I haven't seen Juno yet so I don't know if I should be offended or not.

Zmev 01-04-2008 03:34 AM

You have a picture of yourself completely covered in mud, are you saying stuff offends you?

perriwinkle 01-04-2008 03:36 AM

juno was alright but i think most people liked it more than i did

all the songs they played were like exactly the same aesthetic

anyways who wants to listen to ten minutes of ishkabeats yea?

ydload at least, i'm sure. but seriously i'm gonna drop a bunch of cd's with this 10:20 consistent-track clip around tysons corner mall, metro stations, and DC with a link to a site my friend is getting me that doesnt exist yet and i will sell cd's that haven't been rendered yet. but if anyone wants to listen to it i will edit with link soon
I am insanely jealous. I'm applying at the coolest record store in town tomorrow, wish me luck.
I did that and didn't get hired (yet). To be fair, everyone that works there is in their mid 20's...my application probably looks pretty bizarre and I doubt if they think its plausible.

I'm seeing Juno soon. I heard theres Melvins and Sonic Youth references...

The one I'm going into doesn't even have applications. You just have to be a regular customer in the right place at the right time. I go in there about once a week, and I always end up impressing the older manager dude who's really into Hüsker Dü and Uncle Tupelo, so I think I may have a chance. Also, another guy who works there is a promoter/sound guy who books my band and always tries to get me to buy Chuck Ragan cd's, so I'm definitely in good with him.
i wonder if i went up to a local radio station and rattled off everything that i know about music if they woudl let me work there
Juno was alright. The music was pretty insufferable, which I think is saying something coming from me. But I laughed and Ellen Page is a cutie.

Anxious 01-04-2008 02:16 PM

Krist Novoselic is the new Flipper bassist...

AndreTheHyena 01-04-2008 02:34 PM

Weird.

Bukowski 01-04-2008 02:35 PM

he's been touring with Flipper for over a year now, I saw him play with them when they supported Melvins.

samariah 01-04-2008 05:08 PM

I haven't posted that picture in years and it's still being talked about. That picture was old when I posted it, too. I was like 12.

br3ad_man 01-04-2008 08:25 PM

I have picture of myself covered in mud, but I will never post it on the internet.

YDload 01-04-2008 08:47 PM

HEY **** HEAD WHY ARE YOU DELETING YOUR RYM?
hm,

Anxious 01-05-2008 01:41 PM

I saw Juno and it was okay. It wasn't funny per se, but I enjoyed watching it. I would totally fuck her though.

Also rym sucks.
did i say something about you living in DC?

I would totally fuck her though.
I felt creepy looking at the ads and thinking "oh she's kind of cute, but she can't be older than sixteen" then I found out she was born in 1987 so

edit - doesn't mean I have a chance but it takes away the creepiness

Zmev 01-05-2008 02:56 PM

You should watch Hard Candy man her character in that is so hot.

Tyr 01-05-2008 03:00 PM

She's just creepy in that film.

ATM 01-05-2008 03:02 PM

I may go see Juno later today.

AndreTheHyena 01-05-2008 05:30 PM

Hard Candy really sucked.

Little Man being Erased 01-05-2008 10:06 PM

I saw The Darjeeling Limited the other day. I loved it.

Time 01-05-2008 10:50 PM
I saw The Darjeeling Limited the other day. I loved it.
Agreed. I loved that part at the funeral when "Strangers" by the Kinks was playing, I can't get enough of that song.

AndreTheHyena 01-05-2008 10:52 PM

Wes Anderson really likes the Kinks, I think.

Little Man being Erased 01-05-2008 10:55 PM

Yeah he seems to have a knack for picking really interesting and fitting music for his films.

AndreTheHyena 01-05-2008 10:56 PM

I didn't like Rushmore at all except for the pool scene, soundtracked by the Kinks.

Bukowski 01-05-2008 11:00 PM

Rushmore was pretty meh I thought. Not awful, but just an average film. Bill Murray is good, but meh.

StaticSynth 01-05-2008 11:32 PM

rushmore has more than a few above average elements

Glitterati 01-05-2008 11:38 PM
I saw The Darjeeling Limited the other day. I loved it.
That film left me with a warm fuzzy feeling inside.

Little Man being Erased 01-05-2008 11:54 PM
That film left me with a warm fuzzy feeling inside.
Yeah I got that feeling too.

btw, I still think Rushmore is Wes Anderson's best film.

Anxious 01-06-2008 01:23 AM

Listen to how indie this page is.

A Dead Modernist 01-06-2008 01:29 AM

He has one of the most acurate and defined style today, both visually and in story telling, which many have tried to emulate, and has quite the knack for putting that across. Other than that he gets his dick sucked way too much. There are a bunch of other great directors out there, do yourself a favor and don't get hung up on Wes Anderson. Oh and The Royal Tenebaums is his only good film.
