poppinfresh 11-13-2005 07:54 PM

rockindrummer 11-13-2005 08:24 PM

^ I think he ment a pedal board for guitar.

I had a good jam today, we got a song finished and made a whole new one aswell. Now we only need lyrics for 3 then we will have 12 song and will probally record.
^ I think he ment a pedal board for guitar.
Yes I was speaking of guitar as well.

boss 11-13-2005 08:55 PM

Yeah guitar
I come from a musical background. My dad used to play drums in highschool but he stopped so because I took it up he's getting back into it again. And my grandmother taught music theory and piano in the Philippines
I love our new bass player.
thats awesome dude, nothing better than having a sweet bass player

Jomofo 11-13-2005 09:42 PM

Very true. We get along incredibly as people; and even better as musicians. It's weird, because I only just met him a month or so ago. So awesome though.

thenewguy515 11-13-2005 09:53 PM

my band(in the process of forming) needs a bass player.....

Win A Rabbit 11-13-2005 09:55 PM

i'm sitting here, eating some cold pizza i took home from work, burning cd's, in my pj's. man i'm cool. i've burned 5 so far, about to burn another, possibly some more. i think i'll call it quits after 6, then read in bed for a while and go to sleep. got a big day of school ahead of me tomorrow. sigh.

oh, i have a question for you guys. since i don't drive, and gas prices are so high, am i entitled to pitch in for gas money if i'm just tagging along for the ride, and if i didn't suggest to drive somewhere or buy anything from where ever it is we go? i'm asking because my friends were telling me how angry they were getting at one of my friends who always gets people to drive her places but never pitches in for gas money. so i was wondering how you'd feel about my situation.
my band(in the process of forming) needs a bass player.....
i think a good bass player is the hardest to find. what kid when they are growing wants to learn bass? its usually guitar or piano, which both make drums easier to learn.

poppinfresh 11-13-2005 09:58 PM
Very true. We get along incredibly as people; and even better as musicians. It's weird, because I only just met him a month or so ago. So awesome though.
thats exactly how it is with me. I found a fantastic player, hes crazy.

Jomofo 11-13-2005 09:58 PM

I have the sizes 8x10, 10x12, 12x14, and 16x14, and i'm wondering if a 16x18 would fit this setup. It seems to make sense, as it is all perfect intervals, but I'm curious if anyone thinks that the fusion sized toms may not go so well with such a large drum. Yes, I have considered the option of an 8x8 tom, and I'm also considering it. I like bigger drums anyway, and I have good setup ideas for it all. Anyway, I'm just curious about the future of my setup, and ways I could expand if i want to.

That's awesome. I don't think there is anything more refreshing than a new bass player. They always help me to continue being creative, and not get stuck in a rut of repeating myself in my beats, fills, etc.

puppet.master2.0 11-13-2005 10:16 PM

That is the same thing with myself. My bass player and I hang out all the time when we arn't jamming or anything. But we've been in this band for a while though, but even at the beggining we hung out a lot too.

dont know if this is old news, but i think you dont need to unless there driving there for you. if your asking them to come pick you up and drive you somewhere, you should definitely be paying for gas, all of it. if your just following the driver, $10 every now and then to help out is always nice.

KWG 11-14-2005 01:31 AM

I drive people around alot, but i usually need to go whereever they are going. Sometimes they offer to pay for gas which is nice but i never ask for it. Only when i would be driving long distances would i ask for some help with gas.

Basically if they ask if you want to come or your tagging along you could offer like 5 bucks sometimes, they might decline. But if your the one speciafically asking for them to drive you places then i myself would like to be compensated for it.

Your friends should be angry, that would piss me off.

On the opposite side of the spectrum - I have a friend who expects pretty much everyone to give him petrol money, whatever the situation. Like the other week, he drove me and him to a gig, and then asked for petrol money on the way back, he didn't even drop me off right by my house, just on the main road so he doesn't have to drive anywhere extra. I don't think thats worthy of money. However, if you have to go out of your way to drop someone off or pick them up then thats fair.

livefastdieyoung 11-14-2005 10:39 AM

Hmm lots of stuff happened here while i was gone.

Where did DBJim and Josiah go? :s

Jezen 11-14-2005 10:41 AM

I think your name would be better if it was LiveFatDieYoung.
