No worries, you didn't know.

I just felt like changing it, today. I have been listening to Hendrix a lot lately.

Yeah, but you know nothing is more importent the music. I would rather fail out of high school and have a shitty life, then not listen to music ever again. At least with music as bad as things get you always have a place to escape to, that nobody can touch, change, or tell you your wrong or stupid.

Illmatic 04-12-2005 07:39 PM

ATM's changed it like, three times today.

Yeah dude good call. I mean like its not that big a deal cause ive gotten a 3.8 these past 3 quarters i dont know y they r so worried. And im just tryin to get into Ohio State, and even if i pull like a 3.0 i know ill still get in.

And i can understand them being worried, but like i said before its a week into the Grading period, no need to panik.

That's exactly why I am going to art/music school. I didn't care about my grades taking general requirements, so I am moving on to something that means something to me.

CemetaryGates9 04-12-2005 07:42 PM

I'm gonna change mine soon

Kurtz 04-12-2005 07:44 PM

All I'm saying is, it's probably justifiable. When you're getting an F in two different classes, that's a crisis zone.

And all he needs to do is get his grades back up anyway, and if it's that early in the grading period, it shouldn't be hard. I'm tired of hearing kids whine about their parents.

EDIT: Efil, when did I say that? I simply said that Carlin has devolved into the type of tiringly angry and hard-edged comic that is a dime a dozen.

Yeah, but where are the ethics in threatining to take some1s music away?

CemetaryGates9 04-12-2005 07:48 PM

He might be bullshitting you just to intimidate you into getting your grades up.

Also, an exciting new avatar, though not as elaborate as it would have been if I still had that GIF editor program.
Yeah, but where are the ethics in threatining to take some1s music away?
Quit acting maudlin about it.

All you have to do is improve your grades. They overreacted and so did you. Life is tough. Deal with it.

ATM 04-12-2005 07:49 PM

My mom did that to me. I was on a field trip sophmore year, and we went to a glacier. This all took place in Norway. On the way back, we had to walk home and we were tired as hell. My friend Ib and I had the bright idea to hitch hike back, so we got ahead of everyone, and when a car came by flagged it down. We hitchiked the 10 miles back to the hotel. We were laughing our assses off thinking we had just done the greatest thing ever, but the school thought other wise :/

My mom pulled me out of school, made me get a job, and wouldn't let me listen to music, talk to anyone, watch TV, or get on the computer. Let's just say my pickle got tickled a few times.

Study more.

Do your work.

Raise your grades.

Then your parents will get off you.

You're lucky, it was a rough couple weeks.

So I need some help guys...I need to find one song that has changed my life for whatever reason, compelling lyrics, fantastic musicianship, anything. The catch for me is it's for show and tell and I want it to be obscure enough no one will have heard it before because, lets face it, hearing a song for the first time is more fantastic than later listens. SO basically I want a song that everyone will enjoy and be blown away by that is still obscure. :)

ATM 04-12-2005 08:02 PM

You want us to pick a song that has changed your life?

Permanent Solution 04-12-2005 08:04 PM
You want us to pick a song that has changed your life?
Well, I want people to toss out suggestions in hopes I get inspired. :)

Obviously I'm still making the final choice and if I don't agree with anything said, I won't choose it.

EDIT: Basically I'm asking what you would choose for said assignment i guess.

CemetaryGates9 04-12-2005 08:06 PM

Actually, I find hearing a song the second time is the best. Because the first time I get a CD, I listen to it and it kinda blows, then the second time its powerful, then after that its just good.

ATM 04-12-2005 08:07 PM

The song that I would choose is Where I End and You Begin by Radiohead. That song just puts me in a reflective mood, and I can listen to it over and over. The lyrics are beautiful.

CemetaryGates9 04-12-2005 08:11 PM

Hmmm, does this avatar suck, or is it alright?

I suddenly dont feel so bad anymore.

Illmatic 04-12-2005 08:14 PM

If I had to pick one at the moment (because I don't really know what song "changed my life"), it'd be "Sunday Sun" by Beck. Such a beautiful, dreamy, ethereal song.

CemetaryGates9 04-12-2005 08:23 PM

Off the top of my head I'd say Blackened by Metallica. But I'm like that.

Endless Obsession 04-12-2005 08:23 PM

Master of Puppets changed my life. I had never heard any metal(excluding SOAD, and other mainstream nu-metal) and then my friend played this for me before a football game. And now i am totally different.

CemetaryGates9 04-12-2005 08:24 PM

Im more of an AJFA fan myself.

Iron Man 04-12-2005 08:27 PM

Mine would be Opeth - Blackwater Park. But I know you don't like Opeth :p

pigonthewing82 04-12-2005 08:27 PM

Astronmy Domine by Pink Floyd

That song really inspired me to get more intouch with my more creative side. I had been playing the guitar for a couple months before I heard it, and it totally changed the way I play. I now look as my guitar as the keys into a world of expirmentation with endless things that have never been done before.

Rate me.

And I'd say something by Dredg although you might be the person who doesn't like Dredg, I can't remember. Maybe that's DFelon... or Subtle Dagger? It's someone. Those songs off of El Cielo blow me away over and over and no one knows them.

Dr. Jake Destructo 04-12-2005 09:21 PM

I posted in there before I left for spring break (10 days ago) and I have yet to find a response. This is the second time I've asked here, I asked in the emu/rom thread, and also in the Final Fantasy thread, mainly because I want to play FF games on my computer. :p

FF-Do you think you could perhaps upload some Dredg? I've heard a lot about them, and they sound like they would be of interest to me. :D
