Who else can pull off a polyrhythm at 210 bpm?
thats what it says under the drum forums link
isnt everything a drummer does a polyrythym? - im confused

rybass 06-12-2005 09:05 AM

Hey guys...

gaslight 06-12-2005 09:11 AM

A polyrhythm is two or more contrasting rhythms played at the same time.

And hey rybass, what's happening?

rybass 06-12-2005 09:19 AM

Just jammin' on some Metallica...early Metallica that is.

jaco jr 06-12-2005 09:24 AM

hey y'all - is it me or is dadg tuning, nightwish, rhcp and someof your own bands tabs a great combination for playing bass?
i love dark chest of wonders - the bass is just easy and fun
and stuff like by the way by the chillis - great fun :thumb:

Nice, I'm remixing a Mogwai song in Cool Edit Pro 2 at the moment.

rybass 06-12-2005 09:33 AM

Mogwai???

fatbandit 06-12-2005 09:43 AM

Remixing? How do you go about doing that to a fully mastered and bounced track? I should learn this kind of thing really.

:smash:

gaslight 06-12-2005 09:49 AM

I don't know, I have the individual parts :).

rybass 06-12-2005 09:52 AM

What is Mogwai?

fatbandit 06-12-2005 10:14 AM

How'd you get the individual parts?

rybass 06-12-2005 10:30 AM

****...that solo at the end of Orion is tricky.

gaslight 06-12-2005 10:32 AM

Mogwai are a band, and I got the individual parts because for some unknown reason, when you buy Mogwai's album Happy Songs For Happy People, it comes with a free demo of Cubase SX and all the master parts for the song Hunted By A Freak.

It's well generous and heaps of fun. I use Cool Edit Pro 2 though, I couldn't get my head around Cubase.

rybass 06-12-2005 10:33 AM

That's pretty cool

rybass 06-12-2005 10:34 AM

Did anyone know there was a bass solo in that Orion song? I just found out last week that it was bass and not guitar. And I'm not talking about that slow part in the middle or whatever.

gaslight 06-12-2005 10:40 AM
That's pretty cool
It is :D. I'm having great fun with it, and I'm pretty pleased with what I've made so far. I'll post it for you guys when I'm happy with it.

Haha.

Oh man, I'm like a little kid with this crap.

Jamie 06-12-2005 11:11 AM

Gaslight: see the thread about Camp CK, i posted a link to the kappernicus EP for you (the band i wanted you to have a listen of)

:thumb:

fatbandit 06-12-2005 11:37 AM

Rybass, yes, yes I did! I know it, but I play it hella sloppy. Seeing as I'm never going to play it in a band situation

Gaslight, that's pretty cool... If I ever release an album, I want to do something like that I think :)
