I hate in English exams, when it requires a creative response, and I either draw a complete mental blank, or come up with some weird idea that the marker thinks doesn't relate to the question, but it DOES if they would just look closely and maybe have me explain it .
|
I hate English exams purely for the fact that they are based completely on interpretation. Your interpretation of the question, and the marker's interpretation of your answer. For example, in one of my English exams last year, I answered a question and hinted at irony throughout the whole answer, but because I did not use the word irony I lost a ton of marks. Ridiculous.
No I haven't seen SKOM, some of my friends have, they are big Metallica fan, I'm not such a Metallica fan myself though. How is it? They said it was good.
well there are just some great moments in it, like; when lars' 4 year old son tries to play on lars' kit and is better at drums than lars or when lars and james are shouting at each other, lars calls james a f***ing d1ck and the way kirk just puts his head in his hands in disbelief is so funny the sheer amazement of rob turjillo when he gets told he is in the band, how happy he is, thats quite good and i find it heart warming when dave mustaine said he would give anything in the world to have the cahnce to go into rehab when the band suggested again, back in 1982, he described it as the biggest mistake he would ever make in his life and overall the whole impression is what an uphill struggle the st.anger album was, how hard they worked to get it together, a very good thing to watch :thumb: |
also when lars says;
'there right there, add in two floor toms, that sound really gets my d1ck hard' |
Am I the only person who doesn't like Metallica?

Man, nothing in my life has been more pointless than the Year 11 and 12 english work I did. Possibly Art... but English was utterly ridiculous. The HSC did very little for me, and I have a low regard for it and the Board Of Studies in general. All it is, is an exercise in jumping through hoops. Pure crap, all of it. |

yup :thumb: |

I'm not really a big fan of them, I like the guitar solos sometimes though. It goes without saying that the earlier stuff is better. They're a band I have to be in the mood for them to like listening, but yeah, I'm not a big fan, but I don't hate them. |

I don't really like them. :thumb:  :thumb: -Gav |
Hey, how's it going?

^ Not bad...studying for my English and theology finals tomorrow. :upset:
I had my AP US History final today...I owned that. :thumb: -Gav |
History is an awesome subject. No frilly crap like in some other ones, you either know stuff, or you don't.

^ I strongly dislike those disciplines. I'm much more a math/science guy. I love difficult and complex ideas. I love proving theories. I love it when someone asks a question and I can prove it mathematically and scientifically.
Science > all :thumb: -Gav |
Yeah, science and maths are in the same style as what I mean.
Like, dealing with real facts, proving things, as opposed to subjects like religion and English. |
I can't stand math, and I love science, but because I can't stand math, I'm no good at science.
I prefer more to be in a library all day long doing research, writing, reading, etc. joe |
I like waffles.
/Points to whoever knows what show I'm talking about. |

I like math because it's free yet restricted at the same time. You're given next to nothing and from it you can get the answer through some thinking and critical application. You can prove anything with math. :thumb: -Gav |

/Points to whoever knows what show I'm talking about.
I like waffles, too, but, unfortunately, I don't know what show you're talking about. It's probably an Aussie show. :p :thumb: -Gav |

You can prove anything with math. :thumb: -Gav
Rather than saying "NO SHUT UP YOU'RE WRONG" you write a book talking trash on whoever you think is wrong, and throw in your own facts and ideas with a good touch of wit and irony. Therefore turning "NO SHUT UP YOU'RE WRONG" into basicly "HAHAHA, YOU'RE A COMPLETE DUMB **** AND I JUST ACADEMICALLY ****ED YOU UP!" joe |

You can prove anything with math. :thumb: -Gav
Totally, how awesome would it be to be one of those mathematical geniuses who can just like, see the patterns in everything, solve insanely complex problems, and all that fancy stuff. I'm terrible at maths, I had to drop it before my last two years of high school, but fuck do I respect the people who are really good at it. |
is it just me or is alkaline trios bassist pretty good ??? i was listening to stupid kid and i couldnt get enough of his little pull off slide thingy he does ..........im easily ammused :upset:

I find it depressing that I would love to be good at maths and science, but what I'm actually "good" at it, is writing :upset:.
