\m/Pete\m/ 01-05-2005 03:42 PM

Jack that is a pretty good cd you recommended

I've heard the Dark Tranquility and In Flames covers

and Sonata Arctica's cover sounds awesome

Burdcheese 01-05-2005 04:23 PM

I've seen that CD a few times - never thought of getting it.
I have nearly bought the Apocalyptica album on several occasions though. (cheap in Belgium :thumb: )

munky_magik 01-05-2005 04:31 PM

They usually have Metallica - Bay area Thrashers really cheap in Amsterdam airport, I just never have any money when I go through.

Really? I haven't heard it, but I heard DT butchered it. If I'm wrong and it's great, I'd really like to hear it.

scottroberts 01-05-2005 06:19 PM

hey everyone,
i get the first post of 2005 lol, Metallica IS the best band of all time. I've heard over 100 of their songs and i loved every single one, i recommend any older Metallica song to anyone to listen to and i bet they would love it.
some of my favs. are: seek and destroy, master of puppets, motor breath, for whom the bell tolls, fade to black, ride the lighting, welcome home(sanitarium), thats some of their old stuff which i perfer more, but their newer stuff is still awesome, anyway, listen to Metallica and you'll become hooked! rock on!

do they really have 100 songs?? they've only had 1 or 2 albums over 10 songs and thats Black and Garage (i dont kno about (re)load)

i don't know about THE best, but they are definitely in the top 2 (i haven't decided about the other one, but they are amazing

Freezing Moon 01-05-2005 08:43 PM
do they really have 100 songs?
They have right around 100, not including live albums (obviously). I have all of it but the second disc of S&M, Garage Inc., and St. Anger and there is 85 songs. Probably very close to 100.

guitarcreep13 01-05-2005 09:35 PM

Lets do the math!

10 Kill em all
8 ride the lightning
8 master or puppets
9 ...And Justice for all
12 black
14 load
13 reload
27 garage inc
2 s&m (New ones)
11 st. Anger
+12 B-sides and runoffs
126

WOW! 126 songs.

If you dont want to count garage inc,
then it's 99

Only the vocals are bad. Musically its great - Petrucci makes it all look frightfully easy :(

Petrucci makes everything look frightfully easy :(
And yeah....Labrie's voice really doesn't suit Metallica. At all.

supra_speed 01-06-2005 04:36 AM

any1 kno what happened to thrash metal :( . . . . gone?

munky_magik 01-06-2005 04:37 AM

True

/is jealous
And yeah....Labrie's voice really doesn't suit Metallica. At all.
Well that too, but more in that at that performance it kept faltering. But I've heard that happens to Labrie quite a lot live anyway

munky_magik 01-06-2005 06:06 AM

he seems to have difficulty projecting his voice and finishing his words when he sings live. And he seems to be constantly outta breath.

hello.com 01-06-2005 06:52 AM

Good riddance to thrash metal
any1 kno what happened to thrash metal :( . . . . gone?
Thrash metal is absolute $hit!!

Soz to be so blunt, but it shows no musical talent, just thrashing as fast a you can on bottom E.....
I think the best is from master of puppets - black album.
Nu metal - don't even get me started!!

Burdcheese 01-06-2005 07:04 AM

^^ *sigh*

Lars_ironcobra_doublepedal 01-06-2005 07:10 AM

Hey dudes dream theater plays the most difficult songs, but the metallica are thrashers and thats why i like them. But I still cant say that Ulrich is better than Portnoy

Lars_ironcobra_doublepedal 01-06-2005 07:14 AM

Albums that are worth...

The songs of Metallica that are really worth are till the Black Album. After the Black Album the most songs sound like newbies songs.

Noone in there right mind will, though I'm totally against Lars being flamed based on ability* - he's good but not the best by a long shot

*OMG - LARZ CRNT KEeP TYM LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!1111"
