Ah, I need something cheap. :*(
Man...that's a really great album. I listened to it for the first time yesterday, thinking it might be a bit overhyped, but even based on two listens, I can see why everyone thinks it's so incredible. Especially for an album that long, it's just of such outstanding quality that it's untrue. Although Faap De Oiad (sp?) is a really disturbing song. Listening to it for the first time at 1:30 this morning probably wasn't the best idea, in hindsight.

EDIT: To Bartender
Yep, nothing worse than lying in bed, relaxing to the sounds of Disposition, Reflection and Triad, only to have some static and then a crazy man screaming "GOVERNMENT CONSPIRACY" disturb your sleep. :(

Dancin' Man 12-26-2004 05:38 PM

I bought 4 new CDs today.

Porcupine Tree - In Absentia
Opeth - Blackwater Park
Dillinger Escape Plan - Miss Machine
Meshuggah - Destroy Erase Improve

I already had every song from each of those on my computer but it was time to buy the real thing.

P.S. Lateralus is still my favorite album of all time.

munky_magik 12-26-2004 05:40 PM

oooh...whats the PT cd like? I've been thinking about getting some of their stuff

Dancin' Man 12-26-2004 06:06 PM

It's really good. It was the only CD in that list that I didn't have the entire thing. I also don't mind not having the import of Opeth - BwP because one of the extras sucks. I wish it had Patterns in the Ivy pt. 2 though.

Simple Man 12-26-2004 06:25 PM

Haha, That's good.

CaptainWaits 12-26-2004 07:31 PM

Nah, Meshuggah's the only good one he got

Arucard 12-26-2004 07:36 PM

Ok, only two more chapters and i complete HL2.

Bartender 12-26-2004 07:49 PM

Good for you.

Or is it good? Will your life be incomplete once you've finished it?

munky_magik 12-26-2004 07:51 PM
Nah, Meshuggah's the only good one he got
be quiet you.
Anyway so I just listened to Meshuggah - I, and wow....that is one crazy piece of music. I love it though. The playing is so good in it, it really is crazy. And some of the riffage is just amazing

Bartender 12-26-2004 07:53 PM

Yeah, that's one of the few Meshuggah songs I can really like. Luckily it's also fairly long.

Arucard 12-26-2004 08:18 PM

Yeh, i dont want to complete it. :(
Its so fooking scary i swear, one chapter you are in this 'abandoned village' ooooooh, and you have to fight of all these head crabs and stuff, BUT ITS SO SCARY.

Paranoidd 12-26-2004 11:36 PM
I have a confession about I...I actually like it. For those of you who know my tastes, that'll doubtless surprise you, but I can really dig that as a song. And their drummer is incredible.
Tomas Haake 0wns.

And thank you to whomever closed that last "omg modern rock sucks" thread, it was raising my blood pressure.
Nice work, Rob. Flu? Diorrhea? Herpes?
I ate some bad mussels the night before.

Woke up at 10, opened a couple presents, threw up at 11.
Went to visit family by 12, flu-like symptoms had set in.
Slept until 8 pm.
Woke up, had some soup, had teh diarrhea, back to sleep until midnight.
Woke up, went home, slept until 10 this morning, felt much better.

Kingofdudes 12-27-2004 12:09 AM

Im debating if I should play more Halo 2, or just chill on mx :/

Riva 12-27-2004 12:13 AM

Chill on MX with us ;-*

So yeah, Eric Clapton and Richard Clapton were right next to each other on my randomised playlist.

RiceMonster 12-27-2004 12:18 AM

I got a new stereo, some CDs, band t-shirts, guitar strings, strap and picks, band t-shirts and other cloths for Christmas.

Kingofdudes 12-27-2004 12:18 AM

O shi!

So I have decided that I will get more serious about guitar. I am gonna start taking music theory next week, practice a lot more, buy a better electric, buy an amp, and try to develop a tone of my own.

RiceMonster 12-27-2004 12:19 AM

I want to buy a 100 watt marshall but I don't have the money. I should get a part time job.

Riva 12-27-2004 12:23 AM

Fix'd. <3 you, Aaron. :)

Oh, yeah, did I mention I'm splurging on a Strat with a maple fret board? Getting it for mates rates too. :D

Kingofdudes 12-27-2004 12:24 AM

 I was actually talking to Brian about trying to emulate David Gilmour's tone today at work.

He will be an influence though

Riva 12-27-2004 12:26 AM

What looked better? My old or my new avatar...

*Is seriously undecided*
