I'm rediscovering "falling into infinity". It's pop, sure. But good one. A little bit pretentious, but good enough for me to like it.

eug008 09-13-2006 05:33 PM

It's got a few nice tracks on it I guess. (Peruvian Skies, Hollow Years, Hell's Kitchen etc.)

Best pop album IVE ever heard.:thumb:

Inkstar 09-13-2006 11:28 PM

Yeah, I really like FiF. Some great songs on there, despite being extremely restricted as to what the band could write. New Millenium, Hell's Kitchen, Take Away My Pain, Hollow Years, Peruvian Skies.. good stuff.

ghettoeddo 09-14-2006 12:07 AM

i <3 peruvian skies...so much.

Hmm no I'd disagree with that.

eug008 09-14-2006 01:09 AM

Don't worry man we still like Dream Theater, were you ever a dt fan plexi?

Charlie Manson 09-14-2006 01:11 AM

Nah back when "Images and Words" was about so many musicians I thought had good taste were all like "THIS IS INSANE IT'S REALY COOL!" so I sunk $29.95aud of my hard earned cash into buying it and to be perfectly honest it is the worst $29.95aud I've ever spent.

eug008 09-14-2006 01:48 AM

It cost you $30??? Where abouts did you buy it and why do you dislike it?

Inkstar 09-14-2006 02:45 AM

Wait? What's that?

Ink has premium tickets to the G3 concert in Brisbane? Oh.. and what's that? Ink gets to meet John Petrucci and Mike Portnoy backstage? And.. he's in the third row at the concert?

I thought so.

Lord Abortion 09-14-2006 03:19 AM

FII has alot of my favourite DT songs on it, but they're better on live albums.

Sanity at Sydney Airport.

I dislike the following:
* Lyrics that try to sound deep but fail dismally.
* Vocals that lack emotion.
* Very generic drumming.
* A general lack of exciting atmosphere throughout the CD.

I like the following:
* The soprano sax solo in Another Day.

hmm that says alot about the quality of his vocalism...

jpshortstuff 09-15-2006 03:19 PM

Sacrificed Sons has got to be one of the most fun songs to play. the instrumental section i mean. its great. after watching it on Score i had to learn it.

ghettoeddo 09-15-2006 05:46 PM
hmm that says alot about the quality of his vocalism...
to each his own.
the latest performance on score shows labrie at the top of his game and he's solid man. solid. his range is amazing and he's got quite a powerful voice.

and again manson...he was maiden's first choice for replacing bruce dickinson if that says anything.

eug008 09-15-2006 07:41 PM

Yeah, I dunno what your talkin about plexi he's a great vocalist...

Atica 09-15-2006 08:33 PM

Yeah!!!! I just bought Score!!! I'm so happy. :p I was lucky because at the store I just saw it and grabbed it without knowing if I was able to buy it, and then a guy came in and asked for it, but I said I was going to buy it so when my parents came into the store they bought it, and I gave them the money in the house. :p

Txus 09-16-2006 08:44 AM

I'm getting obsessed with Hollow Years (Live at Budokan version). I'm not a big DT fan but I've been listening to them more and more lately. My band wants to cover Pull Me Under or As I Am, should be fun :)
