Has anyone seen Feist live? She's playing at a theater here for $25, and I can't imagine it would be worth that at all.
I've seen her live and she's good, but not worth $25.

iarescientists 09-04-2007 06:40 PM

people around here put out $115 for some Kenny Chesney concert this past weekend, and i thought they were dumb.

Apocalyptic Raids 09-04-2007 06:47 PM
$25 doesn't sound like too much for a concert.
$25 is pretty cheap for a concert here, too. For example, Battles are playing here in a couple of weeks, and tickets are going to be like $40.

Daft Punk is gonna set me back $127 :(

dei 09-04-2007 06:54 PM

Feist isn't worth $25.

Time 09-04-2007 07:04 PM

oshi Bastards of Young by The Replacements was just playing on House.

but the guy from All american rejects was in that scene :/

lol. i've seen that too.

edit: many times.

Thanks 09-04-2007 07:20 PM

The bands that are charging you over $30 are way out of line. I think a concert by your basic big name act should be under $20, quite honestly.

masada 09-04-2007 07:21 PM

it might be the venue's decision though

A Dead Modernist 09-04-2007 07:24 PM

Bjork: $75 (already bought them)
Animal Collective: $15 (about to buy them)
The National: is this worth going to?

Thanks 09-04-2007 07:24 PM

Yeah, I think it is. The Michigan Theater which is where Feist is playing has some obscene prices ($28 to see Dmitri Martin?) fairly often. Music should be accessible to all people, regardless of age, income, or geography.

asdf 09-04-2007 07:28 PM

That's becaues everything in ann arbor has obscene pricing.
people around here put out $115 for some Kenny Chesney concert this past weekend, and i thought they were dumb.
A bunch of idiots in my school went to that.

$115 is too much for anybody.

masada 09-04-2007 07:46 PM

over $30 is way too much

The Jungler 09-04-2007 07:51 PM

Over $30 isn't too bad if the whole bill is really good, I guess.

Mission of Burma and Blonde Redhead are both coming here in the same week and I think I have to choose between them :(

plane 09-04-2007 07:53 PM

While Blonde Redhead are pretty awesome live, I would say Mission of Burma, based on the fact that they won't be around as much as Blonde Redhead. If you like 23 though, it could be a hard choice because they play a lot of songs off of that-- at least they did when I saw them a few weeks ago.

Apocalyptic Raids 09-04-2007 08:54 PM

just got daft punk tickets. yesss.

Yeah go to Mission of Burma.

Next month I'm going to Pelican, The Drones, Nick Cave, La Quiete (x2 hopefully), Justin Timberlake. Nothing next month except KTL if I feel like it.

Upcoming shows I want to go to
They Might Be Giants
Pinback
World/Inferno Friendship Society

The only one that is really plausible is TMBG as it's in my hometown and if I really want to go, friends will help me get there.

Thanks 09-04-2007 10:03 PM

I'm seeing TMBG in Ann Arbor.
