Drum virtuosity is not all that relevant when considering AC/DC's sound. But I do prefer Rudd to Slade but its nothing to do with skill, the bald head just doesn't do it for me.

rippa32 05-09-2005 12:16 AM
chris slade was just a session player always has been same with simon wright AC/DC couldnt get permanent drummer for the band
I wouldnt call them session drummers. Simon was with them for a while. And as for Slade, he would have been there a while if they hadn't decided to meet up with Phil again.

Ulysses 05-09-2005 12:25 AM

Simon Wright ended up joining Dio because he always had an infatuation with them according to Malcolm. Slade, I don't know what happened to him..back to session drumming i suppose.

horseypie 05-09-2005 03:36 AM

sure....phil rudd is the biggest bogan in the band

i love him

Bon_Scottie 05-09-2005 07:54 AM
Chris Slade is better than any other Ac Dc drummer. just listen to Thunderstruck. Yes, he is better than Phil Rudd
I take it you've never heard any Dio tracks then...

The early songs are only for Bon and the later songs created by Ac/Dc would only sound good with Brian, they sound totally different.

I think some live stuff done by brian is pretty good that was originally done by bon like jailbreak on live i think is awesome. But I don't think bon could sing any songs that were written in the brian era.

rippa32 05-10-2005 05:58 AM

Please spell properly.

Brewer14 05-10-2005 01:45 PM

I think Bon was a better songwriter. Songs like "Overdose" and "Ride On"; I haven't heard anything like those since Brian came around (if there are songs like that, I'd appreciate it if someone could point them out since I've obviously missed them). Not that I dont like the guy, hes great, but I'd take Bon over him.
bon didnt write. ang & mal did.
I'm pretty sure Bon also wrote, I just checked the High Voltage and LTBR booklets to make sure.

maddog87 05-10-2005 02:55 PM

it may be credited ,but i dont think so. he might have helped though.

rippa32 05-11-2005 03:28 AM

The reason that the credit to bon is there is because he wrote ALL the lyrics.

Ulysses 05-11-2005 05:12 AM
Does everone hear like bon scott over Brian?
yes.

Marty 05-11-2005 11:25 AM

yeah Bon wrote almost all the lyrics for AC/DC back in the day, i think the only album that Brian actually wrote entirely was Blow Up Your Video, correct me if I'm wrong though.

Brewer14 05-11-2005 01:04 PM
The reason that the credit to bon is there is because he wrote ALL the lyrics.
Thought so. Thanks for clearing that up.

Six Foot Revolver 05-11-2005 02:42 PM

So I got Powerage today and it has taken If you want blood...'s place as my favourite AC/DC album :thumb:

I think Brian has written a few albums. I was pretty confident that he wrote Back In Black. I'm not positive but that's what I thought.

rippa32 05-12-2005 04:42 AM

Yes he wrote from Back in Black to Flick of the Switch (or Fly on the Wall, I cant remember) everything after that he hasnt, he is for the new one though.

Dingus 05-12-2005 05:12 AM

back in black is pretty good.. and very sentimental..first song i learned.

Anybody here like Rhino Bucket? They make rocking tracks and sound similiar to AC/DC. Another forum member posted a link to this movie trailored site, but in the background it has Rhino Buckets new tune. It's actually really good, take a listen;

Also, anybody fancy coming down to Wales for an AC/DC Convention? I'll be sure going. I've entered to win two VIP tickets. It's gonna' be a 'ball'! Tribute bands, shows, beer, weekend...

Check it out here;
Does everone hear like bon scott over Brian?
no bon kicked more ***! they start to fade after brian joined (even if back in black in black sold more copies than highway to hell bon kicked more ***)

AB/CD 05-12-2005 03:56 PM

majority of people r saying Bons great cos he sang highway to hell and he originally song personally i like Bon and Brian but i do think Brian cant sing Bons songs cos he cant hit the high parts as well Brian has written on every album from back in black to stiff upper lip i mean like looks at it this way every song which has 2 meanings from back in black onwards is 1 of Brians e.g. let me put my love into you, given the dog a bone, sink the pink, hard as a rock

c0nfusedGUiTARiST 05-12-2005 04:47 PM

AC/DC, good band...

punkster998 05-12-2005 04:58 PM

I'm currently listening to the Back In Black album. Good stuff.

punkster998 05-12-2005 05:00 PM
Does everone hear like bon scott over Brian?
Of course. Because they were better when he was in the band.

hell yeh bon is a legend

Ulysses 05-13-2005 02:29 AM

So when exactly is this proposed new album hitting the shelves? I have heard a few rumours about the dates and names and so forth.

ArcLite 05-13-2005 02:33 AM

Well, as you said, most is based on rumors, but the most recent I've been hearing is early 06, like Februaryish. But I've also heard fall dates as well. I'm not really listening to any of it, just gonna wait for when the official release date is given.

Ulysses 05-13-2005 02:42 AM

Fair enough, I'm eager to see them tour as I haven't seem them perform live before. I'm hoping they will be out next year sometime, grab my mates, have a few drinks and watch some rock and roll.

horseypie 05-13-2005 03:31 AM

bloody oath man lets go aussie lets go

lol i feel like a tool

rippa32 05-13-2005 04:29 AM

Im expecting the album to come out next year. I hope its a double album.

AngusYoung413 05-13-2005 09:16 AM

well Brian said they were working on a heck of a lot of songs so a double album could be possible

AB/CD 05-13-2005 04:32 PM

brian said that as a joke the day after he mentioned a double album he got a call from sony saying dont be saying it ocudl be a double album becos fans will get the wrong idea and will think its going to be a double album

rippa32 05-13-2005 07:11 PM

Yeah, but wouldnt it be good if it was?

Ulysses 05-14-2005 12:22 AM

Indeed it would be, double the beer guzzling blues riffing to really put a ring in the ears and the liver to good use. It would depend on the quality of the album, a double-album of average songs isn't that enjoyable.
