Well first of all my mic kinda sucks compared to this. It's just AKG's lowest end Condenser and pretty much sucks for most things.

And this looks very good for the price. I.e. good specs, not very well known brand as far as mics go, but his mic pres and compressors are highly regarded. So I went for it.

Mainly going to use it in omni for acoustic guitar, my uke that I got for xmas and my harmonica. Then for vocals I'll switch it to cardioid.

I wanna also see what I can get away with on drums with this technique of using like three mics as well. Too bad I can't afford two of them.

*enough microphone ranting*

Might try it on my bass amp if I have the balls to put it next to it at high volumes :amaze:

I always have empathy for mics that are stuck right down the mouth of a bass amp.

Just not the place to be.

There's a story behind it but I'm pretty tired. Tomorrow, perhaps.

Well it is tommorow for me so start with the story telling...

Had the best snowboarding day of my life yesterday. After two years of not boarding, I was doing surprisingly well. The first half of the day I spent teaching my girlfriend to board, then she went into a training class, and I went to the top of the mountain for some black diamond-action. I landed every jump I attempted, and while I didn't catch serious air, I was easily 2 or 3 feet off the ground everytime, and that's good for me.

I think I'll spend the money and go again in a few weeks.

It's time for me to get a new job. Or a new placement at the very least. I've been noticing that the longer I'm at the place I'm working now, the more angry and depressed I get each time I'm there.

It's a very easy job with very little to do, but it's just spirit crushing.

That's exactly how my job is. It was awesome when it started, but 18 months down the line I'm absolutely sick of it. It's just money though isn't it. No point getting wound up about it if you can avoid it though. It's just something you don't want to do so you can do the stuff you do want to do in your spare time. Just like school was ;p

You're on some decent pay dude, and like you say - it's easy work. Think about it hard, and if you really want to quit, make sure you have another lined up before you do!
