Hey guys, you probably don't know me, I don't post in this thread that much but I frequent it regularly. Anyway, as some of you may know I'm the singer of the band Torn Apart (www.torn-apart.com), an upcoming swedish death metal band. We are currently in a competition which if we win, we got to play at the Sweden Rock Festival (Not to mention a huge merit)

So, if you guys could go to http://www.swedenrock.com/frameset.cfm?pageID=397 and just enter "Torn Apart" in the field it would mean alot to me and the band! Keep Death Metal alive and all that!
why the **** are we talking about jfac
They're DM

jrowa001 01-27-2008 11:15 AM

ive been listening to White Label by Ted Maul a lot lately. who else likes these guys?
So like, TteotD lost Nate and Josh amirite.
Yeah, and now they have a decent vocalist and a decent drummer instead of a terrible vocalist and a boring drummer.

Squirrel 01-27-2008 02:32 PM

Josh was pretty swe0t in my opinion, I enjoyed his work.

Nate i could give or take, wasn't too fussed. I prefered him of Anthony, though.

Any word as to why they left?

i am the robots 01-27-2008 02:41 PM

Nate's joining Since The Flood supposedly (wtf?).

And damn son Anthony was so much more into it, you could just tell.

And I'm still gonna say Dayton > Josh.

Squirrel 01-27-2008 02:44 PM

I totally fell in love with some of Joshs stuff, from the breakdown til the end of A Catastrophe of Epic Proportions is pure ear sex for me, its not technically amazing but i jsut love it, completely relentless.

I loved the drum production too.

I have this inkling that Justin may be pretty hard to get on with, especially on tour. Hate to say that, seeing as ive never met him, though.

edit plus josh was cute amirite

i am the robots 01-27-2008 02:47 PM

Well, him and Anthony are apparently still boys, and apparently Josh quit TTEOTD because:
i hate jake ososkie. i was supposed to take the jake thing down. but ITS MY ****ING OPINION quit crying about it. hes a raging homosexual.
And here's Josh's new band:

Squirrel 01-27-2008 03:08 PM

What a strange band hah.

Wonder why he hates jake so much, definitely some animosity there.

i am the robots 01-27-2008 03:09 PM

yeah idk, jakes myspace name is snake though, so i might just take his word for it

jebus FX 01-27-2008 05:05 PM

boring

DBlitz 01-28-2008 10:08 AM

Used to find death metal boring, only listened to melodic death metal but recently heard some technical death metal... The Red Chord's first album (if it counts) and The Faceless album; Akeldema (also if it counts >_>).

Any more good technical death out there?

Tyler 01-28-2008 10:09 AM

Anata - Conductor's Departure.

Wouldn't consider either of what you named to be tech-death though.

jrowa001 01-28-2008 10:15 AM

Quo Vadis

Tyler 01-28-2008 10:21 AM

Quo Vadis isn't "tech death" either. Just melodic death.

jrowa001 01-28-2008 10:27 AM

oh :(

Decapitated are really good, I would try some Necrophagist as well.

Tyler 01-28-2008 01:07 PM

He hasn't been around in forever, no. He'll drop in now and again but not like he used to.

repcak 01-28-2008 01:11 PM

thats sad, he was a great member who contributed a lot!

i am the robots 01-28-2008 02:37 PM

a lot of people are just sick of some of the regs attitudes

allan never posts anymore, not that he ever really posted itt

I remember when that happened on another forum. Then I discovered callousness and trolling.

Nostalgia 01-28-2008 08:50 PM

Stoic was like the kindest poster on this site. Apparently he isn't dead, but I don't know what's going on

In addition to what's already been mentioned, check out:

Atheist-Unquestionable Presence
Lykathea Aflame-Elvenefris
Spawn of Possession-Cabinet

i am the robots 01-28-2008 09:25 PM

some stuff (regardless of being technical) you'll more than likely enjoy:
Animosity
Despised Icon
Knights Of The Abyss
All Shall Perish
Hacksaw To The Throat
The Red Shore

Angmar 01-28-2008 09:28 PM

Gorod are also great tech death.

here comes the bird flu 01-28-2008 09:43 PM

The Mindflayers Addiction is the shit

i am the robots 01-28-2008 09:47 PM

their name is awesome, as are their song titles

and yeah, theyre okay

here comes the bird flu 01-28-2008 09:48 PM

their other songs are meh.

i am the robots 01-28-2008 09:50 PM

yeah, basically

vocals in by beard and throne or whatever sound like cradle of filth :/

here comes the bird flu 01-28-2008 09:56 PM

they are fun, though. It's like old school death metal but at the same time Gothenberg with a party-metal essence.
Anata - Conductor's Departure.
Awesome, read your review about it, melodic and technical? I look forward to this
Quo Vadis
If they are even a bit technical, I'd want to listen to it
Decapitated are really good, I would try some Necrophagist as well.
Hmm, which album for Necrophagist? Looks like Winds of Creation is the one to get from Decapitated, not sure about it though.

edit - also I'll try to check out stuff posted on this page

Tyler 01-29-2008 12:12 AM

Forget Necrophagist. Get both Gorod's albums instead

Angmar 01-29-2008 12:14 AM
Forget Necrophagist. Get both Gorod's albums instead
Yeah

And get Winds of Creation by Decapitated for sure.
