To hypocracy
I would personally never get a best of album. Floyd albums are made with concepts, best of albums would be too jumbled to enjoy. I never enjoy listening to a floyd song without hearing the entire album with it. I would say DSOTM which will take a while to get used to the first time The Wall which you should understand the story before listening Animals Wish you were Here then whatever from there. Wish you were here is a hard album to just appreciate, especially when your totally new to floyds style. Welcome to the Machine is my fav song on the album, but i dont just listen to it, i hear the whole album. Floyd is one of them bands the last song wouldnt of been half as good if the next or previous one wasnt there. The concepts are what make it as good as it is
Each to their own. I was suggesting that because theres like 4 songs from each album so buy that album if you like that group of song. :) |
Pfft, I got my Lynyrd Skynrd greatest hits for $7 ;). You could have easily bought it ;)
The debut plays like a greatest hits, what an album. |
I have every Doors and Zeppelin album,
I'm working towards every Pink Floyd one now though, I doubt I'll get "The Division Bell" though, from what I've heard it's pretty poor, unless someone can argue me into purchasing that is:p
I do have that album. Its there last one (1994) And its really not that bad. there defintaly trying to get intact with there earlier stuff, but my fav songs on the album are high hopes, Marooned, and What do you want from Me. I think i did a review on it actually. Why dont you check it out, but its defintaly far from there best album. |

Exactly my point, and can anyone help me? What album is "On Of These Days" off? |
Meddle
Thanks :thumb:, Is it worth buying d'you reckon? |
They asked a roadie, Studio Manager, and a think one of there band members several questions in the studio and put some of there answers in certain places on the CD. Those are all them guys talking you here in Speak to Me, Great Gig, Brain Damage and Eclipse
Waters asked normal people, like people off the street, as well. It turns out that Wings was in the same studio one day, so he asked their guitarist some questions. He gives the line that says "I don't know I was really drunk at the time." I never knew about the one at the very end though, that's pretty sweet. :thumb: I prefer buying cds too. Right now I have Meddle, DSOTM, WYWH, The Wall, and Animals. I'm getting Ummagumma for christmas and probably Piper At The Gates Of Dawn after that. And I don't think you should go with Echoes. Doesn't seem right buying a Floyd greatest hits album. |

They apparentley asked Paul and Linda McCartney, but their answers weren't "Innovative enough". |

Tr00f, buying Echoes would be a terrible idea. Buying each CD is more worth it. Most of them having a main concept, which would be messed up on a greatest hits CD. |
I Am Jimmy Page, get The Division Bell! Whoever said it's bad is LYING. Even Roger Waters said it was good. And he hated everyone in that band.
I also prefer to own CD's as opposed to burning them. Burning them just feels wrong. Hypocracy Hater, I have Atom Heart Mother. I really like it. Cool instrumental stuff. Distant echoes - *does jedi mind tricks* you will send me those sax tabs... you want to send me those tabs... Also, I am morally opposed to buying Echoes. I just don't like the idea of a Pink Floyd Greatest Hits. The albums are too much about the mood they make. |
Long live one of the best floyd Cds in history: Division Bell
NO! the best floyd cd ever is animals, not the division bell! the band was at its best when roger waters was still in the band and they're newer stuff just hasn't been the same since he left. |
Anyone got "Relics" ?
It's like a best of, but with work with only Sid. tracks: #1:arnold layne. #2:Interstellar Overdrive(awesome) #3:see emily play #4:remember a day #5: paintbox #6:julia dream #7:careful with that axe eugene #8:cirrus minor #9:the nile song #10:biding my time (extremely rare, or so I've been told) #11:bike. anyone who's got it, what do you think? I think it's pretty awesome. |

I dunno man, I've heard Marrooned and it's pretty strong stuff, I'll have to see how things pan out, I will probbably get it, not just now though. |
I don't have it, but I will now get it. That's a good track listing. From the ones I recognize, at least.

It's an unbeliveable set list Some of the strongest instrumentals recorded in history (personal favourites include: Interstellar overdrive, careful with that axe eugene, paintbox, cirrus minor etc) This was, after all my first Pink Floyd album, it's close to my heart, every track is a bloody gem. |

I'm not a huge fan of Roger Waters past the Wall, but I'm curious. |

Plus, waters was becoming a control freak by that point, I wouldn't get it. |

Careful With That Axe Eugene is one of my favorite Floyd songs ever, but I've only heard it on Ummagumma. I wonder what the Relics one sounds like. |

It's got a couple good songs, but very weak compared to the four albums preceding it (DSOTM, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall) |

I don't like pre-wall waters. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that i completely dislike "When The Tigers Broke Free" *edit: stuff after the wall, i dont really know the word for it though :( |

Edited,
i dont know the word that describes "After" something though :( |
