NOT LAME, BECAUSE I AM ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is really, really good. If you like Cat Stevens, you're really going to like it. A lot of this feels like the '60s in a good way. It's a real singer/songwriter album, only it's more interesting than that.

vallely2004 04-10-2005 08:04 AM

Sup everyone? Hows the weekend been? Anything happen on here?
My weekend: Got addicted to the N64 a my mates house and played a gig last night which wasn't too great due to poor turnout and meh!

Right on. I know people will love it if they just listen to it.

Yesterday I took the ACT, then slept for a few hours, then went to Red Lobster with my parents.

Today I will do not very much.

leiferikson 04-10-2005 12:15 PM

My weekend has been fairly great. Saw Interpol and M83 last night, despite Brixton's typically muddy sound it was still a special show. M83 are just sooo good live, it was a nice feeling seeing people who hadnt heard them before gradually get into it more and more. Even if the sound wasnt great for Interpol they have enough amazing songs to ensure you have a good time :)

And today spurs thrashed newcastle 1-0! w00t

You cunts. I was trying to avoid that scoreline before MOTD came on!!!

KappaKid17 04-10-2005 02:42 PM

I found out that Poles aren't too fond of Germans last night at a bar.

Iai 04-10-2005 02:44 PM

I think you found that out about 70 years later than everyone else.

What happened?

In any case, here's the situation I was put in earlier today, which looking back, I find pretty funny.

My best friend rang me up, asking to go out. My best friend is a girl, who recently broke up with her fiancee of 3 1/2 years. I'll let your imagination go wild on that one.

She wanted me to go out because she'd agreed with go out with my ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend, and didn't want to be a '3rd wheel'.

Where were they going? Well, they were going to a pub. Unbeknownest to my ex-girlfriend, my best friend had suggested this pub because one of her other friends was having a birthday party there. We'll call the birthday girl 'K'.

Well, K is the reason me and my ex-girlfriend broke up. I apparently made a comment about her, my ex-girlfriend got jealous, I couldn't be bothered to deal with her clingy moodswings any more, and the relationship fizzled out.

So I would have gone to a party with my ex-girlfriend, the reason me and my ex-girlfriend broke up, my ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend (who she cheated on me with, by the way), and my fuck buddy.

Can anyone out-wierd that? I kinda regret not going, but I have too much work. And dealing with the fallout probably wouldn't have been fun.

As it is, I'm talking to another ex-girlfriend on MSN, explaining to her why things will never work out between us, and all we'll ever have is sex. She's a devout Christian who doesn't believe in sex before marriage.

What a day. And I haven't even left the house!

I don't have Sky Sports. Or any sports channels.

leiferikson 04-10-2005 02:56 PM

You're the personification of the sitcom. You should have gone! Just imagine all the Larry David-esque misunderstandings you'd get into

KappaKid17 04-10-2005 02:56 PM

I wish I could've tagged some sarcasm onto the earlier post; that's what I was trying to convey....Anyways...

Being in Rome right now means being home to Poles away from Poland, so there were a ton of drunk Polish guys at a bar last night. I happened to be wearing an old German military jacket (just a german flag on each sleeve, no Nazi insignia or remnants of it). Polish guy walks up to me, shoves me, calls me a "****ing Nazi" in Polish (translated by his friend). I explained to him I was from America, things settled down, and then began the 50 hour explanation of why Poles don't like Germans. I wasn't paying attention most of the time because A: there was a hot British chick that I'd been talking to still eyeing me across the way, and B: Anyone who knows anything about WWII knows why Germans and Poles don't mix...So yeah, I just sat there, nodded, let him finish, and then told him to go the bathroom because he was sweating more than a grown man should.

I got it - I was being facetious.

I used to like those jackets. Just a shame EVERYONE wears them round here.

That's what I'm thinking now. But like I said, dealing with all the snide comments and stupid jealousy for the next few weeks would have sucked.

Oh, I forgot - both my best friend and my ex-girlfriend are bisexual. So I've a suspicion the reason that they invited her out was to try and initiate a threesome.

My life rules.

Happymeal 04-10-2005 03:01 PM

Meh, at least your life is interesting. I do pretty much the same thing everyday over and over again for the past year. Having no friends to relate to doesn't help much either.

:thumb:

i've seen people w/'em everywhere 'round here too, but 5 euro from a street vendor was definitely worth it despite the trendiness of the jacket.

Sidenote: the university that I transferred from, the same university that never did anything great while I was there for 2 years, is going to have Muse next month. I fucking hate St. Mary's.

leiferikson 04-10-2005 03:05 PM

Military jackets are enjoying a bit of a renaissance at the moment. Whats next? Airwalks?

Iai 04-10-2005 03:08 PM

You've got us. :(

Edit: To Happymeal.

leiferikson 04-10-2005 03:13 PM

If I had any friends who possessed even a tiny fraction of the average coolness that most people have here I'd be soo much happier. But then I wouldnt be cool enough to be their friend :( Its a no-win situation

Happymeal 04-10-2005 03:24 PM

Ah well, things have been looking up recently. I just hope this summer will be better than the last:)

Zappa 04-10-2005 03:44 PM

Things are looking up for me, too.

Hooray for springtime.

the-UK-ska-scene 04-10-2005 04:15 PM

Meh?

Rosie's going to The Fountain for her birthday. She wants us both to come. Should be good times, someone might fall on your foot again.

Think about it ;)
When is her birthday. Me = skint
Start of May. It's not exactly going to break the bank  Just come down, let her buy you a drink cus she'll be minted, then go home. Win/win.

Anyhow, speak to you tomorrow about it, I gotta go get my shit together for another thrilling term of college ;)

I hear Ian went to your gig on Saturday. What a thrilling turn up for the books :amaze:

Laters, potaters.

While I'm in alt&indie, thought I might say how spiffing Rilo Kiley are. :)
Things are looking up for me, too.

Hooray indeed.

I joined an honorary society (has Greek letters but it's more of an honor roll) and they elected me president. I'll have to see how this works out, since I've never been in charge of something like this before. But I was apparently the most qualified, so I must be able to do a good job.

Also, I went back home for the weekend to see my friend at another college perform in a play. Sup lead role and he's only a freshman! Good show.
