Don't worry, the thread won't die, it will just live on in a new incarnation :).

Nah I get myself a tattoo when I'm 18 I think.. My mom and dad would kick me out of the house or something like that if I did both :thumb:

Post the recordings somewhere if you have them =)
Bands are really nice.. my band and I are going to record within the next 4 weeks :smoke:

nisakss 06-08-2005 09:40 AM

Yes, but it's just like an era that ended....i don't know...I'm very sensible today *feels very gay*

gaslight 06-08-2005 09:44 AM

I want ever so much for a band :(.

I'm writing my own stuff on guitar but I don't know if I can find the right musicians for it or not, maybe I'll multitrack it all at home for a sense of accomplishment*.

*fun.

Anyway yeah, it is the end of an era in a way. Kinda like when you finish a can, then you open a new can, it's the cycle of life *wipes tear.*

Fuck I hate going to pubs, I'm covered in stale cigarette smoke . Someone was just breathing it out over me all night, and whats the point? Congratulations, you're a drug addict, go endanger someone else's health, prick.

I like waffles.

Those are not the best. But good. Especially Leafless is a lot of fun to play, though it's simple. Live I do some backing vocals for that one too. *proud*

You'll find the right folks, I'm sure. Sometimes one has to search a bit though. I had luck with the band, but actually I'm about the 4th bass player, and the first they are really happy with.

Yeah, it's all just a matter of patience.

It would be easy to find a band that I could play with, but you know, like, I really want to be in a band that is exactly the kind of music I want to make. I have put some ads up at my music school, but nothing has come of it yet. I guess I'll just write the stuff and when someone comes along, all the better.

It frustrates me though, because I have a really strong urge to be in a productive band as soon as possible, and get out playing serious gigs and all that, and when all that holds you back is something you can't control like, lack of other musicians, it can be a bit frustrating.

But it's all good, I'm 18, I probably shouldn't be stressing so much about it, there is plenty of time, but I would just prefer to be doing it already.

Ah well, patience :smoke:.

How is your band? What style? Name? Related questions?
Alright, so, I listened to this band called the Decemberists today, by recommendation from a friend, and I actually didn't despise them. Now, I don't know what kind of music you'd call it, but it definately reminds me of emo. Please tell me that I did not just listen to an emo band and liked it.

They're not emo and they are amazing. :thumb:

Yeah, it'll work out :)
How is your band? What style? Name? Related questions?
I'd post our homepage, but I doubt you can read/speak german :)

The band is called 'The Stokers'. Basically, we play a mix of Punk, Grunge and generall rock. Some folks told me after our gig that we sound like a 70s rock band sometimes. We're five overall: guitar, guitar/vocals, vocals (female, the only girl in the band), bass/vocals (that's me :)) and drums.

All info I could think right now. Further questions? :)

Yeah, it's really sweet. Those tracks were recorded in a local studio last year. When I got the CD to listen and learn the songs, I was very suprised by the good quality. But it costed also quite a buck. I don't know how much exactly though, as that was before my time with the band
Haha Judas Priest are so funny

how do you mean funny
they were awesome
apart from a certain bass player *cough ianhill cough*
and the scorpions who supported :upset: oh dear oh dear

neal_672 06-08-2005 10:23 AM

Scorpions were better with Michael Schenker on guitar, his own group are way better. But they're not that bad.

But judas Priest they're ok but they're basically everything i dislike about metal they're just silly, all blood and guts lyrics, silly look etc

they had michael schenker back i think
or a lookalikie lol
theyre not silly
and that look is unique, not silly

neal_672 06-08-2005 10:28 AM

Really? I thought he was touring with his own group still. Sure it wasn't Rudi Schenker? 'Cos he's always fronted them.

"Unique" - read "every metal band ever"
