Pixies - Doolittle The Drones - Here Come the Lies (becoming one of my favorite albums ever) And The Texas Chainsaw Orchestra. Sooo aweosme. Instead of instruments they use power tools. oh and I got some Microwaving Hot Pockets Without The Cardboard Sleeve Thingy on vinyl |
The Drones - Here Come the Lies (becoming one of my favorite albums ever)
Is it better than Wait Long by the River...? |
The "on vinyl" joke has to stop right now.
|
it's offensive to people like Zappa who actually have a lot of vinyls.
nah, it's just dumb, i understand. Anyway, I like Hot Water Music. Didn't realize they had such a great bassist. |
Orchid - Gatefold
YDload - Being less funny this week. Vinyls are nice. |
The Beatles.
I've looked everywhere, but I can;t find their myspace. |

Thanks, I'm here all week :-D But seriously Bob Dylan - The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan. Possibly my all-time favorite Dylan album. |

Rain Dogs is such a fabulous. |
For some reason I really feel like listening to songs about girls. Reccomend me some, anyone who feels like it.
|
What do you mean.. about girls.
|
Lake Trout. Amazing stuff.
|
For some reason I really feel like listening to songs about girls. Reccomend me some, anyone who feels like it.
What, are we talking Big Star - I'm In Love With a Girl or Bob Dylan - Just Like a Woman? I'm digging the Block Party soundtrack which is mostly the thumbs down except it has a new Blackstar song. Which isn't really all that impressive either, but neat. |
Today:
Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers - With Thelonious Monk Lee Morgan - Lee-Way Muddy Waters - The Essential (Can't believe I only just properly realised how good this is) |
For some reason I really feel like listening to songs about girls. Reccomend me some, anyone who feels like it.
Beastie Boys - Girls |
The Drones - Wait Long by the River and the Bodies of your Enemies Will Float By
Viktor Vaughn - Vaudeville Villain |
Tom Waits - Closing Time
The Pop Group - Y Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - From Her to Eternity Guided By Voices - Bee Thousand Haven't listened to any of those for a little while, so i've been re-diggin' them today. That's still the only Guided By Voices album i've heard, but it's really great, so i want more. Where do i go from here? |
That's still the only Guided By Voices album i've heard, but it's really great, so i want more. Where do i go from here?
I'd go towards Alien Lanes, Propellor, and the shiny, but great Earthquake Glue. God, really, go anywhere with them. If you want higher production, I think Universal Truths and Cycles is vastly underrated. One of the best groups ever. |
Talking Heads - Remain in Light
Talking Heads - More Songs About Buildings and Food |
Talking Heads - Remain in Light

Possibly the greatest album ever. The trumpet in 'Houses of Motion' is awesome, that's what I'm diggin. |
Not sure about the greatest album ever, but it most certainly is up there.
|
For some reason I really feel like listening to songs about girls. Reccomend me some, anyone who feels like it.
TSOL - Code Blue The best song about girls ever written. Today I've been digging the debut Armalite album. It's pretty cool. |
I'm listening to Remain in Light, too. I can't decide on a favorite Talking Heads album. They are so unbelievable.
|
I desperately need more Talking Heads albums. Specifically, Talking Heads '77.
|
I'm listening to Remain in Light, too. I can't decide on a favorite Talking Heads album. They are so unbelievable.
It'd be nice to be able to say this, to talk the band up to people, but I like Talking Heads '77 too much. After that it gets difficult, though. |
Bear Vs. Shark is/was a pretty good band. Their first album is better than Terrorhawk though, unless I've got the order mixed up.
|
Yeah I like what I've heard from those guys.
|
Franz Ferdinand - You Could Have It So Much Better
Pelican - The Fire In Our Throats The Jam - All Mod Cons Slick Rick - The Great Adventures.... |
The Drones - Wait Long by the River and the Bodies of Your Enemies Will Float By
Hot Snakes - Automatic Midnight |
It'd be nice to be able to say this, to talk the band up to people, but I like Talking Heads '77 too much.

Just that I'd like to be able to tell people that I'm unable to pick a favourite Talking Heads record, because they're all so brilliant, but I'm too honest and would cave and have to tell them that actually '77 is it.
It was nothing really. |
Ah, I got it now.
Talking Heads: '77 is brilliant. So is More Songs About Buildings and Food. So is Remain in Light. The other three in their first six are flawed but great. It's ridiculous. I'm a frothing fanboy. |
