Fear of Music is very underated. Although it's not as good as Talking Heads: '77, Remain in Light or More Songs About Food and Buildings it's still an excellent album.

I don't think it's VERY underrated. "Animals" and especially "Electric Guitar" are the first major missteps in the bands career, in my opinion. When compared to what's before and immediately after, it's easy to look down on it. That's not to say some of it doesn't rank with their best. Look at "Life During Wartime" and "I Zimbra" for that.

Gang of Four - Solid Gold

I've decided that this album is very close to being as good as Entertainment!

Today I've been listening to

Johnny Cash - Live At Folsom Prison
David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust

Two awesome albums.

Now I'm listening to Roy Orbison's Greatest Hits.

Having great taste in music is....great.

Woah, I really need to get their album, badly.

Good shit. I think I'll listen to Ziggy next and some Johnny Cash later.

rbv 03-15-2006 12:15 AM

Johnny Cash's covers are the best, all of them is better than the original.

Little Man being Erased 03-15-2006 01:20 AM

David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust
Weezer - Pinkerton
What, are we talking Big Star - I'm In Love With a Girl or Bob Dylan - Just Like a Woman?
Either, really. My friend was making all of these horny comments today typical of a 15 year old boy, so I've decided to make him a mix cd of songs with the word 'girl' in it. I'm just listening to songs like that at the moment.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 03-15-2006 03:51 AM

Tapes 'n Tapes - The Loon
Belle & Sebastian - If You're Feeling Sinister

br3ad_man 03-15-2006 04:17 AM

Really? It, like the rest of that album, makes me feel like shit.

br3ad_man 03-15-2006 05:37 AM

It depends, if I'm feeling unhappy or wierd at the time, "No Surprises", "Let Down" and "Airbag" all make me feel pretty good. I think "No Surprises" is the ultimate bad day song.

pixiesfanyo 03-15-2006 05:39 AM

No Surprises is just the ultimate song.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 03-15-2006 07:03 AM

Tapes 'n Tapes - The Loon

And I dunno, he just sounds so bored when he sings No Surprises and Let Down, to me anyway.

OrbDragon 03-15-2006 07:49 AM

Belle & Sebastian - The Life Pursuit
Joni Mitchell - Blue
Zero 7 - Simple Things
Pink Floyd - Atom Heart Mother

I'm seeing David Gilmour next Monday

JonM 03-15-2006 10:53 AM

Dude I was gonna see him, but I don't think it's happening. I did get his new album, though, and I was pleasantly surprised. I really like it.

Iai 03-15-2006 11:07 AM

I really like that record too.

Interstate 03-15-2006 01:12 PM

Little Man being Erased 03-15-2006 04:15 PM

Jurassic 5 - Quality Control

This is quite possibly the first hip-hop album I ever heard, and I haven't listened to it for a couple of years for some reason. Very enjoyable stuff.

sketchyjoe 03-15-2006 04:19 PM

Johnny Hobo & the Freight Trains - Anarchy Means I Hate You
Johnny Hobo & the Freight Trains - Caught in the Act of Not Being Awesome
Johnny Hobo & the Freight Trains - Easter Sunday Hangover
Johnny Hobo & the Freight Trains - RAW
Awesome folk-punk full of fantastic lyrics about drunkeness and disillusionment with a real fuck off attitude.

Little Man being Erased 03-15-2006 04:21 PM

They sound positively spiffing. I'll check 'em out. Give me a few song suggestions.

I have been digging The Great Destroyer by Low.

Robert Crumb 03-15-2006 10:03 PM

I stayed in Riverside once, it did seem pretty suck.

Prefuse73 and now Leonard Cohen.
Yeah Now I Got Worry is fairly sweet. It's gathering dust on my shelf somewhere.
It's like right in between their completely chaotic early stuff and their more mainstream new records. I think that album is pretty damn awesome.

Some of the other cities in the surrounding areas are worse.

Perris = worst city ever.
