Where do you live? If you're in Europe, Japan, US, So Am, and I think Australia, Deth are gonna tour there.
I live in the US, but I live in Idaho. :(

Unless they come to Boise, I don't have much of a chance of seeing them. I'm going to try my hardest though.

drive my friend, drive... next time around in the US... DRIVE! I drove 2 and a half hours, not much, but I'd be willing to drive for as much as it took long as it was less than a 2 day drive. Overnight would still be worth it. Fuck it, I'd go as far as it takes.

Yeah and everyone go vote for Rust in Peace.

Freezing Moon 02-03-2005 08:06 PM

Good plan. I'm only 15, luckily Idaho has redneck laws and I will be getting my liscense any day now. :)

thelittledrummerboy 02-03-2005 08:38 PM

Just bought criptic writings. Sounds Awsome, Its kinda like Metallica, Guns and Roses and Motely Crue ran into each other the the wreckage was Megadeth. Under all that its a :thumb: from me, although im still waiting for Rust in peace to come in, is it worth the wait?

Freezing Moon 02-03-2005 10:14 PM

Definitly worth the wait. If you liked Cryptic Writings, wait until you hear RIP.

ArcLite 02-04-2005 12:12 AM

Not sure if its been mentioned yet but on their official site they have polls going for what songs will make it onto their greatest hits CD. I already went and voted, moreso for something to do than anything but I guess its news.

acefrehleyjendell 02-04-2005 12:18 AM

I just saw Megadeth play Holy Wars on the show they did with Metallica
and Diamond Head in 1993.

acefrehleyjendell 02-04-2005 12:26 AM

Here's what i think should be on it. In order.

1. Last Rites / Loved to Death
2. Killing is my business... and business is good
3. Rattlehead
4. Mechanix
5. Devil's Island
6. Hanger 18
7. Tornado of souls
8. Symphony of Destruction
9. Countdown to extinction
10. Rust in Peace
11. Trust
12. Moto Psycho
13. 99 Ways to Die
14. Angry Again
15. Kick the chair
16. Die dead enough
17. Peace Sells... But who's Buying?
18. Crush 'em
19. Strange Ways (KISS Cover)
20. Holy Wars

but i think all of you would have entirely different veiws.

ThrashMaster27 02-04-2005 12:58 AM

20 songs? ok.

1. Last Rites/Loved To Death
2. Killing Is My Business... And Business Is Good!
3. Mechanix
4. Peace Sells
5. Good Mourning/Black Friday
6. My Last Words
7. Into The Lungs of Hell (Yes! I'm aware it's an instrumental)
8. Liar
9. Hook In Mouth
10. Holy Wars....The Punishment Due
11. Five Magics
12. Tornado of Souls
13. Ashes In Your Mouth
14. Addicted To Chaos
15. The Killing Road
16. The Disintegrators
17. She-Wolf
18. Blackmail The Universe
19. Back In The Day
20. New Track

Reidie86 02-04-2005 03:07 AM

my best of would be

1. last rites...loved to deth
2. mechanix
3. the chosen ones
4. wake up dead
5. peace sells
6. devils island
7. my last words
8. hook in mouth
9. in my darkest hour
10 hanger 18
11. holy wars ...... the punishment due
12. take no prisinors
13. symphony of destruction
14. captive honour
15. skin o' my teeth
16. addicted to chaos
17. a tout le monde
18. trust
19. promises
20. disconect
21. die dead enough
22. kick the chair

could have added other tracks too, ie. rust in peace/ polaris, 5 magics, arcatecture of aggresion, ashes in your mouth, reckoning day, blackmail the universe. some more songs from cryptic writings could go on it, but i dont think a "best of" cd should have to have a certain amount of songs from each album, imo songs like she wolf, secret place and the disintegrators are up there with the best of the songs from cryptic writings but dont cut it on a megadeth "best of"

munky_magik 02-04-2005 06:11 AM
Definitly worth the wait. If you liked Cryptic Writings, wait until you hear RIP.
why? because he likes Cryptic Writings doesn't necesarilly gurantee thet he'll like RIP. The sounds are quite distant so there's an equal chance that he won't.

