I bought St.Anger due to all the hype it got from the metallica.com website.

Its not all that bad, but it is incredibly disappointing.

Ah well, I'm off for a curry.
Finally someone else. St. Anger isn't all that horrible, it's actually listenable.

IAJP 12-21-2004 02:32 PM

"The Warning"
Is living proof to me that Tommi Iomi is the greatest metal guitarist ever.

Brew 12-21-2004 02:43 PM

The Warning is a cover.

But still, it shows Iommi's kick arse bluesy style of guitar playing.

It's brilliant the way it stops suddenly, then you think "Ah, finnished",
and then the bass rips back into it, so awesome.

I can play it all on bass :)

Its mainly just one big groovey jam.

If you like jazzy stuff. Youll love wicked world on the past lives album. Right after the solo tony, geezer and bill jus go into some random jazz song. Its sounds great.

Awesome,
I've allways thought that "Master Of Reality" was the most diverse of all Sabbath albums,
You've got really heavy stuff like "Into The Void" and on the other hand there's songs like "Solitude" which are completley different from almost anyting they've ever done, not forgetting the great instrumentals "Embryo" and "Orchid",
great album.

Brew 12-22-2004 08:37 AM

Maybe thats what smoking large amounts of weed does to you when writing songs.

black_sabbath634 12-22-2004 09:35 AM

master of reality
1. sweet leaf
2. after forver
3. into the void
4. solitude

Brew 12-22-2004 10:04 AM

/me is copying Live Evil from vinyl to pooter.

Just finished doing the song Black Sabbath, its about 9.16 long. I've heard this album a few times, Dio's voice isn't too bad on the Ozzy-era songs.

Woodstock 12-22-2004 10:18 AM

Any of you guys seen this?
i bet it isnt as good as ozzy's though
Of course its not as good as Ozzy's, but he gives some songs his own twist by singing the lyrics a little different to how Ozzy sung them.

The drum solo by Vinny Appice is pretty good.

I didn't know that those discs had been stolen, its good that they got them back.

How much do you think they'd have gone for on eBay though?

£1000+ each?

i wish i found them :upset:

Woodstock 12-22-2004 10:21 AM

It's like a contest to break into Ozzy's house. It happens every week.

at least he changed them, i hate it when a band gets a new singer and they sing exactly the same as the old singer did...oh no ive just destroyed all reasoning behind me not liking dio, noooo!!! :upset:

now im gonna have to buy dehuminizer (think thats the right name)

Brew 12-22-2004 10:23 AM

Poor dude, why can't they just leave the Osbourne family alone?

because they are all pricks that need their balls cut off!

Brew 12-22-2004 10:28 AM

True.

Also, I've heard a few songs from Dehumanizer, they're pretty good. A little heavier than the other Dio-era Sabbath albums.

shadow_stalker 12-22-2004 10:29 AM

who sang on the track 'the shining', i now hate him instead of dio  and dont nobody try and stop me dag-nabbit!

Brew 12-22-2004 10:32 AM

I'm not sure, and I'm too lazy to check black-sabbath.com.

/is currently recording Heaven and Hell from live evil.

I've got a feeling that this song is going to be a good 12mins long.

shadow_stalker 12-22-2004 10:34 AM

thats alot longer than the studio version

*will check for singer when i can be arsed*

Brew 12-22-2004 10:36 AM

It is indeed.

On the next side of the record, they have Heaven and Hell (continued) after playing about half of The Sign of the Southern Cross.

Will put the total time for Heaven and Hell up when its finished recording.

Brew 12-22-2004 10:44 AM

First half of Heaven and Hell - 12.50.

It breaks off into a long guitar solo by Iommi, which rocks.

Hello everyone, been absent for a long time (wow 3 days:) )
LONDON - Stolen gold and silver discs won by Ozzy Osbourne's band Black Sabbath were recovered Wednesday after thieves dumped them behind trash cans
Its a quote from that http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tm...n_ozzy_osbourne thing... 'Ozzy Osbourne's band Black Sabbath'? WTF???? When I hear such statements I want to vomit. If BS are ANYONE's band, They would be Iommi's obviously.
Ok now... Youve been listing fav. Black Sabbath songs from each album... I'll give just Master of Reality:
1. Embryo/Children of the Grave
1. After Forever
1. Orchid/Lord of this World
1. Solitude
2. Lord of this World
3. Into the Void
3. Sweet Leaf
Oh and maybe Black Sabbath:
1. Black Sabbath
1. The Wizard
1. NIB
1. Wicked World
2. All other songs
It's not that I know only numbers from 1-3 but BS has just like... Only Brilliant, Very Good or Good songs.

kredkeee! 12-22-2004 12:55 PM

Ah Andy, what's that email you've sent me? It looks a bit like spam and I'm not sure whether to click that link in it or what...?

IAJP 12-22-2004 01:57 PM

I'm listening to "Live Evil"
It's actually a lot better than I remember it being,
especially Heaven & Hell,
they were obviously nothing without Ozzy or Bill though.
bs has some horrible songs, no one is perfect
Perhaps you're right. Oh there are some I detest listening to,like fluff... But I can't really name many songs like that one. I meant those few posts ago that I like most of Sabbath songs.

IAJP 12-22-2004 02:10 PM
bs has some horrible songs, no one is perfect
I dissagree,
I think every song on that album is perfect
(Maybe Evil Woman is a little childish) but other than that it's solid.
