i honestly do. i'm not really trying to be funny i just really don't care. but i got around 7-8albums today and the Seance sticks out from the rest.
You don't listen to or enjoy music, you catalogue it. And, as emphasised, you name drop it.

You'll regret it in time.

rattlehead42147 11-26-2007 09:07 PM

you really don't know how i listen to music so stop making assumptions. i get a lot of it at a time in a short period (like a week) and then stop downloading and spend probably a good month listening to it all. i've got a lot of non metal stuff to listen to which kind of eats up some time too.

Tyler 11-26-2007 09:08 PM

I dont know but you really give off the vibe of a guy who downloads 10 albums a day, listens to them once, mentions them in passing and then grabs ten more. I'm telling you, slow down.

Aakon_Keetreh 11-26-2007 09:09 PM

Downloading to many cds can be addictive

Tyler 11-26-2007 09:10 PM

Downloading compulsively becomes a chore, and in turn, takes a lot of the fun out of finding and listening to music.

Aakon_Keetreh 11-26-2007 09:11 PM

Cocaine knows his ****.

pate 11-26-2007 09:12 PM

I make a list of **** I want, then wait a few weeks. Then when I finally get it the enjoyment is better.

rattlehead42147 11-26-2007 09:13 PM

i can understand that. its sort of what i've been doing lately but i've found so much good material recently its been fueling me to get more. but i always slow down eventually, and as i've said before i like to give things at least two listens because my impression often changes on the second time which leads to more listening.
to be honest i actually look at the play counts on my ipod to see whats been played only once and make sure i go back and listen to it, that's how particular i am about it.

Same. I use the Wishlist feature on RYM a lot. I have a shitload of music. A chunk of it is from a brief stage when I succumbed to compulsion and I regret it.

Yeah but this makes me get the idea that you take music as a chore. You gotta have fun with it.

rattlehead42147 11-26-2007 09:19 PM

you are right there, i will keep those things in mind. for example as of late i've been on a Jeff Buckley kick i cant stop listening to his stuff. i think his music fits the thread perfectly.
time for an avatar change.
Downloading compulsively becomes a chore, and in turn, takes a lot of the fun out of finding and listening to music.
This is pretty much the truth.

In the past year or so I have hardly downloaded anything. Just a few albums here and there and finding other ways to preview music and then buying/downloading it so I don't get to many albums at once.

Every since I started doing that, I have been able to go through my back list of music I haven't really listened too because of being an impulse downloader. Becuase of doing that I missed out on alot of music I enjoy now because I passed it up after the first listen to go and get more and more.

NemesisDivina 11-26-2007 09:24 PM

i'm not sure if there's room for two jeff buckley avatars in R&M

i am the robots 11-26-2007 09:24 PM

You're both gayer than me. @ Hbp and Rattle

And yeah, previewing things is bettar.

Tyler 11-26-2007 09:24 PM

hbp doesnt' deserve to listen to Jeff Buckley so whatever.

Tyler 11-26-2007 09:27 PM

Why would I want to listen to THE HIGHEST RATED ALBUM IN SPUTNIKSVILLE?

NemesisDivina 11-26-2007 09:34 PM

His is way better than yours tbh

http://fredfred.net/skriker/images/fred/music/jeff_buckley/still_amazinggrace.jpg

I think that's it.

@rattle

rattlehead42147 11-26-2007 09:36 PM

i went to google and typed jeff buckley, grabbed the first Grace pic i saw, and uploaded it. i get 0 points for effort.
on his pic i almost cant even tell that's him. it's the light/angle i guess.

my paul masvidal/jason gobel avatar was way too small. :(
Why would I want to listen to THE HIGHEST RATED ALBUM IN SPUTNIKSVILLE?
i wanted to see what all the buzz was about so i got it from the library a few months back. its worth the effort.
hey all.....any other death metal fans/jeff buckley fanboys in here?

Jeff Buckley
So I really like this Depresy that Poofy reccomended a few pages back. Has anyone else listened to it?
Yeah, its good stuff. The intro to Lunar Spell is so epic sounding.

Everything is so epic sounding, tbh. It kinda took me by surprise. The riffs are absolutely crushing and the symphonic elements are used very tastefully to where they don't sound cheesy/gay or anything.
