My favourite member of Cream has to be Clapton (am I predictable or what?). And I don't think that any guitarist could have done what Clapton did. Unlike Hendrix, who was his contemporary, and Page, who is worldy known because of his playing in Zepp, Clapton was more of a perfectionist when it came to live shows. If you listen carefulle, Hendrix and Page were kinda sloppy, while Clapton was a perfectionist, and you can't barely hear a mistake of sloppiness while he's playing.

And you can't ignore the influence Clapton has over other guitarists that came after him

Jack Bruce is very talented. He was one of the first to use the bass as part of the melodic ensamble, instead of just being a backing musical instrument. He's important for being the responsible for most of the band's material, but he didn't have a very good bluesy voice, and I think Clapton is better at singing more traditional blues than Bruce. Still, he has an unique voice, and a unique talent. Bruce was the one who kept it together while the band improviesed on stage.

And Baker, he's one of the best drummers out there. One of the reasons that "Sunshine of Your Love" is so great is because of Baker's drumming.

Whichever way you look at it, Cream wouldn't have been the same without any of the members.

im referring to bands like creed, the darkness, system of a down, staind, disturbed

im not against classic rock but i just see threads like the official iron maiden thread with tons of posts in it, and i just think that the posters must be middle aged people because young people wouldn't listen to them? maybe its just me, but ive never heard any iron maiden music..

i have black sabbath - war pigs and black sabbath - paranoid. i think both of these songs are crap and i guess i just sort of made a generalisation from that about most of those old bands that ive never heard (eg iron maiden)

On the subject of ticket prices, tickets are gonna be waaaaay more than $80 for Cream. When Fleetwood Mac came to Pittsburgh tickets were over $200. So imagin what a Cream reunion would be.

Clapton isn't anywhere close to the world's best guitarist. But if you've heard his unplugged album you'd know that he's one of the best music-writer type guys.

Has anyone heard of Vietnam? They're a very new band, I think they're only just releasing their first EP soon, if they haven't recently.

I saw them last weekend. They were fantastic - had a really 70's vibe to them.

Obviously not classic rock, per se, but if anyone's going to start some crazy movement that brings it back...

a little while back in a european magazine it was talking about a pink floyd reunion...(which i doubt would ever happen because of the disagreements in the band that lead to the break-up) but if there was to be a pink floyd reunion tour..how much would you pay to go see them???

Yea he was the bassist, and a **** good one too. I love the bass line to Freedom.

Yea I just wasn't sure if he was in The Experience or Band of Gypsies, but I think Schyma's avatar confirmed it.

The bassist for Band of Gypsies was Billy Cox, I think Noel quit the band for some reason.

Wow really I knew I herd his name before but....I never knew the other members of the Expirence all I knew were Band of the Gypsys were Buddy Miles and Cox.
