Yes, Watch in awe of my amazing super cool skills.

TerryThorne 10-15-2004 10:08 PM

I think the reason these bands are more popular now than they ever have been is due to the fact that there isn't too many bands worth listening to.
I think the reason these bands are more popular now than they ever have been is due to the fact that there isn't too many bands worth listening to.
Completly random, but that's okay!

Wait, according to that logic....that means there aren't too many bands worth listening to....you didn't distinguish when.

Before noobs learn English, they should learn how to think.

StreetlightRock 10-15-2004 11:33 PM

Seafroggys, He's statement was compleatley valid, hes giving hes opinion on why he thinks more and more people are turning back to old music. Don't flame him becasue of it.

I'm ****ing putting them in with Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and The Who in the second round.
0.o!! Ill kill you. Imagine a Deep Purple, Zeppelin, Floyd, The Beatles, The Who, The Doors, Rush, Black Sabbath, Gn'R, Hendrix Final...

DVG.

Paranoidd 10-16-2004 12:46 AM
I agree. Although I do think musically it was a very very good period.

There are bands from that time period I don't like, the first to pop into my mind is always the carpenters.
Man, The Carpenters are my favorite group to use in an insult. Most of these kids have never heard any of their craptastic music. Whenever somebody says something dumb like "OMG MeTalliCA 0wns OMG LOZZZzzzZz name 1 betta band den Metallica!11!1!!!!!1!! \m/"

I say: "The Carpenters."

The reactions are great.

LiZZySkYnRd7^ 10-16-2004 01:07 AM

Once again I'm 418 pages late. I am just refreshed to hear these bands (the foundations from which all others were built) are being recognised for what they are among todays youth. I was beginning to get extremely concerned based on what I could gather from the evilness that is MTV. I say exposure is 9/10's of the law where that is concerned, maybe more kids would see the light, if it was ever shown to them in the first place.

jpj 10-16-2004 09:21 AM

I like you, stick around.
Umm, sooooo is R.E.M Yes now or something?

(that's a great album by the way)
I never even saw the YES. :amaze: It was late anyway.

jpj 10-16-2004 09:26 AM

That's not funny because The Carpenters really are better than Metallica. :p

Woodstock 10-16-2004 10:20 AM

How about them Doobie Brothers?

slowhand 10-16-2004 10:22 AM

I've been gone now for a while, has anything interesting happened while I was away?

And I finally have The Rolling Stones Rock And Roll Circus... I've only seen The Dirty Mac performing 'Yer Blues' (it's good, better than the albums), the Yoko Ono bit (it's a jam session with the Dirty Mac, but Yoko insists on wailing) and the Rolling Stones' performances, which are good.

I havn't seen The Who's performance, which is said to be the best in the show, but so far so good.

RockAndRoll 10-16-2004 10:24 AM

It shows them perform on the kids are alright DVD.

Woodstock 10-16-2004 10:24 AM

We can all agree on one thing, Yoko Ono has the worst singing voice ever.

slowhand 10-16-2004 10:32 AM

Singing voice? I thought she was dying.

Woodstock 10-16-2004 10:34 AM
Singing voice? I thought she was dying.
You mean, there is a difference. :amaze:

RockAndRoll 10-16-2004 10:36 AM

yoko ono is weird.

slowhand 10-16-2004 10:44 AM

I think that's why John liked her...

I always thought she looks like a monkey.

thickasabrick 10-16-2004 11:08 AM

RockAndRoll 10-16-2004 12:01 PM

a_minor_threat 10-16-2004 12:05 PM
Get R.E.M. - Automatic for the People, it's not classic rock but it's still really good.
I have the CD, and it's very enjoyable.

I'm also thinking about getting the Out Of Time CD.

I don't know if she looks better now than ever, I saw a picture of her in 68 where she looked ok, but then I saw she didn't shave her legs... then I was scared.

And yes, Jimmy Page is asian now, you wouldn't expect Mr. Wang to be part of one of history's greatest rock band, now would you?
