What's the general consensus on the best Emperor album?
I've only heard Anthems..., and that's bloody awesome.

Ok, I was thinking of trying Nightside Eclipse next anyway. I heard a track off it a while ago, production seemed not as good as Anthems, but it may have just been me. But then I guess it doesn't really matter, this IS black metal.

Get Anthems too. Both slay.

And try Ihsahn's the Adversary. Thats a wicked album.

well I already have Anthems (should have said have not heard), was wondering where to go to next. I've been meaning to check out the Ihsahn album, but I've heard mixed reviews of it so I wasn't too sure.

A few tracks on it are like "woah, thats weird" but for the most part its pretty epic.

Get your teeth into In the Nightside Eclipse. Are you into Burzum? He owns.

yeah I've listened to most of Burzum. I think he's an idiot, but Filosofem is brilliant. I'm not too fond of his synth albums though.

Hvis whatever its called is good. I need to get Filosofem.

And yeah, Varg is a total dickhead tbh.

Hvis is the only I haven't listened to yet, but I've heard it's his best. I'll eventually get it :P I've got so much music to listen to, I still haven't finished going through all the CDs I bought when I was in Europe, and I just downloaded a whole bunch of albums that were recommended, and I'm still buying/downloading new stuff. I think I'm addicted :(

I want to get more into Satyricon coz I think Frost rules as a drummer.

Thats another thing about the Scandinavian metal scene I find lulzy. Drummers are so good that they drum for multiple successful acts. Look at Hellhammer.

The Satyricon I've listened to has been awesome (Dark Medieval Times, Nemesis Divina). I listened to a little bit of their newer stuff but it was average-ish.
In regards to drumming, youtube the video for the Satyricon song The Pentagram Burns. The song itself is pretty average, but watch the drummer, he looks so friggin awesome.

Immortal are good. I saw them live at last years Hellfest and they were ridiculously awesome. So were Behemoth.

Yeah, a lot of them are really cool. My absolute favourite is probably Worship's Dooom, for obvious reasons :P Not just the cover, the whole case (it folds open).
