I'm not a big fan of Unsatisfied because the lyrics are plain and... "unsatisfying" for a Replacements song. All the other ballad-type songs are good but I keep coming back to Favorite Thing.
|
Rage Against the Machine.
One of those bands whos quality I forgot about. |
Brainiac - Hissing Prigs in Static Couture
Minsk - Out of a Center Which Is Neither Dead nor Alive Jesu - s/t Startlight Mints - Dream That Stuff Was Made Of And because of my pals' mix CDs, I've come to appreciate Busta Rhymes a lot more. |
Explosions In The Sky - The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place
Orgasmic. |
I was listening to a five song sampler from the Gnarls Barkley album earlier today. Judging from one listen, even if the rest of the songs are only half as good as those five, it will be the best album of the year yet to come out when it's released. The only kinda meh song out of the five was a cover of "Gone Daddy Gone," but even that was alright. Shee-it. Listening to some Cee-lo right now.

A couple new ones in the mail today -
Boards of Canada - Twoism Mum - finally we are no one |
Jerry Harrison - The Red and the Black
I was expecting this to be even more Remain In Light-ish. It's a good album, though. |
Soulwax - Nite Versions
Red Eyed Legends - The High I Feel When I'm Low My uni listening today. That REL ep is pretty cool. They could be a great band if they tightened up and focussed. |
Of Montreal - Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Oth
Lead Belly - In The Pines <--- Good Song |
Elliott Smith - Either/Or
|
Violent Femmes - Add it Up
The Beatles - The White Album You Am I - Hi-Fi Way |

Ghostface Killah - Fischscale
Great record. That 9.0 from everyone's favorite online publication will no doubt give it a few more listeners. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Show Your Bones I'm enjoy this more than I expected. Recently I've felt a lack of love for '06 albums so I decided to try a few more of them out, which is why I decided to give them another shot. I am pleasantly surprised. |
Last night i listened to
Swell Maps - Jane From Occupied Europe Because of Nikki Sudden's death 7 Seconds - The Crew Because of the fuss made about it in the punk forum Angry Samoans - Back From Samoa Because Angry Samoans are amazing |
Imogen Heap - Speak For Yourself - I'm really starting to enjoy this album after a few listens.
The National - Alligator (same as above) Immortal Technique - Revolutionary Vol. 2 |
Last night was filled with long-standing favorites. Debussy's first book of preludes for solo piano and Wire's Pink Flag, which seem to be two of the biggest influences on my own sound.
I've decided to stop posting my Last.fm. At least I'm not doing it this week. |
Blackalicious - Nia
This album might be as good as Blazing Arrow. Actually, no it's not but it is still one hell of a rap album. |
1 The Beatles 43
2 Stevie Wonder 21 3 Ryan Adams 14 3 The Beach Boys 14 3 Minus the Bear 14 6 The Raveonettes 13 7 Hot Snakes 11 8 Interpol 10 8 Bruce Springsteen 10 10 Son Volt 3 |
I am listening to the first Miles Davis I've ever heard on vinyl. A sextet (the Kind of Blue band with Bill Evans, not Wyn Kelly) live recording that I picked up for $4. It kind of sounds like shit, but the music isn't bad. Not great, either.
|
Alkaline Trio - Good Mourning
Hm. |
catena collapse-elektra boogie
hm. |
Prince - 3121
His best record in an age. Scrawl - Velvet Hammer Fast shooting up my list of the best albums ever. It gets better every time I hear it. |
Television Personalities - And Don't the Kids Just Love It
I didn't like this before but wow it's really good.
Is that that band that does that song "All the Young Children on Crack" or whatever it's called? Because wow that song is horrible. |
Slowdive - Souvlaki This sucks. Galaxie 500 pisses on this band.
So I got On Fire because of this post. Seriously, what do these two bands have to do with one another at all? |
1 Nick Drake 60
2 Heavy Vegetable 26 3 Radiohead 21 4 A Band Of Horses 17 4 Peter Tosh 17 6 Matisyahu 14 7 Get Him Eat Him 12 8 Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan 11 9 Jacob Miller 7 11 Bright Eyes 4 |

Solid shit.
Is that that band that does that song "All the Young Children on Crack" or whatever it's called? Because wow that song is horrible.
It's on their reunion album that was just released a couple of weeks ago, I think. From what I've heard it's not good, but they had a few really solid albums throughout the 80's. Check out the one Nacho mentioned for their best. |
hm i want to hear this band called mantits
http://www.angelfire.com/scary/mantits/mp3.html Just some weird dude with an acoustic guitar. I reccommend: "We're Just a Bunch of Multi-pronged Weird-*** Things" "Let Me ****ing Die" "Just be Thankful you're not Dead" |
Stiff Little Fingers - Inflammable Material
Awesome Irish punk raaaaaawk album released in 1979. Think the speed and fury of bands like The Sex Pistols, Dead Kennedys and Black Flag with the intelligence of The Clash and The Buzzcocks. A must have for any punk fan. |
Ghostface Killah - Fishscale
Seriously. Damn, I'm still loving it. Gets better each time I listen to it through. It makes me really anxious to hear the Ghostface + MF Doom record later this year. |
