What I watched (they had to go after the first 5 songs or so) didn't seem as good as the S&M DVD, though that might have had something to do with the aforementioned issues.

I'll see when I watch it later.

I can't judge about the Live Shit thing. The only part I've seen is the drum off between James and Lars (which is great).

shadow_stalker 02-18-2005 09:54 AM

i really need to get the S&M dvd, but i refuse to pay more than £10!

houses_of_holy 02-18-2005 10:18 AM

the year and a half vids are excellent to watch

I got Cunning Stunts for about £8.50 (+Postage) :)
I think S&M cost about £10

Got both courtesy of the Amazon marketplace

Andrue 02-18-2005 10:27 AM

s&m was 24bucks locally, which isnt bad considering where i live and everything is jacked up beyond belief.

which unfortunatly means i may never get it

'A Year And A Half In The Life Of Metallica'
They're documentaries about the makin of the black album and the tour afterwards. They got loadsa music vids and live performances on them. Stuff like the Metallica/Guns Tour, Freddie Mercury Tribute concert etc.

Sever Child 02-18-2005 11:01 AM

not bad

btoto 02-18-2005 12:07 PM

Ok, your 5 favourite "Jaymz Vocals" songs:

1. Metal Militia (young James barked like a dog and I like it)
2. Damage Inc. (really, very agressive singing)
3. Loverman (James, I love you)
4. King Nothing (gimme some more rasp dude!)
5. Dirty Window (we get old, but still sing like a motherfvcker)

Iceman-rocker 02-18-2005 01:02 PM

you know the second solo in one? who likes the album version more?(clean) or the live version? (distortion).

Master Of Nebulah Frost 02-18-2005 01:27 PM

'One' has four solos, the intro, the classical, the main, and that duet-soloing Hetfield and Hammett do. I would choose the clean, album sound over their live playing. Just me.

btoto 02-18-2005 01:29 PM

It sounds better a bit distorted

I would distort it like the album version of Fade to Black is... That's the ground model i use for all the classical solo's by Kirk...

Deth 02-18-2005 03:10 PM

Dyers Eve
Fade to Black
The Unforgiven
Battery
Blackened
In no real order

Rasta Rocker 02-18-2005 03:19 PM

I think James sings great in pretty much all of his songs. But his studio voice is much rougher (if that's a word) than live..I prefer the studio voice better.

JACKROXYOU 02-18-2005 03:36 PM

Deth 02-18-2005 10:18 PM

I don't like his voice on one much, it's too raspy. *Looking at your username then at mine*.

CreepingDeath~ 02-18-2005 11:58 PM

I think his voice on One suits the song well, though I do agree his voice is raspy on the song.
