.

aaahhh52 09-19-2005 09:25 PM

I think we're going to see a good mix of mellow and somewhat hard rock songs on the new alblum, i believe brandon just broke up with is longtime gf, well maybe not longtime but gf nonetheless, so i think we'll have some stellar/echo type of songs, stellar was inspired by his last gf i believe. Either way i cant wait.

Sleeper 09-19-2005 09:27 PM

I tend to like there songs more that are about Brandon's relationships.
Thye fourth movement has the most beautiful build up at the end, but then ends.
I get so pissed off when it ends, they could have milked that progression for 5 more minutes.

ween2424 09-19-2005 09:38 PM

I'm hoping to hear more jazzy piano songs like "Here In My Room." This album is going to be amazing no matter what. Brandon Boyd can sing anything and make it sound great. Ben and Mike also complement eachother perfectly when they play. It will be good no doubt.
