New avatar Freebird???????

I
Yeah I don't like it I had to shrink it too much :(

RockAndRoll 11-20-2004 10:19 PM

Ya what was all this talk of cocerts? And you guys talked about not paying 80 bucks and such?

My Clapton tickets were 110$(wicked seats though), my tull tickets were 60$, Sarstock was like 28$, and the 3 day festival this summer was like 60$.

(all those are in candian dollars, which I think is at about 82 cents U.S [our dollar's doing well :)] )

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 11-20-2004 10:20 PM

Still cool avatar^

What is Sarstock? (Meaning who played)

And I thought $2 canadian = $1 US or something around that.

BludgeonySteve 11-20-2004 10:28 PM

Sarstock was a huge woodstock-sided consert in order to raise money for the city of Toronto because of the sars crisis.

Lineups included Rush, The Rolling Stones, ac/dc and lots more bands.

$1 Canadian= $1.15 American (roughly)

Lets see, I can't even remember everyone

Tea Party
Sass Jordan
Sam Roberts
The Isley Brothers
Jeff Healey
BTO/The Guess Who
AC/DC
The Stones
(justin timberlake :upset: )

I can't remember all the artists now.

BludgeonySteve 11-20-2004 10:31 PM

Really? Jeff Healey and Bto played too? I wish I had actually watched it.

Back then I didn't really like music.

FreebirdTPM 11-20-2004 10:40 PM

Kind of a random line-up, but nevertheless a good line-up. :)

Sounds like a pretty good show, minus Justin Timberlake :smash:

RockAndRoll 11-20-2004 11:36 PM

Rock I'm surprised you weren't really into music back then.

It wasn't a random line-up, the headliners were classic rock bands, and there were some new rock bands in there, the only random thing was justin.

I was at Niagra Falls(Canadian side) when that was happening. All the paper said was that Angus Young pulled his pants down and showed his Canadian flag boxers.

It was great. You should've seen the crowd afterwards. 400,000, this mass exodus from the park. That's more people than live here in london.

hahah he did it was great. He did a little strip during one of the songs and that's how it ended.

BludgeonySteve 11-20-2004 11:45 PM

I think we all knew who was the best act there....

Jeff Healey :thumb:

:smash:<---Healey
:upset:<---all other bands

Ahh, kidding. Ac/dc, Rush and The stones probably zwneded him.

Ha, now that avatar looks great.

RockAndRoll 11-20-2004 11:53 PM

best act was either BTO or AC/DC.

BludgeonySteve 11-20-2004 11:53 PM

Yes. good job changing back.

I got to play one of the banjos at the guitar store near where I live. I played Led Zeppelin's Gallows poll

I looked like a posery dork :(
You must be well known around the school for spreading one of the most famous songs ever around.
Just to let you know, nobody had ever heard of Freebird when I started High School this September, except my middle school friends and I. It's almost sad when you think about it....poor unknowing people

BludgeonySteve 11-20-2004 11:55 PM

This is actually true. Not very many people in high school are big Lynyrd Skynrd fans. Or Classic rock fans at all.

Woodstock 11-20-2004 11:57 PM

We just had a High School play last night and a band played Free Bird.

Figures+

magicbus 11-20-2004 11:58 PM

Except for the posers in my school. But I don't feel like getting back into that. Good group pwn earlier.

lunch998 11-20-2004 11:59 PM

Tommy or Janis Joplin?

Woodstock 11-20-2004 11:59 PM
Tommy or Janis Joplin?
Kinda hard to answer. Album vs. Artist

punk_noodle113 11-21-2004 12:01 AM

In my opinion,Freebird is the greatest song ever written(just my opinion) and I felt it was necessary that Skynyrd, through all their tragedy, should live again!

Oh, well just stick with Tommy. Janis would cause a little confusion,....

magicbus 11-21-2004 12:07 AM

Yea Tommy works good. I always associate it with you.

lunch998 11-21-2004 12:08 AM

Yea, and now it's bigger and better than ever. And by better, I mean the same as it always was.

There is a cool pattern with our post counts on this page. Either that or I'm on acid.

Edit: There was until woodstock posted again.

jpj 11-21-2004 09:40 AM

Lunch, I feel that I deserve rep, for I am the one who told you to go back to Tommy.

BludgeonySteve 11-21-2004 10:28 AM

Lots of money got me...

Phish- Julius
Pink Floyd- Meddle
Alice Cooper- Welcome To My Nightmare
Guns N Roses- The Spaghetti Incident

And some crap that isn't really classic rock.

Discussz0orz.

wanton 11-21-2004 11:00 AM

Someone recommend me some good folk Jethro Tull.

Maybe something of Heavy Horses.

A good moment from Sarstock was when Angus Young went out with the Stones but he had a Gibson hollow body(maybe a ES 335) I cant remember?? Anyways he went out and played with Miss You. Also Keith Richards like snapped because someone threw something at Timberlake while he was with the Stones.

Badmoon 11-21-2004 11:19 AM
Phish- Julius
Do you mean Hoist? Cause "Julius" is a song off there.

magicbus 11-21-2004 11:29 AM

I've repped everyone on this page :thumb:

Good cds rock, I might pick some up today too. I was playing along with Echoes yesterday, Meddle is sweet.

And lunch what pattern are you talking about?

BludgeonySteve 11-21-2004 11:32 AM
Do you mean Hoist? Cause "Julius" is a song off there.
Indeed  is saw the song on it and bought it I guess.

Nobody gets to dis-respect the stones. Even if it is justin that they're throwing stuff at. Justin attracted lots of people to the concert and helped with it. His music may have sucked but that's no reason for idiots to throw stuff. It's their city that he was helping.

*sigh*

Broken Arrow 11-21-2004 11:38 AM

I am listening to Phish on nugs:D

They have some cool covers-Ramble on Good Times Bad Times, La Grange and Highway to Hell. I also like their original stuff.

They also did Fire:eek:

Broken Arrow 11-21-2004 11:48 AM
As if in the Hendrix song? The Chili Peppers have a BRILLIANT cover of that on Mother's Milk.
Yes as in Hendrix. I have heard RHCP version of it but I really like Phish's cover even more so.
