Great band. Human Slaughterhouse rules.

AA-12 07-10-2007 12:02 AM

IW is good.

Poofy 666 07-10-2007 12:05 AM

Yeah. I really want to get my hands on World Extermination when it comes out.

EDIT: They just put new songs up on their myspace

RetiredAt21 07-10-2007 07:55 AM

Insect Warfare is great.

MagicNinjaMatt 07-10-2007 08:18 AM

I like some of the bands in this thread, but I dont really know much about metal genres and whatever so can anyone enlighten me on what grind actually is?

Invicta_Veritas 07-10-2007 11:03 AM

The death metal version of punk.

Songs are typically 2 minutes of incomprehensible screaming. Albums typically consist of 20 or more of said songs.

Any questions?

RetiredAt21 07-10-2007 12:59 PM

Everyone should listen to Unholy Grave.

My favorite grind bands.

RetiredAt21 07-10-2007 01:06 PM

Those are practically the same band.

EDIT: do you listen to any real grind?

i am the robots 07-10-2007 01:58 PM

Robinson... closest thing.

2muchket! 07-10-2007 02:50 PM

How can you not like Napalm Death and Pig Destroyer ?

i am the robots 07-10-2007 03:36 PM

Not too into them.

Napalm Death puts on a great live show.

RetiredAt21 07-10-2007 04:54 PM
Robinson... closest thing.
At least Robinson is actually good.
The death metal version of punk.
wtf?

Invicta_Veritas 07-10-2007 05:00 PM

Makes sense to me.

It was half joking, but actually half serious.

RouteOne 07-10-2007 11:37 PM

One man grind

Not a huge fan of the guitar work, but interesting.

i am the robots 07-11-2007 02:45 AM
At least Robinson is actually good.
Yeah, this isn't my style of music.
The death metal version of punk.
Not too far off surprisingly.

Grindcore evolved separately from death metal but as time went on there was cross pollination between the two genres (see Napalm Death - Harmony Corruption). To find out where real grind came from check out the likes of Discharge, AntiCimex etc.

If you can't hear the punk then it ain't grind.

AA-12 07-11-2007 03:40 AM

Discharge is so god damn good.

Jondur 07-11-2007 03:45 AM

20 odd years on and no-one has made anything as visceral as Hear Nothing, Say Nothing

Dimmu Burger 07-11-2007 06:39 AM
The death metal version of punk.
I never thought of it that way. That makes a lot of sense.

RetiredAt21 07-11-2007 10:01 AM

Discharge isn't that good. There are other D-beat bands I'd rather listen to.

RetiredAt21 07-11-2007 08:06 PM

Kegcharge is pretty sweet.

LifeInABox 07-11-2007 08:27 PM

I am definatly going to pick up Altered States Of America very soon. That album pwns.

RetiredAt21 07-11-2007 08:28 PM

Agoraphobic Nosebleed gets pretty boring after repeat listens.

LifeInABox 07-11-2007 08:36 PM

100 songs in under 23 minutes can't get old, ever. By the way, I was listening to Terrifyer again today, and it is so very good.

RetiredAt21 07-11-2007 08:40 PM

Thumbsucker is my favorite song off of Terrifyer.

LifeInABox 07-11-2007 08:43 PM

That is an amazing song. Towering Flesh is awesome too. Gravedancer was a terrible choice for a single.

RetiredAt21 07-12-2007 09:00 AM

Towering Flesh rules.

LifeInABox 07-12-2007 09:25 AM

So I went looking for Human Jerky while I was at SS on Friday, and every single album tehre was sold out. Karma. Bloody. Karma., Humanure, To Serve Man, Homovore, and Human Jerky were all sold out and I got there 15 minutes after the doors opened.

RetiredAt21 07-12-2007 09:38 AM

I had no idea Cattle Decapitation was that popular...

ATM 07-12-2007 11:09 AM

They were touring with the Locust and I wanted to go but was broke.

combustion07 07-12-2007 12:42 PM

Cattle Decapitation is good stuff.

RouteOne 07-12-2007 12:43 PM

I've had magrudergrind spinning for an hour now, what a day. :smoke:

AA-12 07-12-2007 12:44 PM

I listened to Siege forever this morning

Moon Flavor 07-12-2007 01:05 PM

I'm downloading a shitload of grind today...

I'm getting stuff by all the bands in the first post...what else?

RouteOne 07-12-2007 03:03 PM

I would kill to see that show.
