Actually, in Gridlock'd, he plays a bassist in a beat-poetry combo that are on the verge of attaining success outside of their local club, and he does it rather well. Admittedly his character is a junkie, but then the push of the story is that he and his friend (the keyboard player of the group) manage to choose a bad day to try and kick the habit.

EDIT: Just remembered I've seen him in another, too. I can't remember the name, but he played a corrupt cop (the uncertain, what-am-I-doing kind, not Denzel Washington-in-Training-Day "I'm the fu[font=verdana]c[/font]king PO-lice!"-kind). He was quite good in that too, I think.
