Anxious 01-06-2008 01:35 AM

I like the Life Aquatic.

AndreTheHyena 01-06-2008 02:05 AM

Anderson's pretty overrated, but The Life Aquatic does rule. I'd like to see the new one.

Robert Crumb 01-06-2008 02:08 AM

(Slow-motion + The Kinks + British Folk) x emotionally stunted man-child = style

YDload 01-06-2008 02:15 AM

the one big thing i dont like about Wes Anderson is how everyone's always smoking in his movies. i dont hate smoking in general, but its so overabundant in his films that it becomes a distraction for me.

also his movies are the images i associate with modern indie/twee rock/folk/junk

Apocalyptic Raids 01-06-2008 02:20 AM

never seen any of his stuff.

okay 01-06-2008 02:24 AM

The Life Aquatic seems to get better with every viewing

Robert Crumb 01-06-2008 02:24 AM

All the smoking is to let you know his characters are sophisticated and/or above the age of 18.

Tyr 01-06-2008 09:30 AM

The Life Aquatic is fantastic, but The Royal Tenenbaums is pretty average, I think.

La Revolucion 01-06-2008 09:33 AM

I only like Rushmore and Darjeeling Limited. Life Aquatic and Bottle Rocket both pretty much suck, and Royal Tenenbaums is meh.

Tyr 01-06-2008 09:34 AM

I want to see Darjeeling Limited.

Thanks 01-06-2008 11:06 AM

The only entire Wes Anderson flick I've seen was Royal Ten, and afterwards I was so pissed because I thought it was horribly pointless and annoying.

Kyle 01-06-2008 11:31 AM

I like The Royal Tenenbaums, but Life Aquatic and Darjeeling are so brilliant. Darjeeling especially is like one of my favorite films.

AlienEater 01-06-2008 11:36 AM

I like Wes Anderson's movies. Haven't Darjeeling yet.

ATM 01-06-2008 12:28 PM

Me neither, I want to see it though.

Tyr 01-06-2008 12:35 PM

Some of my friends saw it last Friday, and they said it was his best to date.

Jacaranda 01-06-2008 01:50 PM

The Life Aquatic was terrible. Wes Anderson should stop making movies.

Montana 01-06-2008 02:24 PM

I liked the ROyal Tenenbaums.

Glitterati 01-06-2008 02:29 PM

I decided today I'm going to do everything ironically.

Jacaranda 01-06-2008 02:31 PM

As if you don't try to do that anyway.

as if

asdf 01-06-2008 02:51 PM

I'm back home at college. It feels good, except that this week is going to be so damn busy and my sleep schedule is so fucked.

How's everyone else on this lazy sunday?

ATM 01-06-2008 02:51 PM

Being lazy :)
Still sick :(

Anxious 01-06-2008 02:53 PM

Sick, school starts in 2 days, car is ****ed up. Work in a few hours.

ATM 01-06-2008 02:58 PM

Yeah, I have no car either so my break has been low key.

I may try and go snowboarding though, and maybe up to my grandparents for a week or so.

asdf 01-06-2008 03:07 PM

My break was pretty low key. Went sledding once. Had a nice zappa party and new years. A few days were spent playing Dr. Mario for hours on a 50 inch plasma TV.

Tyr 01-06-2008 03:09 PM

I'd like a 50 inch TV. All I have now is a 20 inch one that's 15 years old.

ATM 01-06-2008 03:09 PM

Dr. Mario? That game is amazing.

I don't go back to school until the 28th :D

Bought my Super Furry Animals and Cornelius tickets today.

Tyr 01-06-2008 03:11 PM

I don't go back to uni until the 18th of February. Pretty sweet, but I won't have much of a break over the summer.

Anxious 01-06-2008 03:19 PM

I spent years of my childhood playing Dr. Mario on a 4 inch gameboy pocket screen.

My break was pretty crazy.

ATM 01-06-2008 03:20 PM

SubtleDagger 01-06-2008 03:20 PM

Dr. Mario rules hard

Tyr 01-06-2008 03:24 PM

Dr. Mario might be the only Mario game I've never played.

asdf 01-06-2008 03:26 PM

If I hadn't lost my dr. mario game for gameboy recently. I would've brought my gameboy to college just for it.

But now that I'm here it's going to be awhile until I see games/TV again.

Hahaha, I love the cologne ad with Buzzo's hair.

If my break was just a few days longer I would have seen three awesome shows, Deerhoof, Melvins and Six Organs of Admittance .

Robert Crumb 01-06-2008 03:37 PM

I used to have Dr. Mario on the original Nintendo. My Dad loved the **** out of that game for some reason.

Tyr 01-06-2008 03:39 PM

The only video game I've played with my dad was Slalom on the NES.

asdf 01-06-2008 03:39 PM
I spent years of my childhood playing Dr. Mario on a 4 inch gameboy pocket screen.
Oh man so did I, among many other games. Sometimes when I just need to kill 25 minutes I play Kirby's Dreamland all the way through.

The only video games my dad would play was like Mario Golf and this very difficult old gameboy game called Super Hunchback.

God Mario Golf sucked.

Anxious 01-06-2008 03:41 PM

Ah, Kirby's Dreamland. I got that game when I was 6 and it took me a until like 3rd grade to actually beat it. I recently bought it on the Wii's virtual console and beat it again. Talk about nostalgia.

asdf 01-06-2008 03:45 PM

Although it takes me nothing to beat it now, I still have not beaten the up+select+B version of the game. It pisses me of too much and I give up.

okay 01-06-2008 03:46 PM

i lost my pokemon yellow cartrige and that was my best g boy game

Anxious 01-06-2008 03:50 PM
Although it takes me nothing to beat it now, I still have not beaten the up+select+B version of the game. It pisses me of too much and I give up.
I've never heard of that before...I don't believe it.
