I have no idea what you're talking about. What 'thing'? Is it that cheese song or something? If so, delete it immediately.
Also when Jaska says "Is it OK to go to Rome?", and he just looks at him and repeats..."Rome?"

Haha, way to forget the link on the email. But yeah, Trashed & Lost in Helsinki video is awesome.

Yah that was it.

It's gone from my documents a long time ago, but since I had converted it for you, it's lurking somewhere.

I'm to lazy to look though :p

blue3 02-19-2006 01:30 AM

Haha, good.

Then again, you can recover anything using the command line...

I wonder if I should have a fun night doing so,

ooo laa laa! :p :p

EDIT: or just pull it outta the secondary recycle bin in the C:\

repcak 02-19-2006 08:33 AM

Can you send me the video too? repcak@gmx.at thx

PsychoticFlubber 02-19-2006 01:32 PM
*Ok I agree this is your best out of the 3, I can definately recognise this part.
I think the main thing to work on for this is just the timing, getting that 8th note rhythm nice and steady and make sure you know the notes perfectly, then you can play with agression too. It's nice to throw your head back and play sometihng like you mean it instead of sitting tight to make sure you get it, makes alot of difference, e.g Zakk Wylde, he hits those strings so dam hard and his vibrato....!!!!
But yeah, it's getting there.

*Did anyone get those scanned Needled 24/7 tabs from PsychoticFlubber??

I sent them out but for some reason it said there were errors with the e-mails. Sorry, I havn't been on in a while. If you have another e-mail adress, I can try that, and if not that then if you have an AIM name I can send it through that as well, I am really sorry about the delay.

Sweet Bodom Riffage.... Bodom Beach Terror... the lead riff.

A shameless repost! :thumb:
To be honest, a lot of the riffs in that song are a little easy. Here is a video of me playing the begining to that chorus that you played...

You didn't put spaces in did you?
Cause I wrote kirkhammettlive @ hotmail.com
It's meant to be kirkhammettlive@hotmail.com
but then it comes up in that white link and for some reason, most people avoid that so I did aswell.

Alright, I sent it out. Hopefully it worked.

EDIT: Nevermind, it failed. I shall upload it as a SendSpace link instead of an attachment.

EDIT ONCE MORE: I sent it again as a SendSpace link, so check your mail.

MRDuCran 02-19-2006 03:10 PM

lol thanks man, I got them. :thumb:
Do you happen to have any of the GW videos from his column?
Cause I didn't even know you got a DVD with the mag...

EDIT: lawl, it says Transcribed by Jeff Perrin, the idiot got the lyrics wrong, even though Alexi put them in the HCDR booklet

And we wonder why people say Alexi is gay? Idiots who can't look at a lyric insert. :p

I got Kalmah's The Black Waltz album last night. I can't wait to listen to it today. 66mb dl in like 3 minutes. Yah I was flying...

I might try and find some sweet bodom riffs to learn today. I'm thinking the lead outta Triple Corpse Hammerblow or if I feel adventurous Towards Dead End.
Why are their no accurate tabs for Angel's Don't Kill, by the sound of it... It seems like one of their most simple songs. Maybe I'm wrong but that's how it sounds.

MRDuCran 02-19-2006 03:58 PM

Be prepared for a challenge in you're going to learn TCHB or TDE by the way. I mean sounds people might say it's easy but even Alexi fukks it up bad on the Young Guitar DVD.

I'm Charming 02-19-2006 04:40 PM

I found a 5 star passage to the reaper tab, I havn't played through it yet but I'm about to.

I thought I'd post it.

I listened to it for the last while.

The Black Waltz was amazing and refreshing.

Nice dark tone, great vocals, some very nice leads as well.

I'd have to say it's a 4.5/5 album. I thought it would be good, but it just blew me away.

Yah.

You have a tab for that "move" song.

The second one on Passage To The Reaper.

Text or power tab works.

MRDuCran 02-19-2006 06:09 PM

No, I tabbed the first part myself in GP.

Been practising Universal Mind?

Shadows 02-19-2006 06:45 PM

Yep. I missed it yesterday because I was doing something else and was tired as all ****ing hell when I remembered, but other then that I've been spending a lot of time on it. I can definitely have this down in a month.

You were just trying to keep the topic on guitar weren't you?

MRDuCran 02-19-2006 06:47 PM

Errrrrrrrrrrrrr no?

Just let me give Dylan this, then I'm going to bed.

Shadows 02-19-2006 07:15 PM

Guess whose guitar is kicking insane amounts of metal *** now that it has a brand new set of strings?

