I don't live there anymore, my amp now resides safely in our rehearsal studio.

gaslight 10-16-2010 02:16 AM
I don't think Matamp do compact or small :p But it's 36 inches tall apparently.

And yeah, I'm with you on the small cab thing - I don't want to let go of my Schroeder just incase I need a small cab :/ I wouldn't mind a Tiny Terror or something too for when i don't fancy lugging my GT200 around.
I figure if you can comfortably one-hand carry a cab it'll do for a portable rig, then you've just got like, bass on your back, one arm for the head, one arm for the cab.

I was really bummed when I found out my head doesn't quite fit in the second bass space of my gig bag :(. I would have had a beauty of a thing going on if it did when it came to portability.

Why are the wheels still on the top one?

funkyhoney 10-16-2010 02:28 AM

Shutup, that's why!

Because I don't often use the second cab, and when I do I don't stack them. Back back etc. That top combo weighs a ridiculous amount.

FlamingCouch 10-16-2010 11:32 AM
so yeah, go buy our album.

www.maeslostempire.bigcartel.com or amazon.com and shit.

and i just ordered myself a new matamp 6x10 cab in white with a chrome grille. it's gonna match my matamp head and look totally sweeeet.
1 - can it be streamed? 2 - how long to ship overseas/is there digital copy involved?

I have not checked as the work computer blocks almost everything.

fatbandit 10-16-2010 12:53 PM

The coolest thing about that photo is the mid hump in your graphic eq. good shit.

No streaming, but we have a trailer on our myspace, and you can get the 30 second samples on iTunes. There are probably places stocking it online in America, but I reckon it'd only be $15ish to get me to send it out from England. As for how long the shipping takes from there, I'm not sure. How long do things normally take to travel to a different country?

FlamingCouch 10-16-2010 01:02 PM

Should take about a month to six weeks if you're not filling the jewel case with illicit drugs. Customs is a bitch.

I'll try to get to a computer that isn't blocked to the nines in the next few days and give these samples a listen. always interested in listening to what folks here have made.

BenJammin 10-16-2010 01:06 PM

Sup guys?

FlamingCouch 10-16-2010 01:12 PM

Same ol' same ol', Ben. How's the weather back east? it looks like summer out here, save for the leaves being gone and being rather cold out.

I'm sure I've sent stuff to the states that's arrived within a week before D:

FlamingCouch 10-16-2010 02:40 PM

Wow. When I buy anything from the states it sits in customs forever and ever.

fatbandit 10-16-2010 02:44 PM

Actually, now I remember it, Canadian customs are some of the worst in the world.

FlamingCouch 10-16-2010 03:02 PM

:) I would not be surprised. by the time my fucking Jazz bass got up here I didn't even want to work on it anymore. Truth be told, I still haven't. At odds with whether to keep it stock or whatever.

BenJammin 10-16-2010 04:32 PM

I sent a CD to Japan once, and it got there in a week. So you never know.

That's how I EQ my sh*t too, except with more emphasis on the bass than the treble.

And I still think my bedroom rig pwns Ryan's:

I don't have a bedroom rig. I have a gig rig. That I... gig with.

It's my only rig, but I have only had one gig since the band split. :upset:

gaslight 10-18-2010 01:21 AM

I think he's just playing haha.

If you needed a 410 and 118 to practise in your bedroom, I dunno, maybe if you're one of the girls from My Super Sweet 16th or whatever.

Last night was the first time my guitar ever cut out during a show. I don't even know what happened. I immediately checked all my patches and everything, but it was all plugged in and normal. It randomly came back about 10-15 seconds later. It was very unsettling, thankfully the rest of the band stayed on and I jumped back in when my guitar came back.

Probably an issue with your amp's input jack or a loose connection in your guitar.

Also, check your cables. They could be bad.

FunkMetalBass 10-18-2010 12:57 PM

I'm brewing up a coffee-vanilla bock with my girlfriend. We just added in the vanilla beans last night and will be bottling it this weekend right before the Fuel concert (original lineup ftw). Should be a primo beer by Christmas, and somewhere around 6.5% - a decent ABV.

fatbandit 10-18-2010 02:18 PM

i'm in love with the coffee shop girl

I'll have to check it out when I get some time. I baby my gear, so I generally don't expect to run into problems like that.

When you think about it, your entire signal is traveling through tiny wires that are quite fragile, and the solder joints are no more than a few cubic millimeters of metal that meld a few conductors together. Electronics issues are common even amongst the nicer equipment.
thats freakin sweet.

I hope so. At roughly $25 (for two dozen 12-oz brews), it will be my most expensive brew to date.

fatbandit 10-18-2010 03:03 PM

I treat my gear like shit (well, not quite, but it doesn't get baby'd), and I very rarely get anything break my signal, so I don't think there's too much in that theory.

Duncster 10-18-2010 03:51 PM
I hope so. At roughly $25 (for two dozen 12-oz brews), it will be my most expensive brew to date.
Well thats ridiculously cheap for any beer around here. U-brew is even twice that much. I've never heard of anyone making their ownbeer from scratch though.

Regardless, 48 bottles of a 5% beer here would be $50 at the cheapest, almost $100 for premium. I'm considering moving to another province or country for this very reason!

FunkMetalBass 10-18-2010 03:54 PM

It would cost about that much anywhere - premium brew isn't cheap. Brewing your own comes out to $0.75 - $1.50 a bottle, which is still cheaper than what you'll find in a bar. You just have to wait a month or four for it.

Spaceman Spiff 10-18-2010 04:04 PM

My friends and I tried our hand at brewing some beer before, but we got too impatient and drank it before it was ready. It still got us a drunk, but it did not taste very good.

From what I've brewed so far, I could probably drink my brews flat (ie, after a week or two of ferment).

You might prefer to try your hand at wine-making.

For about $10, you can buy brewing yeast, a few cups of sugar, and 3 gallons of grape juice to make a few gallons of tasty wine.

fatbandit 10-18-2010 04:23 PM

I just went for an hour long run up and down some hills. I haven't done any running for about 7 months, so I'm totally gonna feel it in the morning :(

BenJammin 10-18-2010 05:18 PM

My roommate works for a brewery, so we brew very quality beer here quite regularly. We've got a bitter that just reached maturity, an irish red that's another 2 weeks away, and an apple beer that's a first-time beer that is probably another month and a half out.

Everything is made from scratch, because if you're going to make beer, why bother doing it any other way?
