For gods sake!

I want to make a suggestion, this is my first post on these forums but i read them quite frequently, i have noticed that everyone is so f*****g serious. anything anyone says is critised straight away.

what happened to freedom of speech people. People are entitled to opinions dont critisise them as though there opinions are wrong!!!!

Not a great first post but I get where you're coming from. This place isn't as fun as it used to be, everyone's so uptight these days.

On a more (ironically) serious note:

This won't go anywhere.

However:

Freedom of speech allows people to be as incendiary in their comments and criticisms as they want to be, so long as they confine themselves to the rules.

Outsetbp 01-03-2006 10:58 AM

fair point, im just saying that people dont have to be so blatant and contrdictory, they could be a little more creative or democratic in there critism.

Some are contructive, some aren't. All I can suggest is that you deal with it. Sorry, but there are always going to be idiots on forums. Nothing you say is going to help.

Welcome to MX by the way.

You must live in a dream world, no one has to respect your opinion, especially on here. Freedom of Speech has nothing to do with people hurting your e-feelings and opinions.

Sleepy 01-03-2006 11:14 AM

Hey all

I was wondering if it would be OK to start a melo death/technical/folk mailing list?

Sph 01-03-2006 11:24 AM

King of Terrors had a melo-death and folk metal mailing list I believe. But he stopped doing them. You're not planning on doing all three genres in the same mailing list, are you?

Yes, actually I was. I was considering doing 1-2 albums per genre (making between 3-6 albums per issue). It would really depend on the stuff I get from the people on the list, but it's a plan nonetheless.

Sph 01-03-2006 11:30 AM

That's not a great idea. Maybe combining the Melo-Death and Technical but keep the Folk Metal one separate. There would be too many people on here who like Melo-Death but not Folk Metal.

Sleepy 01-03-2006 11:31 AM

Hmmm...I guess I'll do a melo/tech death one then. Is that cool by the mods?

Lord Abortion 01-03-2006 03:17 PM

Could we have one cradle of filth thread, please?
not the two we appear to have.
If amalgamation of the two is possible, then that would be nice, if not, just close the new one, the "discussion" one.

Freedom of speech allows them to criticise you as they like. Deal with it.

I don't really know, seems like one big list with not much discussion.

Whatever, I suppose it could turn out fine.

Moses 01-04-2006 03:00 PM

I'd definately like to do the top drummer poll, which is coming up next. How is this decided? If it's any consolation I have thumbs up from Mr. 57 (Med).

Jom 01-04-2006 03:12 PM

Well, shouldn't it be run like every single other Top 100/Best Of contest (i.e. start with a nomination thread, pick the top 100, divide them up into ten groups of ten, make sure the groups are heterogeneous, etc.)?

There is already a pretty big Nile thread.

Yeah, but who decides who does it?

Moses, there was a poll for the last top thing but I pretty much think the one who calls first does it.
