So I am listening to Anacrusis - Suffering Hour right now and I'm liking it a lot more than when I first heard it.

The first time I listened, it didn't seem all that good to me. Now, however, despite the screwy vocals at times, I am liking it. There are some really cool riffs and some good songwriting.

My opinion may change again, but I'm glad I listened to this again. I think it's pretty good.

Apocalyptic Raids 12-06-2005 01:40 AM

I used to have that album on mp3. I think I deleted it :-\

JMetallica 12-06-2005 02:57 AM

It's an awesome album, especially the first two songs. The vocals are insane; love em to bits! They had a good thing going on that album and they could have been a great band if they kept the thrash high and the suck low. Oh well. Yoink! http://apogee.whack.org/~ken/anacrusis%20media/anac_SufferingHourMP3.htm -- Get it straight back dude. It's a unique album that should remain on your play list ;).

Yeah, AP, ill definitely be going along to Dungeon and then perhaps to Bohemoth (HOBBS!) if i can scrounge together $40. If you see a dude with a sepultura back patch, buy that rockin' man a beer (hell probably buy you a couple back in return ;)).

Now playing Mercyful Fate's first 4 albums. Some of the best Metal ever, i rekon.

First 2 for sure. In The Shadows is good aswell, but I'm not that keen on Time. Their early demos (Burning The Cross :thumb:) and first EP are also classic.

However! I do prefer King Diamond to Mercyful Fate, although it is a short line.

JMetallica 12-06-2005 04:10 AM

Oh my bad. I meant Melissa, Dont Break The Oath the two Compilations. Yeah, im not to keen on anything much after In The Shadows either, it just lacks that punch that their earlier albums had. MF tops KD, sorry. Although both top D.R.I. on their own. ;) Their logo is cool though. Do you rekon it looks like a shot-putter?

Wrong AR. it's "and I was born in the cemetary, under the sign of the MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON" :p But you're right on the count that Melisa Pwns All.

Devil EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS!

I place the first two Mercyful Fate albums above anything King Diamond has done... well perhaps a draw on Don't Break The Oath and Conspiracy. I just think King Diamond have come up with more quality albums. No doubting Mercyful Fate made more of an impact on upcoming bands though.

The Gates Of Heaven 12-07-2005 02:35 AM

Any other WITCHMASTER fans in here? They are polish and play black/thrash, really brutal, get Masochistic Devil Worship, especially the song GOATHORN WITCH****!

Apocalyptic Raids 12-07-2005 02:58 AM

Any bad who covers Blasphemer must be worth my time.

Not to mention Inferno on drums.

The Gates Of Heaven 12-07-2005 03:14 AM

That was a cool video.

I also learned something new today, I never knew that LaLonde from Possessed was in Primus and I didn't know that Becerra was paralyzed after being shot.

metal-militia 12-11-2005 12:38 PM

Crytpic Slaughter are good corssover, but you probably know of them allready.

It's wierd, LaLonde was in (arguably) the first death metal band, and then went to a band that wrote the theme music for South Park.

Terrorzone 12-11-2005 01:56 PM

Just saw Amon Amarth and COB. Great show.

FatalEnergy 12-11-2005 10:55 PM

Dang, I didn't see that either. I've been out of it latley

NP: Primus - My Name Is Mud

Is it me or have things been moving slowly around here latley?

Apocalyptic Raids 12-12-2005 03:05 AM

That South Park episode with Dio was a long time ago.

Yeah, this thread hasn't been active lately :(

RavenousMetalist87 12-12-2005 07:29 PM

It's the same offline for me...I have too much ****ing work to do this week and I just can only hope I can hang out with my...well...buds on Saturday.

Hey FatalEnergy.. how's the new Destruction CD? I saw a Mad Butcher shirt at the CD store I go to, but they didn't have the CD. I want to pick it up.

Apocalyptic Raids 12-12-2005 10:14 PM

I was wondering the same thing too, since I've been on a Destruction binge lately.

NAILED TO THE FUCKING CROSS!

ThrashMaster27 12-12-2005 10:18 PM

It's a good album. Not as good as Eternal Devestation, Release From Agony, Cracked Brain or The Antichrist, but holds it's own with the rest of their releases.

It's decent. There's a lot of throw away tracks and some songs seemed really forced. The songs that are on there that ARE good though are dead on. Like Soul Collector

I was at that very show... and a wicked time I did have. Razor crushed, killed, and destroyed everyone that night.
Anvil were fun. Exciter were pretty good. Piledriver were hilarious. Aggression was very disappointing, and sadly, I missed DBC. :( Missed Lying Truth too, but I've never heard them anyways.

Check out this picture from Anvil's set:
