Hey dudes dream theater plays the most difficult songs, but the metallica are thrashers and thats why i like them. But I still cant say that Ulrich is better than Portnoy
Every member of DT is better at their respective instruments than everyone in Metallica technicality wise.

Burdcheese 01-06-2005 07:19 AM

How does Munky do it? always saying things that make me want to say "true" (or 123 back in the day)

Because he knows all

Or maybe he doesn't......

So,

10 Kill'em All
8 Ride the Lightning
8 Master of Puppets
9 ...And Justice for All
12 Black Album
7 Load (Only 7 of 14 I can listen to)
2 Reload(The Unforgiven II and Fuel)
5 Garage Inc.
2 S&M
That makes 63 songs that are really worth.

Burdcheese 01-06-2005 07:24 AM

The truly wise man knows that he knows nothing

I could waste an awful lot of time working out how many good songs Metallica have.

Or I could just say no

and you missed St. Anger of your list :p
(see if he can pass the n00b test)
hey everyone,
i get the first post of 2005 lol, Metallica IS the best band of all time. I've heard over 100 of their songs and i loved every single one, i recommend any older Metallica song to anyone to listen to and i bet they would love it.
some of my favs. are: seek and destroy, master of puppets, motor breath, for whom the bell tolls, fade to black, ride the lighting, welcome home(sanitarium), thats some of their old stuff which i perfer more, but their newer stuff is still awesome, anyway, listen to Metallica and you'll become hooked! rock on!
What? There is a good band called .....how you say......Me-tall-ica?

Jesus hun, we didnt just all crawl out from under a rock for f*cks sakes.

This is right and also I cant stand how is Hetfield better than Labrie when Hetfield propably cant read notes at all!!! Thats why he cant sing the same notes at live concerts

Burdcheese 01-06-2005 07:31 AM

Hetfield > Labrie live

Labrie is the only weak link in Dream Theater.

Senseless flaming of any member of Metallica is not tolerated in this thread unless you can sure as hell back it up

If you like any Song of St Anger you dont know music. Even the newbies in my country play better songs.

Burdcheese 01-06-2005 07:33 AM

no sir.

You failed the n00b test - you are a n00b/newbie.

munky_magik 01-06-2005 07:35 AM
If you like any Song of St Anger you dont know music. Even the newbies in my country play better songs.
so because I like some music from St. Anger, I don't know music?

*promises to leave it after this*

Burdcheese 01-06-2005 07:36 AM

This guy is getting pwned - I'm enjoying this

Ok forget about Labrie. Lets see. Petrucci playes at sure better guitar than Hammet. Portnoy is a real drummer I've got nothing else to say. Myung is the best bassist I've ever seen. But even if Metallica aren't good enough, I like them a lot for their old ****. They have tried hard and they succeeded.

Burdcheese 01-06-2005 07:38 AM

^^We've already discussed that.

/wins

munky_magik 01-06-2005 07:39 AM
/wins
I believe that was inevitable:p

Burdcheese 01-06-2005 07:39 AM

But of course...

So, even if I think St. Anger sucks......that will label me as a "n00b" forever more? I might as well go for that tattoo now.

Please dont call me a n00b and Pwn me. I cannot take the agony, how will I explain when I have grandchildren?

*agrees that Metallica are better overall*

I didn't call anyone a noob for not liking st anger, I didn't try and pwn you.
I'm sure your grandchildren will understand why I didn't.

Lars_ironcobra_doublepedal 01-06-2005 07:53 AM

I just try to see the things exactly as they are.

munky_magik 01-06-2005 07:55 AM
I just try to see the things exactly as they are.
a better statement would be:" I try to see things exactly as they are to me". Things appear differently to different people and it helps to be tollerant of this fact.

Macdaddy 01-06-2005 07:57 AM

i heard drummer from dream theater was first rock drummer (rest have been the jazz greats) to be inducted in the drummer hall of fame. my mate who drums and likes them told me that.

btw who thinks bass parts from metallica are hard? because of the ones i have looked at hell easy. im sure there are some complex ones could someone please suggest them to me.

LiZZySkYnRd7^ 01-06-2005 08:00 AM

Hmm.....but burdcheese said this........*and you missed St. Anger of your list
(see if he can pass the n00b test)*

and then when the other guy said saint anger sucks.......

he said this ....*no sir.

You failed the n00b test - you are a n00b/newbie.*

Or have my powers of Columbo like reasoning failed me?

your reasoning is fine, it's just that it had nothing to do with me :)

Lars_ironcobra_doublepedal 01-06-2005 08:05 AM

Dont tread on me!!!!!!!!
I know my English are too bad munky magic.

Good because I'd look proper foolish with this glass eye if I wasn't a brilliant detective.

*note to self: Burdcheese "n00b tests" are dumb.

Lars_ironcobra_doublepedal 01-06-2005 08:17 AM

He thinks that what he likes is always good and we must like it too

Burdcheese 01-06-2005 09:25 AM

I shall explain the n00b test to you.
It has nothing whatsoever to do with whether you like St. Anger or not
and you missed St. Anger of your list :p
(see if he can pass the n00b test)
Here the ":p" indicates a joke
If a serious response along the line of:
If you like any Song of St Anger you dont know music. Even the newbies in my country play better songs.
is given then, clearly the joke has not been recognised and thus he is a n00b.

The general idea behind this being that pretty much all people dislike St. Anger (and thus aren't going to think there are any good songs on it)

Shred Danson 01-06-2005 09:46 AM