I'll give you a hint. It's mine.

That's right, it's mine. \m/

The Cynic 02-19-2006 07:21 PM

Can someone list all the songs they covered?

PsychoticFlubber 02-19-2006 08:19 PM
Can someone list all the songs they covered?
Well, some of these aren't entirely, but they are the songs I have enjoyed the most...

Ozzy Osbourne - Goodbye to Romance (mostly the solo... the first decent solo I nailed perfectly)
Children of Bodom - Sixpounder, and Chokehold (Cocked 'n' Loaded).
Suicidal Tendencies - Cyco Vision (Inspired by Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 hahaha... I just found out who played it a year ago and learned it in a couple minutes).
Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit
Metallica - Fade to Black, One
I was asked to play "Brain Stew" by Greenday as my first song being played with a drummer. Probably the only one (other than Cyco Vision) actually covered with someone else.

PsychoticFlubber 02-19-2006 08:24 PM
That sounds like your rushing a lot when you're playing it.
Yeah... my camera sucks so it doesn't give much time to record... my card for it is only a couple MB. Therefor I try to get as much in as I can.

To MrDuCran: I don't have any of the videos, but I found some on YouTube.com all you have to do is search "Alexi Laiho" and it comes up with some.

To anyone else... has that Alexi vid been leaked yet? The one with the AYDY? licks? I really want it sooo bad... if anyone has it I will deffinately trade you some albums for it if I can.

Apocalyptic Raids 02-19-2006 08:35 PM
Can someone list all the songs they covered?
Slayer - Silent Scream
Sepultura - Mass Hypnosis

there's two I can think of atm

I'm Charming 02-19-2006 08:40 PM

Yah... I'd like that AYDY licks video alot.

I'll send a video or 3 cds to anyone who will send me it!

I just got The Black Waltz from Kalmah, btw. It's mindblowing.

I spent the last several hours jamming.

Starting figureing Towards Dead End by ear and then when it came to the lightning fast sweeps or w/e they are.... I cheated and broke out a tab.

Once I get that up to speed, I'll be styling.

I worked on the PTTR demo 2 tab that Mitch uploaded. I've got the first riff down...

I have to tune my guitar, jamming for hours on end the last 3 days..has done wonders for staying in tune..:p

Uh, Bodom covered Rebel Yell, Bed of Nails, Aces High, Somebody Put Something In My Drink, Hellion, Shot In The Dark.. And I am too lazy to type the rest, so here's the link - http://www.endlesswar.net/SOB/site.php?go=qa&lang=en. It says there.

PsychoticFlubber 02-19-2006 10:16 PM

Yeah... Bodom has done a good job with their covers. A few of them, such as Rebel Yell, I actually like more than the original... Especially Oops I did it Again hahaha. I mostly learn random riffs that I like to hear or sound interesting in some way. Sinergy did a wide range of covers as well though.

Bodom's cover of Silent Scream is far better then Slayer's.

I love their covers of, Bed Of Nails, Oops I did it again, Somebody Put Something In My Drink, with Silent Scream being my fav.

MRDuCran 02-20-2006 05:55 AM

All the official covers are on cobhc.com ffs.

PsychoticFlubber - I've seen the GW videos on youtube but I'd rather have them saved on my pc and stuff.
And also, I've tryed printing off the scan of We're Not Gonna Fall but it just comes out blank. It's nothing to do with the printer cause it prints other things, just not that, do you know why or have a sloution?? Thanks.

kurrpt 02-20-2006 07:21 AM

hows everyone making out with that universal mind intro?

Uh... I can try to switch the format of the picture... not sure why it's not printing... could have to do with the size possibly? I'll try to figure it out and send it to you.

EDIT: I just tried to switch the format, but even after I do that it comes up as the same thing. It's not working... didn't you fill it in as a solo for Guitar Pro at one point? Why don't you print it out through that?

MRDuCran 02-20-2006 02:11 PM

I did copy it in Guitar Pro yeah but I just like the way magazines are presented, which is why I get tempted to buy everything, magazines, cds, DVDs instead of downloading etc. If it won't print at all, I'll leave it because I came up with different results when I transcribed it and I copyed my version up and wrote it down instead. I can play it at 110. :)

Kurrpt, I can play the UM intro JP style perfect at 105 so far. Any quicker and I start to forget the endings and mess up.

OHSHI, Kurrpt has been perm-banned...

Shadows 02-20-2006 02:59 PM

I'm still a little stuck at the speed I first started at. I was going to play it yesterday but I fell asleep. :( No matter, I'm going at it hardcore today.
