D & D

Amazon.

I actually will not be getting Damnation as they "Cannot Source Product"
You should try and find a way to get your money back and then just buy them both at a CD store. They're both pretty easy to find, at least they are at the stores in my town. They never had Orchid or Still Life, so I had to get those online.

No.

Like I've said loads of times in this thread, where I live, D & D are the 2 rarest Opeth albums.

I walked into HMV the other day n tehy had 5 Ghost Reveries and an equal amount of Still Life's.

Another place had one copy each of MAYH, Morningrise and Orchid.

I haven't seen Blackwater Park in a while come to think of it.

In fact the only time I've seen that is when I bought it possibly.

Thor 04-27-2006 12:10 PM

That's really odd. You could always try eBay or CDNOW. They usually work, and I really don't understand why amazon has screwed you over. I order from them all the time and my stuff always comes quickly. Tough luck, man.

Stoo 04-27-2006 12:13 PM

Yup. They are still saying I'll recieve Deliverance.

I may try eBay, I dunno why, but I never thoguht to check there.

(For the record I usually order my CD's from Play.com, and it's like the best site to get CD's. But it's the same problem as in store...Out of Stock!!)

I ordered Slayer - Seasons In The Abyss/South Of Heaven and Death - Symbolic from that site and I won't get them until all 3 are back in stock. God knows when that will be eh?

They did post 10,000 Days today though.

ObviousEnigma 04-27-2006 12:40 PM

Opeth..

Well, i know its all been said before, and we all know that they are possibly the most amazing band ever.. or one of a select few, but i just want to make my first post and dedicate it to the one and only "Opeth" They are the essence of what it means to make music.. and may they make much more so that those true music lovers in the world will not die of deprevation. :chug:

Thor 04-27-2006 12:49 PM

Don't worry about saying it again, it's always good to hear the same praise from a new person.

Welcome to the forums.

ObviousEnigma 04-27-2006 01:03 PM

:o)

Well yea, good point.. of the great, to much can never be said. And thanks, i feel welcome already.

Thor 04-27-2006 01:24 PM

You should feel welcome, just stick to the rules and you'll be another great addition to the R&M crew. :thumb:

God, since when was "Epilogue" so good? I listened to it again and finally realized its greatness.

Stoo 04-27-2006 01:36 PM

Did you listen to Flynns version?

On Amazon I usually buy from third party sellers. They almost always ship really quickly (unless it's just some person selling a used CD) and the prices are better than from Amazon itself.

Shattered_Future 04-27-2006 03:02 PM

I tried that once and they shipped my DVD about 3 weeks after I got my CD...

I ordered the CD directly from amazon, the DVD from a third party.

Crysiss 04-27-2006 04:18 PM

I never order online. Never have. Im not saying that its bad, its just that I've never had the chance. :upset:

Well it's obvious that you have internet access, so why havent you?

NP - Opeth - When

ATC 04-27-2006 04:40 PM

I feel awful not having made it to the Opeth shows with the Ballet Deviare. Not that they were anywhere near here, but I should have gone nonetheless. They really would suit the music. I found a video of them with Swallow the sun, who're a great band in their own right.

I dont know. I know that I could use PayPal. I guess I should start looking into it.

It's a worthwhile thing. It's all the joy of buying things, just minus the driving part. :thumb:

I listened to Deliverance all the way through again today, and it just gets better every time I hear it. There are some parts on there that are just so chock full of emotion that it's often unreal. The riffing right before the two epic solos in "A Fair Judgement" actually brought a tear to my eye, no joke.

Crysiss 04-27-2006 04:55 PM

I love that part. The first time I heard it was in the documentary. I fell in love with that part at first listen.

Thor 04-27-2006 04:56 PM
I love that part. The first time I heard it was in the d0cumentary. I fell in love with that part at first listen.
It truly is an amazing part, one of Opeth's finest moments. It's even better when they play it live just because you can feel the energy that the band and the crowd are generating as the band plays their final song of that night.

Oh Opeth, how do you do it?

CaptainWaits 04-27-2006 04:59 PM

Alright, I have a question not relating to Opeth, but related to this thread...

Last time I looked at the number of replies, it was somewhere's around 5,000, and it wasn't too long ago I remember it. How did this thread skyrocket up to nearly 14,000 posts

Thor 04-27-2006 05:01 PM

People just love talking about Opeth, I guess. You must have been gone for quite sometime if that's what the reply count was when you last saw it.

NP - Opeth - The Leper Affinity (I just got to 2:10, the best part)

I think the fact that Opeth just recently toured might have played a part in it.

Thor 04-27-2006 05:09 PM
I think the fact that Opeth just recently toured might have played a part in it.
That's probably a good reason, and there are always new fans coming in, and the talk of old albums is always constant as well.

Because theres like 3-4 new people that just post like mad. :p

Shattered_Future 04-27-2006 05:16 PM

I haven't been listening to much Opeth lately...

Other stuff with Mike in it though. Mostly The Human Equation by Ayreon...

Darkness 04-27-2006 05:19 PM

Yeah I haven't been listening much either, just a song or two here and there.

Jude 04-27-2006 06:23 PM
Yeah I haven't been listening much either, just a song or two here and there.
Same here. It's because it's spring. It's Porcupine Tree season. In September I'll probably start going heavy on the Peth again.

Elmo McCheese 04-27-2006 06:29 PM

Yeah I listen to lighter stuff in the summer, heavier stuff in the winter. My friend makes fun of me for listening to Sublime too much these days.

I listen to a quite a bit of sublime. I don't really change what I listen to by the season but by my mood.

Jude 04-27-2006 06:48 PM
I listen to a quite a bit of sublime. I don't really change what I listen to by the season but by my mood.
I do too, I guess the season just affects my mood and thus my music selection.

Thor 04-27-2006 06:52 PM

Does anyone else in here love "A Fair Judgement" like I do? It's the only song that has actually made me cry.

Concubine 04-27-2006 06:58 PM

Guys, i only have Morningrise, Still Life and Ghost Reveries. Which other Opeth's album should i get next??

Thor 04-27-2006 07:00 PM

*cough Blackwater Park cough*

Killtacular 04-27-2006 07:03 PM

Correct. Also, Deliverance.

gmoneyguy 04-27-2006 07:05 PM

And Damnation.... hell man finish it off with Orchid.

Thor 04-27-2006 07:06 PM

You might as well just get all of them, they each have their own special qualities that add to to the Opeth legacy.

Nostalgia 04-27-2006 10:25 PM

Yeah, Orchid's my favorite album. The twilight is my robe is one of the best songs I've heard, such emotion.

I actually haven't listened to too much of My arms, your hearse. Pretty good album, right?

Slapping Penguin 04-28-2006 12:31 AM
Perhaps I'm just a little dissappointed with the setlist (could have been slightly better, imo), or that I ended up stuck with a chick who wasn't enjoying herself for the majority of it. Maybe I just have my knickers in a twist because I've had 4 hours sleep in the last two days. Anyway, none of that stuff is even remotely Opeth's wrongdoing. I guess I just didn't enjoy myself as much as I thought I would have.
Yeah, I didn't think the setlist was that amazing, but did like don't get me wrong.

The opening riff to Wreath crushes souls into Damnation.

PS: Blackwater Park the song is soo good.

MAYH is a Great album. Don't associate me with black metal die hard fan but the weak production contributes to the whole sound - dark and dirty.

And yes twilight is my robe is the best song on orchid.

Stoo 04-28-2006 08:46 AM

/Is bidding for Damnation and Deliverance on eBay.

35 Quid. Not bad for both.

:smoke:
