Ghostface Killah - Fishscale
My second attempt to thoroughly get into his solo material

YDload 03-16-2006 02:42 AM

I am slowly developing the opinion that Highly Refined Pirates is the superior album from Minus The Bear. Although I still haven't completely remembered which songs fit which goofy titles, I think "Get Me Naked 2: Electric Boogaloo" is a fantastic song, as is "Let's Play Guitar In A Five Guitar Band."

I Was A Kaleidoscope 03-16-2006 06:58 AM

The Unicorns - Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone?

Who will?

bagouras 03-16-2006 07:02 AM

All the albums of Logh (especially "yellow lights mean slow down not spped up".. and "a sunset panorama") a really great indie band from sweden..
Low frequency in stereo, another great band (especially playing live) from Norway.. their new album is coming out soon.. discover it!

Iai 03-16-2006 07:29 AM

I checked out The Modern Lovers.

Wasn't impressed.

ATM 03-16-2006 07:32 AM

2 Many DJ's are fun to listen to.

br3ad_man 03-16-2006 07:46 AM

"Temptation" by New Order is the most amazing song.

sketchyjoe 03-16-2006 09:49 AM
Please tell me this is their best album. I'll just end up trying to get it because of the name anyway.
It's fantastic, but I haven't heard anything bad they've done. It's a live EP and it's available (under a different name) here.

c mc b 03-16-2006 10:26 AM

Just a small slice of why the Trainspotting soundtrack is so great.

Happymeal 03-16-2006 04:09 PM

J Dilla - Donuts

also listening to that Tapes 'n Tapes album, it's not unlike the usual dance/garage rock albums coming out these days but it has some solid tunes.

pixiesfanyo 03-16-2006 04:11 PM

Little Man being Erased 03-16-2006 04:35 PM

Elliott Smith - From a Basement on the Hill

Glitterati 03-16-2006 05:25 PM

I listened to Iron Maiden - The Number Of The Beast like three times today. One of the best heavy metal albums of all time.

ATM 03-16-2006 05:35 PM

Well, I am on my quest to listen to all of my music alphabetically. So far, the best thing that I have listened to is probably 2 Many DJ's. Pretty fun stuff.

Bartender 03-16-2006 05:42 PM

Aside from re-listening to a load of Wildhearts (and discovering the brilliance in yet more b-sides);

The Awesome Machine - Soul of a Thousand Years
The Awesome Machine - Under the Influence

A band sponsored by Samuel Adams. Forgotten how good they were.

ATM 03-16-2006 05:49 PM

Oh yea, I forgot. I also got my first Sterolab album and digged the hell out of it on the way to school.

Little Man being Erased 03-16-2006 05:50 PM

Little Man being Erased 03-16-2006 09:06 PM

pixiesfanyo 03-16-2006 10:01 PM

Dilation - Maybe Death Is A Gift

Hot Cross, You and I, and The Postman Syndrome collaboration. Good stuff, sounds kind of Toolish.

BillCosby 03-16-2006 11:46 PM

That Johnny Hobo is really good, but on his site he links to Mantits, who I'm diggin too.

Little Man being Erased 03-17-2006 03:13 AM

pixiesfanyo 03-17-2006 06:15 AM

Since you like this, get some Red House Painters. Grab either Ocean Beach or Red House Painters I. Both groups are fronted by Mark Kozelek, and personally I prefer RHP - even though Sun Kil Moon is fantastic as well.

JonM 03-17-2006 11:09 AM

I'm digging The Congos again.

Glitterati 03-17-2006 11:33 AM

Today I'm digging

Black Sabbath - Masters Of Reality
Black Sabbath - S/T
Black Sabbath - Paranoid

Bartender 03-17-2006 02:10 PM

Einstürzende Neubauten - Ende Neu

I like it, but the title track (probably my favourite Neubauten song, or at least close) is much better in its live version. I want to see these guys live.

sketchyjoe 03-17-2006 04:19 PM

Dillinger Four - Situationist Comedy
Tight pop-punk.

The Epoxies - The Epoxies
The Epoxies - Stop the Future
Great, catchy synth-pop-punk.

Environmental Youth Crunch - Wet Stuff Dries
Low-fi punk with a folky edge

O Pioneers!!! - Like We Care About the Wolves
More low-fi punk, this time with more of a classic emo tinge.
I'm listening to this now and.....thank you. Oh so very much.

EDIT: I realized that I need more of this, and I can't find any anywhere. Would it be possib le f or the ol' hookup?
You can find more of their stuff on Soulseek. If you go into the room allthehubub (the MX punk room), a load of people have their stuff.
That Johnny Hobo is really good, but on his site he links to Mantits, who I'm diggin too.
They've got a split which I'm ordering as soon as I get some money.
