I say puffs, son.

Cause that's how hard northerners (such as myself) say it back in blighty. Not like you bloody nancy boy, fairy ticklers!

Apocalyptic Raids 12-26-2005 12:26 AM

Puffs, eh?

I haven't heard that one before.

Probably cause I'm not a pom. ^_^

Shred Danson 12-26-2005 02:15 AM

You australians make me giggle.

Long live the south!

It's only Jon who's an Aussie.

Pffft, go listen to your Lynyrd Skynyrd, you damn Redneck. Go on! hop it!

Well done on the Exodus thing though. Generally it takes me quite a while to get girls into my music, unless they're very open... minded.

NP: King Diamond - The Storm

metal-militia 12-26-2005 02:22 AM

Merry Christmas everyone! What did you all get?

I got Judas Pirest - Unleashed in the East :thumb:

I'll be away now for a week, so happy new year to you all as well!

Hey, sum'bitch I happen to love Skynyrd! :p

(quick backround check on me: I was born in KY, raised most of my life in CA, and moved back here after being kicked out by my parents. So I'm only have a southerner I guess  I don't care, I love my heritage. And no my family ain't full of rednecks hahaha)

Yeah, she really loves my band (go figure, I play in it haha) and she says she has opened up to metal more. Plus the first time we scrogged, "Toxic Waltz" was on the radio hahahaha ok that was TMI but whatever. I plan on gettin' her more into thrash as the days go by.

DAMMIT

This is a dilemma. I really, really want to see Exodus, but I don't want to pay what will most likely be at least $40 to see Exodus play a handful of songs, not to mention the unbelieveable amount of goth kiddies that infest Australian shows. They were even fagging it up at Nile for fuck sake.

Aw3someman 12-27-2005 07:55 AM

Hmm... not much better here at the states. Gigantour was painful until DT left (All the goths left after them so i finally enjoyed the show) either that or the fact that LaBrie sounds like horseshit every time he sings live.

Apocalyptic Raids 12-27-2005 07:58 AM

The only gig I've been to here which didn't have goth kiddies was Megadeth.

Bodom had them (though this was no suprise), Nile had them (wtf?) and Dungeon (a Power Metal band!!) had them.

Nile and Dungeon???  damn goths

RavenousMetalist87 12-27-2005 11:14 AM

I once dated a goth. She liked Dream Theater. wtf?

Personally I don't see too many goth kiddies here. I used to hang out with the wannabe goths.

They dressed stereotypically. All black, gothic wardrobe, the makeup, and stuff.

I was like...ok. They were still really nice to me.

However, about this issue of the goth kids invading the shows, I don't get it. I think they find some "escape" to get away from...everyone hating them.

Goth kids at a DT, Nile and Dungeon concert? That's just weird...

Nile isn't even close to goth. I guess they all want to hop aboard the "Goth Kiddies Who Want To Be Cool So Listen to 'Metal' and Don't Complain" bandwagon.

Sheesh. People are so strange now.

Uh, Gigantour was painful after DT left. Megadeth blew cock, mosdef. What a boring performance. refl, my friend fell asleep during their set. :amaze:

MAthiAS 12-27-2005 12:21 PM

Dude Megadeth may not have been great but DT sucked hard. Best acts there were Nevermore and Symphony X.

Though I like DT, I'll agree, they basically just stood their most of the time, except when James would randomly walk off stage. Megadeth when I saw them were moving around and they had a small pyro show.

Yeah that's my only thing I have against DT. It's not really a show. They might as well put cardboard cutouts of every one of them and play their greatest hits through a CD player. And yeah LaBrie always disappears when they're going into the usual crazy solo stuff.

Agrees. DT was terrible. Petrucci rocked though. Thank god they were the opening act. And i think Mustaine's hilarious.
Mustaine says: How many of you droogies can play the guitar? (everyone screams) How many can play as good as me? (everybody screams again) YOU LIE!!!
then he played Tornado of Souls. Cracks me up everytime i think about it.:p

 good point.

FatalEnergy 12-27-2005 02:48 PM

Actually, DT was the best a Gigantour live. Megadeth kind of sucked. They fucked up the begining of Tornado of Souls, really badly, and then had to restart the song. Symphony X was pretty good, but I almost fell asleep during Nevermore, they sounded like shit too.

 Explain how they screwed up, please.

Meh, he didn't impress me nearly as much as Romeo and Loomis.

Meh, with huge venues like they had its hit or miss with sound quality, usually miss, it can really screw up a set.

Funny they ****ed up though. Details please.

FatalEnergy 12-27-2005 03:56 PM

Well, they just screwed up the intro, then they all stopped and then looked around at eatch other for a minute and then Dave said something to Shawn and they started over. It was wierd

Oh.

Anyways, I went to the CD store, and overall I'm not very pleased. There were a few bands I wanted to buy CDs of. They didn't have the Mad Butcher CD when I got there, someone had already bought it, but then I saw Destruction's Antichrist and Inventor of Evil and I wasn't sure if they were any good. As well as I saw a Razor's Decibels, but I wasn't sure about it either. I ended up buying Kreator's Endless Pain and Death's Scream Bloody Gore.

So can any of you guys fill me in about the Razor and Destruction CDs?

I'm also looking for Evil Dead's Annihilation of Civilization. But I'm having a hard time finding a site that has it. I'm about to check amazon.

EDIT- Hurray for amazon.

NP: Kreator - Storm of the Beast

MAthiAS 12-27-2005 05:40 PM

Those Destruction albums are great. Decibels is good but not as much so as other Razor releases.

The Antichrist is a Destruction milestone. Get it. Otherwise I will have to beat you with an ugly stick.

Well then I'll have to pick it up, sometime within the next few days. I'm not worried about anyone buying them, there's like 4 of them.

Does anyone know anything about that Evil Dead cd. I've heard one song off it, and it's on amazon for 17 dollars. Is it worth the money?

Aw3someman 12-27-2005 06:32 PM

Lol.
Antichrist is pretty good though buy it if you can.

Apocalyptic Raids 12-27-2005 07:28 PM

The Antichrist is probably the pinnacle of modern thrash. Although Tempo Of The Damned gives it a run for it's money.

Mathias: Touring with a big band like The Haunted is pretty good exposure for Exodus.
