So Glassjaw were kinda disappointing. They played 3 songs from EYEWTKAS, out of a 90 minute set. They did what they did well, but that's what I really went to see them play :(

gaslight 01-25-2010 07:02 AM

Sorry to hear that buddy I know you're a big fan :(.

fatbandit 01-25-2010 07:23 AM

I'll cope :) They played a good handful of new songs and looked like they enjoyed having something fresh to play. They've only put out two albums and a couple of EPs since like ten years ago, so I can understand them not playing much from the first album if they're bored of it. So if the new songs stack up, I'm pretty much really looking forward to the mythical third album ;p

gaslight 01-25-2010 07:29 AM

It's good to see you bouncing back fast

fatbandit 01-25-2010 07:34 AM

feed me.

BenJammin 01-25-2010 07:40 AM

A buddy of mine saw them open for Brand New, and said they were absolutely atrocious. Just way too loud and sloppy and impossible to hear clearly (I guess that's as much the fault of the sound guy as anyone).

gaslight 01-25-2010 07:45 AM

I ain't feeding anyone.

fatbandit 01-25-2010 07:47 AM

The sound wasn't great all night. Bit mushy. But I could hear everything pretty much as well as can be expected for a gig like that. I didn't think they were sloppy or anything though. Daryl was really hit and miss with his singing. Some of it was sublime, and some of it sounded like he just couldn't be bothered to remember his words.
Joe, check your paypals.

Yeah, being signed is kinda weird for us. Very little has changed as we haven't recorded our album for the label or anything yet, but people and promoters etc assume we are bigger than we are, which can work for us and against us too :/
Got it. :)

I can send you a copy of the money order receipt if you'd like it for your records. The payment should be to him sometime this week.
Oh man. For a birthday present, my friend/drummer in my band built me a pedal board. It's so badass.

And he stained it the same color as his drums from when he did those. We can be all cool and matching. :p
Sweet. Lemme see.

Spaceman Spiff 01-25-2010 11:47 AM

I'll try to get some pictures. I also need a sweet group shot of all my stuff looking pretty:
Tele
Jazzmaster
Ibanez ORM
Ibanez SR506
Pedal board w/ pedals
Line 6 PodXT Live

I don't keep my main amp at home, just a couple practice amps.

rh15951 01-25-2010 04:13 PM

SPIFF WHERE ARE THE CAPITAL h CDS?!

rh15951 01-25-2010 04:13 PM

Also, I hate Widnes.

Tryxx 01-26-2010 05:56 PM

Trying to listen to some of the tracks that have been posted, but I'm having issues. Tried IE, Firefox, and Opera. Any suggestions?

If none of those work, it's a problem with your computer, or you don't have to latest plugins & versions.

Probably don't. Just got Windows 7 64-bit, and some plugins aren't available. (Like flash for example.) Ah, well. Thanks.

oh **** well lack of flash is probably your issue

yeah windows 7 is kinda gay so far just cuz nothing is compatible with it yet. My dad just got a ****ing amazing computer with windows 7 purely for recording and it's not compatible with the software he got so now he's thinking of selling it for a mac

and i'm like

ugh **** mac

just put xp on it

Aside from this issue, I've been pretty happy, but I'll be the first to admit it's a big one. :p I'm hoping when the first service pack comes out soon things will start changing pretty quickly, since businesses will probably start adopting it.

That's the thing though half the time these business just upgrade because it comes out and they want to be on the "top" of the "technological" list so they can "tempt" customers with that or something along those lines idk...

I have Windows 7 (32-bit, because not enough companies have made the switch to 64-bit yet) and Adobe Audition 3 works just fine for me. Not sure what program he is wanting to use, though.

I f**king hate flash. Worst.Invention.Ever.

Convectuoso 01-27-2010 01:03 PM

The funny thing is that even Vista was **** when it came to compatiability with most audio software.

In typical Digidesign money grubbing they made it so you could only run pro tools on Vista Ultimate and maybe business, home and basic wouldn't work.

XP for the win.

CIRCA 2 HOURS BEFORE MY FIREPOD ARRIVES *YIPEE*.

Epidemechanical 01-27-2010 01:07 PM

yeah **** digidesign i had to buy an m-audio interface just for protools and even then i cant use PT8 i have to use 7.4

so gay

Convectuoso 01-27-2010 01:18 PM

Lol and that is why I will never use Pro tools at home unless I have the cash to drop on a Pro Tools HD rig. And even then only so I'd be compatible with 80% of the industry.

And that ****'s only Pro tools m-powered right?

Digidesign < all.

Convectuoso 01-27-2010 01:19 PM

Oh and their hardware sucks balls.

Epidemechanical 01-27-2010 01:56 PM

yeah digidesign interfaces SUCK and yes its mpowered v7.4 thats the latest release

Convectuoso 01-27-2010 01:59 PM

Lol way to update LE but not m powered. Bastards.

What presonus interface do you have? Is it that inspire one or whatever? How does it compare to your m-audio one?

Epidemechanical 01-27-2010 02:10 PM

i have a presonus firebox i REALLY like it

i have an m-audio pre usb interface which i actually traded with ben lesser for, it gets the job done fine

Convectuoso 01-27-2010 02:13 PM

Lol yeah I saw you traded for your Brice a while back.

I was gonna get the firestudio mobile until I saw the fp10 second hand the same day for about the same price and jumped on it.

Firebox has class a's right?
