The only thing i've heard that they said they were never gonna do was make a video, which is a pretty stupid thing to say
|
I never knew that. What does metallica want to play then? because they only changed their style because bob **** made suggestions on how to get more money. Metallica have clearly stated they'd stay true and never sell out.
Metallica wanted/wants to play Metallica... thats it, thats their genre of music and the answer you will get off Hetfield and co. I dont think they ever did state that, nor do they believe themselves to ever have sold out... Edit: Thanks DH :thumb: |
The only thing i've heard that they said they were never gonna do was make a video, which is a pretty stupid thing to say
At the time it wasn't stupid at all, all the pop acts were doing it and metalheads didn't want to be a part of anything pop. It doesn't matter so much now though because even a misanthropic band like darkthrone have talked about making a video. (either fenriz or nocturno culto said this during an interview) That if they were to make one it'd be minimal and grim. |
you have a good point there on the video thing, but as for the Bob Rock thing...well for me its like he says: "anyone whos a proper Metallica fan would know i would not be able to force anything on those guys"(something along those lines anyway) The most Rock probably did was suggest ideas, which is what producers do, they get the full potential out of the band. And produce of course
Fernandes: No problem |
Oh yeah metallica collaborated with some rapper. enough said
|
your point being? Aerosmith did too, so did Anthrax. Well, bands that rapped
|
and this rapper would be?
|
i think his name is Swiss Beats, or something along those lines. I think if Metallica really wanted the $$ they would have collaborated with some one incredibly well known

Well then thats just your taste isnt it, i dont particularly enjoy nu-metal at all either. But its what Metallica wanted to do, they obviously have an interest in it and thats their taste |

METALLICA 4 ever! :thumb:
Woah...easy there. Metallica did a collaboration with Jay-Z (yes, like Linkin Park). But so what, whats wrong with rap and metal. 4 words, Rage Against The Machine... And if you called them commercial sellouts, Timmy. C would kick your head in. |
The bass solo I saw Rob trujilo play in Dublin in June last year was incredible, it sounded like an earth quake going through the big outdoor venue, all slapped and tapped ending in a little bit of the bass solo from orion. Pure Class!!
