Mr. Pennywhistle's been making spam threads about tubg1rl in Politics as well. I suggest banning, he clearly needs to find something better to do with his time.
Classy.
I strongly considered putting in a bunch of R&M guitarists in there (you, ICB, etc.) but I was too lazy to think of ten users, so I just put me down instead :-D |
I don't know if this is the right kind of question to ask, but here it goes.
When was the last thread(if any) made on Oasis? If not for a while, could I possibly make one? They are a great band and I would like to make a thread for them. If not possible, thats ok and if this is the wrong type of question, I apolgize. |
You can just search the word Oasis, and if there are any decent sized threads, then just post in that. If not, go ahead and make one,

Alright I'm asking for approval on a possible "game" thread.
I've seen this thread on another forum where two bands square off in a battle. But it's not just "pick which band you like more and go again", there's more intelleigence to it. What happens is, the battle is placed into a series, something like a "best out of 5", etc. And what happens is posters pick which band they like more, and supply a short paragraph giving insight on why they picked that band. The battle resumes, untill the series is done, and then the poster who completed the series begins a new one. Like so: Threadstarter: "instructions, etc....Led Zeppelin vs. The Who" Poster 1: "The Who (1-0) - reason....." Poster 2: "Led Zeppelin (1-1) - reason...." Poster 3: "Led Zeppelin (2-1) - reason...." Poster 4: "The Who (2-2) - reason...." Poster 5: "Led Zeppelin (3-2) - reason....Next Battle: Megadeth vs. Metallica" And so on...I'd like to pass this by a mod first, as I'm aware that threads like these are usually against the rules, and are subjected to spam. But if done right, this thread could be useful. |

I'm not quite sure how succesful it'd be, so I'll just be a patient fence sitter.
Also, Jonny, I shall post that FA sometime soon, when I make it to my Uni. (It's saved in my Uni folder for reasons I shan't go into here). |
So no about the Battle of the Bands?? Or still waiting for more mod opinions??
|
You'll have to wait for Jelle's and 3074326's verdicts, I think, since the other two R&M mods are indifferent.

I think that GNR thread should be finally un-stickied. No matter how immature the thread starter's post was, I think we should consider the fact that he might feel a bit offended...
Jason will probably unsticky it when he signs back on. Don't worry, things will be alright. -Jom |

B) It's pretty easy to spam that thread with remarks like "d00d wtf, led zeplin is soooo much better than megadeth!" and "5-3, led zeplin b/c he is the best abnd ever" C) We've tried these kind of organized debates before, they eventually just deterioate into spam. I think it's a good idea, but it's like communism. Good in theory, but will not actual work. 2 cents. I'm not a commie, ftr. |
