This I have to disagree with. I liked none originally but now I've come to appreciate about half of their stuff...more like a third actually. Scenes from a memory, Train of Thought...great albums. Octavarium's title track is great, some of Six Degrees is good, but I felt the latest effort was quite weak. I'm hoping for a better showing this time around.

All DT is the same. Wanky solos and bad vocals.

Dream Theater would be so much better if they wouldn't have those 5-10 minute sections in their songs where they show how many time signatures they can play in. Even without those, they wouldn't be that good, though.

Yeah but even the "cohesive" stuff isn't even that good. Infact, it's kind of boring.

It can be. It can be really entertaining too though. There are some songs by them that I absolutely love...usually the stuff that they build up on can be very tasteful.

The new album for what i've heard of it has more ToT elements than most of their stuff. It's pretty heavy, and the big choruses are more memorable. idk, i like it a lot.
