You're stupid
Big idiot. Kirk and James played the smoothest solo when the soft part of the song comes up. Just another reason that the song is the best.
I think they are the best guitar duo, by far. They write the greatest duo lines and really amazing things. Their solos together are technically perfect and also really cool

I agree. They are in such harmony with one another its uncanny, The only other guitar duo i feel is like that is Jon Donias and Matt Bachand

I agree. Kirk Hammett is the king of guitar, but when he and James play together, I am just amazed.

Rasta Rocker 02-15-2005 04:42 PM

I think James is underrated as a guitar player

Yeh i mean kirk is the master of solos while james can thrash a guitar to pieces with his riffs

Does James ever do any solos without Kirk?

Nothing Else Matters is one song. He wrote the whole thing.

Woah...we have supreme fanboyism here.

I don't see why a lot of Metallica fans hated that song. Yeah it wasn't their usual thrash sound, but then again, the entire Black Album didn't have that sound.

It's "mainstream" and all mainstream sucks.

Me either. I like the intro, and awesome sustain at the end of the guitar solo.

Its a good song i think. The guitars are still set to stun that wins it for me. They could have cut the synthesizers though.

What synthesizers?

houses_of_holy 02-15-2005 04:59 PM
What synthesizers?
the synthesizers in the chorus

Mister_Che 02-15-2005 05:02 PM
the synthesizers in the chorus
Synthesizing an orchestra? That was Micheal Kamen and the San Francisco Symphony.

houses_of_holy 02-15-2005 05:03 PM
What synthesizers?
Bob Rock plays them on the 'a year and a half part 1' video. I think its part 1

i think james does the solo in the unforgiven.he also has a solo in one, orion, and as mentioned before, nothing else matters.

willis2441 02-15-2005 05:09 PM

how much do you guys think that the live $hit dvd would be?

Mister_Che 02-15-2005 05:15 PM
how much do you guys think that the live $hit dvd would be?
Someone managed to nab it for $27, can you believe that?!
i think james does the solo in the unforgiven.he also has a solo in one, orion, and as mentioned before, nothing else matters.
Unforgiven - Nope, that was Kirk. The rest of the band hated it when they first heard it actually.

One - Wrote the solos, maybe, but Kirk performs them live.

Orion - Yup, he wrote the whole song. The second solo is pure genius.

I was watching the SKOM bonus DVD today, and there's a clip in there about Jason whining about them not telling him they were going to play at the Raider's parking lot. The band, with Bob and Phil, theorized that Jason only left the band to hurt them, not because he actually wanted to leave. One of the roadcrew guys had a tape of a call that Jason made that he whined about the Raiders "gig", and he called the band homos and said that it was bull****.

What do you all think?

JACKROXYOU 02-15-2005 06:51 PM

jason whined alot for a chance of being bass for metallica

Unforgiven was all Kirk. Maybe the softer solo was james, but the main one was Kirk.

One couldn't've been James. Kirk is the major tapper and stuff. I 99% doubt it was all James. He did the solo after the chorus. I really doubt he did the intro solo or the main solo.

Orion was really all James?

JH LU KH RT 02-15-2005 08:13 PM

When they played Part of orion at the show i went to this past september Hammet played Orion with Rob.

They never play the instrumentals. I really like Orion too. I'd really like to hear even most of it, if not all of it. It's not like they're crowd killers. Most Metallica fans love the instrumentals.

my name is metal_milita  because militia was already taken

anyways, it kills me a bit inside when people reply back to that blink182 guy and argue with him. you can tell a lot about a poster form his first post, once a 10yr old, always a 10 yr old.

and no one likes 10 yr olds (exept mothers)

Nate22 02-15-2005 09:21 PM

I downloaded a song called Hunger, and it says that it's by Megadeth and Metallica. I know that they never made a song together so I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the song. Possibly when Mustaine was still with Metallica but I don't know.

Huber 02-15-2005 09:27 PM

I got that song too. I dunno if it is them or not, but I like the song :)

Mind Revolution 02-15-2005 09:41 PM
