123. Cliff 'em All is a good DVD. |
As far as actual ability goes, Rob > Cliff > Jason
Stage prescence: Jason > Cliff > Rob Vocals: Uhh...Jason by far (did Cliff ever do vocals? I've never seen him do them, so I dunno how good he could sing) From what I understand, Jason's plan was to break the band down by him leaving, but after the counsoler came in, he was pissed off because the band was going all fine and dandy. Putting that aside, Newsted is probably my favorite Metal bassist (besides 'Arry and Rob/Cliff) and my favorite Metal vocalist besides Araya and Mustaine |
Cliff>Rob>Jason In Bass
Jason>Rob>Cliff In Vocals (I have never heard Rob doing vocals, but he would beat cliff because I don't think Cliff did vocals) |
Cliff>Rob>Jason In Bass
Jason>Rob>Cliff In Vocals (I have never heard Rob doing vocals, but he would beat cliff because I don't think Cliff did vocals)
Cliff did vocals, I think? Also, Cliff had an amazing stage presence. Sure when Cliff was around it wasn't quite the same presence as Newstead was aiming for, in my opinion, but Cliff could definately get a crowd going, all he had to do was play 2 notes on his bass, and the audience would go off, they (Metallica w/ Cliff) also had different size audience/s to what they had with Newstead. |
I downloaded a song called Hunger, and it says that it's by Megadeth and Metallica. I know that they never made a song together so I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the song. Possibly when Mustaine was still with Metallica but I don't know.
Its not by either, its by a band called Eternal Decision. Good song though |

Good song though
I was wondering that myself... I did seem to think that the vocals could possibly be Jaymez Hetfield though but i was unsure... Thanks man :) :naughty: |

i don't believe that Jason loved Metallica, why would he want to destroy it? |

Jason>Rob>Cliff In Vocals (I have never heard Rob doing vocals, but he would beat cliff because I don't think Cliff did vocals)
Im sure Cliff did vocals cos Jason did backing on songs from lightning/puppets. therefore cliff must've sung. |

Good song though
What about Buried Alive (I think that's what it's called?) I heard that was 'Deth and 'Tallica. But you know, my sources aren't exactly, up to date. |
What the hell is IMO???

K mr musical genius, write an album that can even come close to St. Anger. Sure it's no musical masterpiece, but I'm sure it's a hell of alot better then anything you can produce. It has been said over and over again, to the point where I'm ready to ****en defend the album. We have all acknowledged it, you don't have to keep telling us. Can we get off the subject of St. Anger. |

Are selling out? As in present tense? Try 'sold out'. And before I get mobbed by fanboys, I love Metallica and their music, but they sold out as soon as Bob Rock came along IMO. |

Ah geez not this topic again..

Yea really, do we need to get into this topic? Bands don't "sell out." Bands make decisions for themselves to try and spread out there listeners and attract more listeners (hense the music video). Even James didn't want to make videos, but it helped their 90,000,000+ album sales |

When a band changes their ideals/sounds/etc... to create more money it's called selling out. The majority of bands don't make decisions for themselves, but take susggestions from their record companies. |

I don't know if you guys saw that special on the Black album on much more music a while back but apparently before Bob Rock got involved with the band James didn't even know what a harmony was. |
For not knowing what Harmony is, he used it a surprising amount.

That is probably his very reason for saying they sold out. I like the Black Album, I don't care what there motive behind changing there music was. |
Fade to Black intro solo
Is the Fade to Black intro solo that hard to play.
I have played it, but the part where kirk is speeding it up it is a little hard to play. |

I think I just heard a new Metallica song on the radio on the way back home earlier. The lyrics I remember were like "I hear the freight train comin'" and "...and it comes to be...". Something like that. I know it was Metallica singing it. Has anyone else heard it?
If it's a new song, I'm glad that it has a black album/load like sound to it rather than that god **** St. Anger crap. |

that's no leaf clover. pretty good song.
|
that's no leaf clover. pretty good song.
They play that and -Human live sometimes without the symphony obviously. |
whoa that's what song that is??? what album is that on again?
|
whoa that's what song that is??? what album is that on again?
It's not, it's a live only thing. You can hear it on S&M though. |
It's not, it's a live only thing. You can hear it on S&M though.
yea, i heard it on s&m. i wish it was on an album |
Yeah dude, Its on the Metallica S&M DVD and CD sets. Another song to check out on
that CD set is "The Call Of The Ktulu". That song was just made for a symphony to play along. |

My biggest problem with S&M, the orchestra can sometimes drown out the band. Is anyone else amazed at how awesome the Battery intro sounded?
|
A lot of people rag on St. Anger. While I agree that it was pretty lackluster
compared to Metallica's previous works, there are some cool riffs and ideas that went into it. Example, I tried (for fun) to learn to play the intro to the title track and the intro to Dirty Window, and found them to be really good riffs. I think that maybe James' lyrics kinda drug the whole feel down for the album. I know for a fact that he is a better songwriter than that. |
