I had to work last week, and will have to work this week too...
(equipment costs money... )

Foxfire 07-26-2004 03:54 PM
Well my week was very standard, worked from monday to friday, as usual. Hell, sometimes I feel that I can't distinguish one day from the other, know what I mean? Everything is just so plain normal. When I was younger I used to feel that sleeping interrupted life, you know, like you had something to do and sleeping was sometimes a problem, now as soon as I wake up I'm thinking about getting back to it, it almost seems as if now when I'm awake I am interrupting my sleep, weird. Yeah...guess I have to find something fun to do, besides playing bass, i don't know....maybe a new girl, or something...
Amen...I just got a Curbow 4 though, so it's okay. All my friends are on vacation and I don't feel like going outside -_-.

Wintermute 07-26-2004 04:00 PM

^^^

Oooh...

I'm saving for a Cort Curbow 5 myself... Unfortunately UK prices are MUCH higher than US ones for them...

theFro 07-26-2004 04:08 PM

lucky all you guys.

i get up most days around 6:30 (after going to bed around midnight or 12:30 thereof) and working in a bakery for or a camp for kids with special needs for 7 hours. then i come home, hang out with my girlfriend (that is, if shes not working), come home at 11, and stay up working on my photography or something like that. then i do it all over again.

saving my money for a nikon d70 digital camera... nothing for bass.... maybe i need some new inspiration for it or something...

nisakss 07-26-2004 04:08 PM

^^^^ Ahh, new equipment, the fountain of happiness! :amaze:

I *love* my Curbow. It's not super hard to play it sitting either :).

It's such a jump, it even sounds better acoustically than my Jay Turser P-copy :p

AfroMan 07-26-2004 04:37 PM

It seems everyones getting Curbows these days........................

Just like a while back when everyone was getting rockbasses I guess.

hmm

pixiesfanyo 07-26-2004 04:40 PM

I'm saving for a new precision :)

Foxfire 07-26-2004 04:41 PM

^ Eh I needed a nice four until I could afford a Conklin 7er, and I played one at Guitar Center a loved it :)

To Afroman, by the way :P

I really want to play one but they don't seem to have them anywhere over hear.................

Im currently saving for a double bass and a new bass around the £1500 price range(too many choices to start listing).

Foxfire 07-26-2004 04:47 PM

Hehe.

I'm *hoping* to have a fullstack and a Conklin 7 by around this time next year.

And the Guitar Centers here don't have anything over a 5er. However, I figure that if I order it from Musicians Friend and don't like it, I can always return it.

The Bill 'Buddha' Dickens one looks NICE but I find the gold tacky :( Anyone know where I can get a 7-string bridge in Chrome? :)

nisakss 07-26-2004 06:11 PM

Is anybody here a F1 fan?

pixiesfanyo 07-26-2004 06:14 PM

I don't have money for a double bass. and never will :)

Foxfire 07-26-2004 06:28 PM
I don't have money for a double bass. and never will :)
I could probably afford one, but but but I want a Conklin 7 and a stack :(

nisakss 07-26-2004 06:32 PM

How important are the looks of a bass for you??

Foxfire 07-26-2004 06:34 PM

Well I mean...say there were two basses, both played INCREDIBLY, both awesomely versatile, awesome neck, you loved how both of them felt...but one was better looking than the other. Which would YOU pick?

Purely vain: I dislike how gold hardware looks.

pixiesfanyo 07-26-2004 06:43 PM

Obviously if they both played incredibly i'd get the good looking one.

Foxfire 07-26-2004 06:49 PM

Exactly...I like to narrow it done before I pick the bass anyways, and if it comes to two that were awesome in every aspect, or almost every aspect (even if one lacked something that the other had, as I like to create my OWN sound), I'd still get the better looking one.

nisakss 07-26-2004 06:54 PM

You see, and I'm ashamed to confess this, but I'm between a B.C Rich Innovator and an Ibañes SGR 800, and the Ibañez plays a little better, but I'm trown down by its looks and by the small neck. I like big necks, with jumbo frets, which the B.C has, and besides it is so cool looking, I just want to have it, I don't know, I'm obessed with this bass.

nisakss 07-26-2004 06:55 PM

I'm a shallow man.......... :upset:

Foxfire 07-26-2004 06:57 PM

You said it's just a *little* better (the ibanez). What makes it just a little better? If it's something you don't mind getting rid of, go ahead! I'm a fan of the Ibanez necks myself :p

That's sort of like me with the Conklin 7ers. I've been looking at em and all...I think the Conklin GT-7 looks a little more attractive...however, the Conklin Bill "Buddha" Dickens GT-7 is less attractive (wine burst which I think looks pretty slick, but GOLD hardware = tacky and ugly :(. And I know it's not going to be easy to get a 7-string bass bridge, ya know?) but it has a mid knob and custom Barts and I cannot bass that up :p

Foxfire 07-26-2004 06:58 PM
I'm a shallow man.......... :upset:
Quoted for truth.

Just kidding! :p

nisakss 07-26-2004 07:00 PM

The Ibanez has more versatility, specially for slap. It sounds better, but the B.C's "finger tone" is awesome, and with a pick I'm Nicky SIxx!! BTW, it has goldware, but as it is green it kind of looks nice, although I usually don't like gold hardware.

Tell what you think!

Foxfire 07-26-2004 07:05 PM

That is one B.C. Rich that I think looks good! :O

I dislike the gold but like I said...I'm really anti-gold. :p I live in Chicago, I'm sick of the bling-bling...-_-

And do you slap alot, or are you a fingerer (no innuendo intended :p)? If you don't plan to slap a lot, then by all means, get the B.C. Rich! Especially if you love how it feels :)

nisakss 07-26-2004 07:13 PM

Yes I will!!! I'm a finger player mostly, and sometimes a picker. Lately, specially since I've been hearing to some stuff by rollo, slapindabass, coffekiller, amongst others, I've been wanting to play more slap. But anyhow, I think this bass is a good choice, thank you very much.

As soon as I have it, I'll post something in my soundclick. :chug: (I hope in the next few days, when I get paid!)

Foxfire 07-26-2004 07:14 PM

Excellent! :)

I've never been a fan of how the B.C. Rich's look. That bass looks wonderful :p My gold-nazism thinks you should get a Badass V bridge and change the knobs and tuners.

Conform, conform! *shakes fist*

You live in Chicago? :amaze: I live in the western suburbs.

Anyway, to be on topic, that BC Rich doesn't do much for me.

Foxfire 07-26-2004 07:23 PM

West suburbs, eh? I'm really bad with direction (I know my way TO places but I can't explain HOW to get there :p)

Which suburbs, exactly? Skokie, Park Ridge, Niles, Harwood Heights? :p