ArcLite 02-04-2005 06:13 AM

Yeah, it moreso guarantees that he'll like Youthanasia.

jaymz_is_god 02-04-2005 10:34 AM
what year was rude awakening released?
2002, i think

MAthiAS 02-04-2005 11:06 AM
2002, i think
Yeah, or at least the concert was in 2002, I'm pretty sure. Because they cancelled that show in Argentina because of 9/11 and this was the show they did in its place, so they released it.

I just repped all of you guys... now go and vote against Metallica in the album polls.

I saw megadeth last night in glasgow, they were f*ckin awesome! I have the bruises as proof

Lord Abortion 02-04-2005 01:31 PM

Some words on last night
I was 2 rows from the front near the PA right - centre and my ears are still ringing.
Megadeth were incredible!
highlights included the huge sing- alongs that were a tout le monde and sweating bullets, the cheer that greeted the latter was magnificent...
unfortunately there were some feedback problems on Dave's mike which made some lyrics sound odd at the start...
the best songs were sweating bullets, hangar 18, holy wars, tornado of souls, wake up dead, skin o my teeth, the scorpion ...well they were all bloody amazing
in a tiny venue the atmosphere was brilliant and We went away deafened and happy at the electric performance by Dave and the band
Diamond head supported and were fantastic too ...
For a support band to get a sing along is unusual and at least three is wierd, but we all knew the words to am I evil?, it's electric and blown to pieces...
they later joined 'deth onstage for backing vocals in the superb rendition of Back in the day.
all in all that was an incredible gig and long may they continue!

how could you forget the crowd singing along to maiden , run to the hills, before diamond head.

Lord Abortion 02-04-2005 02:26 PM

that was odd as much as maiden are my favourite band it seemed a bit strange to me

there was some stuff I didn't recognise like angry again and trust
and they could have dropped In my darkest hour because it's crap
Polaris would have been great in it's place loved the mechanix and peace sells mix that was brilliant seeing as there was no rattlehead or looking down the cross

AB/CD 02-04-2005 02:32 PM

And how exactly would you know that it was better if you were only at one?
Also, refusing to debate the matter hints at immaturity.

Lord_abortion has recomended either 'rust in piece' or 'Holy wars' (can't remember which it was), the only one i have so far is peace sells, what would be a good one to get next?

Rust in Peace... Holy Wars is the first track on RiP. Lord Abortion, sounds awesome. One thing about when I saw them, with Exodus, it was pretty sick how they sung Back in the Day together, being as how they're both thrash legends. Anyway, sounds like a hell of the show, as always from them.

shadow_stalker 02-04-2005 05:05 PM

ah i got confused then

ok i'll look into getting rust in piece

thanks

RiP won't dissapoint :thumb:

Freezing Moon 02-05-2005 12:50 AM

RIP definitly won't dissapoint. I used to listen to it all the time, then I kind of stopped for a while. I recently started listening to it more, and I decided to try to learn as much of every song on the entire CD on guitar as I possibly can.

Nice. Take No Prisoners is a really fun song to play because the riffs are pretty much never repeated throughout the whole song, and the solo is short and sweet.

Sweet. That's the next song I was planning on learning from that CD.

AB/CD 02-05-2005 01:46 PM

DethtillDeath...do..us..part 02-05-2005 02:44 PM

Im starting this thread with hopes that as a collector myself i can stir up some other collectors out there.Im interested in seeing what every other die hard Deth collector out there..has,needs,wants to sell, trade or buy items that i mite have copies of at the time.

So tell me what you have sitting in that dark closet of Deth collecting dust.Whether it be vinyl,cd's,promo's,test presses, bootlegs and so on.Im interested in hearing about it all from the plain jane to the ultra rare.

PEACE SELLS...YA,I BOUGHT IT

That was the first Megadeth song I ever heard. I downloaded it and somehow lost/deleted it. I think I'm going to get it again, because its pretty cool.
