This is probably pointless because probably no one knows, but any new news on the next Tool album? Last I heard, it was to be released this fall.

It's all speculation, but yeah... your guess is as good as anyone's. Next fall SEEMS to be a good guess.

YouGottaBeCrazy 06-26-2005 08:22 PM

Hmm, you guys are right. Sorry, I was way over my head with that.

Your music theory skills > My theory skills.

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-26-2005 10:19 PM

Patient- The JoZ isn't really mxing any more. :-/ Do you think that instead of Ticks and Leeches you could do Eulogy? Or both? I'm trying to incorporate 307 into this, and he wants to do Eulogy. Maybe I shall beckon him to this thread so we can talk.

Kage 06-26-2005 10:21 PM

You should beckon him. This thread needs some reviving.

Huber 06-26-2005 10:23 PM

So we are down a JoZ?

BlindWriting 06-26-2005 10:27 PM
your odd times suck .....go to the drumforum and learn how to count properly cause 25/8 is just playing 5 bars of 5, which would be easier, and if its impossible to count your 25 rythm in 5 explain how you are counting and i will tell you if you are right, and if im just being an asshole.
Not to beat a dead horse, but...

1. Firstly, I meant 26/8. A simple typo. I mentioned 26 later.

2. If I'm playing something like 9/8, I don't break it up into 3, 3, and 3. If I'm playing 15/8, I don't break it up into 5, 5, and 5, etc.

3. You seem like a much more musically knowledgable guy, so I guess I misunderstood something with my own stuff.

Dried Muffin Remnants 06-26-2005 10:30 PM

Could someone please send part 1 of the oklahoma concert? Please?

Huber 06-26-2005 10:31 PM

About number 2...it really helps to split them up, you should try and get used to it.

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-26-2005 10:32 PM

Ok guys, I come to you bearing more good news.

MagicalTroll is going to do Stinkfist bass, and he said perhaps Lateralus.

We're not quite down a JoZ, but he's been absent for quite some time...:-/ I talk to him, and he says he'll have them done, but he always 'get's busy' or something. :p

I'll IM Chris and ask him to join us.

Mr Herb 06-26-2005 10:35 PM

If i had a mic id do the bass :(

3074326 06-26-2005 10:38 PM

Hello

I have been beckoned.

I'll do about anything, as long as it's not Prison Sex and it's not Hooker with a Penis.

Huber 06-26-2005 10:40 PM

Hoorah! An able bassist who posts in this thread!

Kage 06-26-2005 10:40 PM

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-26-2005 10:43 PM

Am an able bassist :( jsut odnt have a ****ing mic.

3074326 06-26-2005 10:44 PM

I'll do guitars for Lateralus.

Should I record with my stereo capabilities or should I keep my track panned to one side?

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-26-2005 10:46 PM

Since you do have a POD and you could get the highest quality out of us all, I think it would be suiting if you did so, Chris. :thumb:

3074326 06-26-2005 10:47 PM

Heck yeah man.

Check my last post for an edit.

Kage 06-26-2005 10:48 PM

My recording quality is great, I just haven't had the time to really get a good recording yet. I've been recording a lot with my own band lately, so all my time is used up with that, and I'm usually burned out of it by the end of our sessions.

Huber 06-26-2005 10:48 PM
Am an able bassist :( jsut odnt have a ****ing mic.
That's kinda what I meant by able.

How much is a POD? and where can I learn about it?

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-26-2005 10:51 PM

Does anyone know Faith's soundclick?

Kage-No hurry man. Just within the next 5 weeks, of course. :p

The most expensive one is the XT Live. It's $399.99 USD. I can teach you about it if you want. :p

I'll have to start working on a Toolish tone. I have loads of metal ones.

NVM, it wasn't what I thought it was.

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-26-2005 11:00 PM

You can get one of those red kidney shaped ones for like 200 though, can't you? Those are still pretty pristine.

Chris- That tone on your solo sounded fairly close to me. :-/ All you really need is some distortion and delay.

Below me- mod spam.

3074326 06-26-2005 11:01 PM

Haha, I'll start dialing in a tone right now.

I'll be back in a while.

Mr.Poupon 06-27-2005 12:03 AM

Hi, I'm new here but not to this thread. A few points. I'm not 16. These covers better be topnotch when they're finally done, and where the hell did Ken go?

magicaltrollII 06-27-2005 12:08 AM
Isn't he a guitarist?
If you're talking about me, then yes, I am a guitarist. But I can play bass just as good, I play it alot in this church band me and my friend play in everyonce in awhile.

I'm gonna try to have the tracks up on... Tuesday-ish.

3074326 06-27-2005 12:11 AM

I started the guitars for Lateralus.

The drumming is very good. It's also on time with the album. :D The guitars are going well so far. For the distorted parts, I have two different tones, one panned to each side.
