Gav, if you banned me, you're a bitch.
And I say it for the third time:

I did not ban you. I do not know who did.

do you guys thing they way emo is seen in popular cultrue is destorying the word emo it self? The faishon trend, the pop rock bands, the ppl that consdier them selves emo would you consider it a travesty of the word?

whiteminority 05-12-2006 11:28 PM

Yeah, I tend to avoid its usage unless I know the person knows what I mean; otherwise I just say hardcore.

Brain Toad 05-12-2006 11:33 PM

If I'm talking to someone about music, I may throw out the phrase, just to catch them off guard and get a chance to school them. But I'll avoid if I know the person is not willing to learn. But it's rare I talk to people about my music tastes these days.

rise89 05-12-2006 11:36 PM

you know i was thinking you cant really be a true emo cause real emo really had no faishon trend right?

whiteminority 05-12-2006 11:38 PM

You can't be an emo period. Emo is not a pronoun.

Mute Print 05-12-2006 11:42 PM
Yeah, I tend to avoid its usage unless I know the person knows what I mean; otherwise I just say hardcore.
Same here. Most people I know are convinced of three things when it comes to emo:

1. Emo is short for emotional.
2. Bands such as My Chemical Romance are emo.
3. A person can be emo.

Because of that, I tend to avoid the term so I don't have to spend the time trying to explain what I mean. Most people around here would think I didn't know what I was talking about if I tried to explain emo to them anyway.

bottlerocket 05-13-2006 07:47 AM

Yeah, it's Chris (cb).

Yeah, if someome says emo I school them. They usually are like "stfu go listen to ur screamy crap lol" and I'm like *sigh*. I just try to ignore it.

Normally I would say yeah because I like LLE, but I think everyone should buy the new Tool cd.

RetiredAt21 05-13-2006 11:15 AM

I would've went with Love Like Electrocution.

whiteminority 05-13-2006 11:17 AM

Wrong answer Justin. Tool is the correct answer.

SGlove 05-13-2006 11:39 AM

I don't like Tool.

Crunchwrap Supreme! 05-13-2006 11:45 AM
Wrong answer Justin. Tool is the correct answer.
The chances that'd he find that LL...E CD are very slim, he made the right choice. Tool is probably being sold at every music store around the world.

RetiredAt21 05-13-2006 11:50 AM

It is. Tool is mad mainstream.

whiteminority 05-13-2006 12:03 PM

That LL...E is a fairly easy to find cd, but then again I am a spoiled American.

RetiredAt21 05-13-2006 12:04 PM

I don't see too many Love Like...Electrocution CDs around...

bottlerocket 05-13-2006 12:06 PM
Find out who did it so I can terrorize them.
If they want to tell you, they can. I'm not allowed to tell you who did. Sorry. :(

RetiredAt21 05-13-2006 01:25 PM

C'mon, no one will know...

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 05-13-2006 03:32 PM

I've never seen a LL...E cd besides on the computer screen.

cobert 05-13-2006 04:00 PM

Yeah, i'd get LLE because you can find the other ones almost anywhere.

I do the same thing as Brain Toad (dont know his real name). If im talking about music, i tend to name bands, but if i name genres, i throw emo in there. Every once in a while someone will say something about my chemical romance, and i give them a good explanation.

I love when people say emo is short for emotional, because then almost all music would be emo, and that's stupid.
